I have been adding color to my hair since I was 12. I've been blond,
brunette, jet black, blue black, and every other color one can imagine.
Over the course of my hair coloring years, I have learned that not all
hair dyes are created equally, L'Oreal however, has been a personal
favorite of mine for years.
More recently black has been my color. I like how it brings out my
green eyes, and makes my complexion look a little tanner than usual.
After getting back from Mexico though, I noticed my black locks had a
reddish penny copper tint to it due to the intense sunlight that Mexico
delivers. When I got home, dyeing my hair was a top priority on my list
of things to do.
I went with L'Oreal Excellence Cream, #1 Black, because it seemed like it would give me back my natural looking black locks, without looking too black, or fake.
I bet you are wondering how it worked.
Well first and foremost, this particular hair coloring kit comes with
everything you need to dye your hair, while keeping it in its best tip
top shape.
In the box you have a tube of dye, and a tube of liquid formula, in
which you add the dye to. Shake it up and wallah. Store it to the side
because the kit also comes with a pre-conditioning tube that you use in
your hair before you apply the dye. This will protect weaker hair, so
add this formula to your hair where you know it is the weakest.
Next simply add the dye to the desired areas. For me, it was full
coverage. I used the included gloves to spread the dye throughout my
locks, and surprisingly even with my very thick hair, there was enough
dye to get the job done.
I let the dye sit in for 30 minutes, and rinsed it out. After rinsing,
I then used the included conditioning cream and let it sit in for 3
minutes or more. Then rinsed.
The results were perfect. The included conditioning cream added all of
the moisture that I needed, and my hair was left fully covered, and
black; but not too black as to where its a frightful look.
Overall I am happy with the results. I got full and even coverage
without having to sacrifice the health of my hair. I would recommend
this one to anyone looking to color their hair black, and have a natural
look.
