Review of Acqua Di Gioia: Essence of Joy, Perfume for Women

I cannot get enough of freebie perfume samples. If not for small magazine sampler pages, or small tubes of actual perfume handed out at local Macy's, I would likely not even bother with new fragrances.
This past week Macy's mixed the best of both worlds, a ton of new samples VIA their catalog. In this large over stuffed catalog out popped over a dozen free sample swatches of new fragrances, and some older ones in which I have already tried.

Up first was Acqua Di Gioia: Essence of Joy.

Personally I did not know what to expect, but knowing just a small bit about the line of fragrances, I did know one thing, and that was that this newbie fragrance would likely have a watery quality about it.
I was right in that aspect, Acqua Di Gioia: Essence of Joy, does indeed have an airy watery scent to it, but the more the scent began to sink in, I couldn't help but try to pinpoint where I had experienced this exact fragrance before.

It took me about 5 minutes to finally nail it. Acqua Di Gioia: Essence of Joy smelled just like Ed Hardy's newer fragrances, Hearts & Daggers. It's a light watery scent, with a fruity like backup that gives it this wonderful summery scent that just about anyone would enjoy. The issue for me however was that it was way to similar to the scent just discussed, and not just that, but it's a scent that is not all too original at all.

The Last:

Although it is not very unique, Acqua Di Gioia: Essence of Joy does pack last, and even with the smallest swipe to my wrist, I was able to detect the notes sneaking up on me throughout the day.

The Bottle:

Acqua Di Gioia has never made collection worthy bottles, and Acqua Di Gioia: Essence of Joy is no exception. It's a bland bottle, with a turquoise colors round topper. The perfume itself is colored a minty clear green, which is pretty enough, but again, the bottle is ugly and one you can just toss once the perfume is gone.

Overall:

I mean it smells just fine, there is nothing wrong with the scent at all, and it is one that I think many women would just love, however it is not very unique, and it does not stick out to me any, as a new must have fragrance, considering how similar it is to other competitor brands.

If you do not own a scent that smells like this one, then sure go ahead and buy it, but check Hearts & Daggers out first as the price is lower, and the scent neat exact to Acqua Di Gioia: Essence of Joy.
