Review of Celine Deon's Chic Perfume for Women

This past week while browsing at my local Walmart I came across one of those beat up looking baskets that the store will usually slam sloppily on an out isle. In these baskets, if you dare to stick your hand, sometimes you pull out some great deal, and other times globs of lip gloss coating your fingers.

I saw a small box in the clearance basket, pulled it out, and noted the red $5 clearance tag on it. It was actually Celine Deon's Chic Perfume for Women.

For the price, I figured why not? Even a tiny bottle like this one usually comes to $9.99 or more, so I was happy to have nabbed it for only $5. I figured if the perfume sucked, it was not much of a loss, and I could always pass it along in a stocking stuffer come Christmas time.

The bottle itself was cute, and sophisticated looking. The bottle itself is a rectangular shaped bulb, with a black and gold topper.

The Scent:

Chic by Celine Deon is described as having an aquatic green note to it, with watermelon, peony, lotus flower, gardenia, blond wood, sandalwood, musk and amber.

It seemed like a scent that would smell woodsy, but with a refreshing fruity quality.

What I got though was a weak woodsy scent which was most likely the amber and mix of blond wood and sandalwood. Once these notes hit the air and toned down, I was able to detect the florals, which were obvious, but masked up with a high note of powder. I imagine, the powdery scent is the musk, but done wrong. It smelled too soft but spicy.

I did not get any refreshing notes of watermelon, nor was the scent anything I'd associate with an aquatic green. It was more of a spicy musk, with a powdered finish. It was not a bad scent at all, I really liked it, but it was not really made as it is described.

Last:

The unfortunate thing about Celine Deon Chic, is that the scent did not stick around very long for me at all. I had about 20 minutes of wear, till the fragrances were no longer detected.

Overall:

It smells OK, but does not last long enough to justify another purchase, or recommendation.
