I hate birthdays because I am growing older. I love birthdays because I
get showered with gifts from every corner of the globe. Delicious Cotton
Candy by Gale Hayman was recently sent to me VIA snail mail for my
birthday this year.
Seeing that I am pushing the big 30, I did not think I would like this
scent much; even before I opened up the box. Cotton Candy was a perfume
scent that I liked as a teenager, but as I have grown older, my
fragrance preferences have changed from high potent sugary scents to
more toned down, and refined tastes like amber, musk, or light florals.
I hoped that Delicious Cotton Candy had a more mature tone to it, and
after opening up the package and taking a loot at the bottle, I thought
that perhaps it would. The bottle itself is clear, with pink perfume
inside of it. It has a round shape to it, with a really neat silver
topper. The topper though is what peaked my interests, and the topper
was what gave me the impression that perhaps this cotton candy scented
perfume would be more mature.
You see the topper was shaped like a jaguar, or leopard. It gives off
this neat little illusion that a large cat is peeking over a ledge.
Catty, cute, classy? Perhaps.
The Scent:
I sprayed 2 sprays into the air, and then one onto my shirt. Nearly
immediately the sickening high potent sugary cotton candy fragrance
filled the air. I didn't like it. Granted the cotton candy scent smells
as realistic to cotton candy as one can get, I didn't like it.
Now others who adore real cotton candy scents will love Delicious
Cotton Candy by Gale Hayman, because it definitely smells just like the
real deal, as if you had just walked by a warm cotton candy stand at a
carnival, with the sweet fragrances filling your nose.
If you cannot tolerate potent sugary scents though, then it would be best to avoid this one.
Last:
Delicious Cotton Candy is beautiful for the right crowd, and it has a
pretty lengthy last to it. I got around 4 hours of continuous scent,
before the fragrance fizzles away into nothing.
All in all though, I wouldn't go buying this one for someone who is
nearly 30, as a younger girl would enjoy it much, much more.
