Elizabeth Arden has always been one of my 'go to' when it came to the
best green tea scented perfume on the market. They should watch out
though, because I just inhaled my first ever sniff test of Givenchy Ange ou Demon,
and I have to say that it smells like they managed to grab that same
delicious sweet green tea essence that Arden had many years ago.
There of course are subtle differences, as the main focus of Givenchy
Ange ou Demon is not just green tea. This one actually combines 3 watery
fragrances into one delicious watery scent.
The first note that hit me was a dull fruity one, which is of course
the cranberry that is noted in this scent. After this dull scent fades
into a back seat out pops the delicious sweetness of green tea, and yes,
it smells like a replica of Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea, but it lacks
that potency, however it is present, and it does pop.
As the scent begins to mesh into each individual fragrance you are
left with this sweet cranberry scent, that places a spotlight on the
green tea. Combined you have a near floral green tea mixture, that
smells like a delicious healthy beverage you would find yourself craving
in the summer.
The Last:
Givenchy Ange ou Demon packs a long last just as Elizabeth Arden's
Green Tea does, only Givenchy Ange ou Demon actually lasts slightly
longer.
The Bottle:
Givenchy Ange ou Demon comes in a beautiful bottle, and I have seen 2
versions of the bottle, both featuring the same delicious scent. The
first is a black and white bottle shaped a lot like Donna Karrans
Cashmere Mist, only Givenchy Ange ou Demon's bottle is not as feminine.
It's a gem shape mostly, but pretty and worth keeping.
The second is a light version, no black in the mix. The black and
white bottle is actually much prettier and makes more sense to the devil
or angel theme they tried to portray.
Overall:
Givenchy Ange ou Demon could easily become one of my newest perfume
favorites. I love the unique twist on the green tea fragrance, and love
how the fragrances manages to last delivering hints of its scrumptious
fragrances all day long.
