Review of Clarin's Toning Lotion

My friend recently brought me over a new care package from Clarin's. Clarin's has never really been a favorite of mine when it comes to facial care, or cosmetics, but since the stuff was free, there was no way in hell I was not going to use it.

One product that stuck out the most was Clarins Toning Lotion. The reason this lotion stuck out so badly to me was because the toning lotion did not resemble a lotion at all. It was pure liquid, and why they added the word lotion to the sequence was confusing to me.

The toner itself has a yellow tint to it, which is kind of yucky, because it resembles the color of urine, and thinking of wiping urine around your face is not really very appealing. Thankfully, the toner smells good.

My friend though went on and on about how great it makes the skin feel, and how great it has been for her larger pores. Seeing that I too have some pretty cave like pores, I went ahead and used it immediately. It was made with combination dry/oily skin, which is exactly my skin type, so I hoped that while toning my skin, it would also keep the shine at bay.

I applied it with a cotton swab, and ran the liquid around my face. I liked the smell, it was a clean fresh scent, and the toner itself was not harsh.

As it dried, it felt as if it were tightening my skin, and my face did appear to be a lot fresher looking than it had before. The tight feeling went away rather quickly though, but the freshness stood with me, which I really liked. I did not even clean my face, but it felt as if I had just deeply cleansed my face, for that feeling alone, I knew that this toning lotion was a keeper.

As far as my pores go though, they still look the same, even with twice daily use. Personally though, I love the deep refreshing clean feeling it leaves behind. There is no residue, and the light scent vanishes, leaving behind fresh looking skin, and a refreshing clean feeling.

I wouldn't rely on it however to shrink my pores, I've been using it for about 2 weeks now with no changes in the size of my pores.

So, if it doesn't shrink pores, what's to like about it?

Clarin's Toning Lotion can remove makeup, as well as dirt and oils. It leaves your skin feeling fresh for quite some time after applying it, it absorbs quickly, and it is alcohol free, so it won't dry out your skin.
It's a winner in my book, but for other who want it for pore shrinking, it hits the marker in that department.
