Review of Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense, Perfume for Women

When I first saw the bottle that new Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense came packaged in, I imagined it would be a darker twist on their original perfume for women, Very Irresistible. I figured likely they decked it up with some jasmine, black cherry and perhaps a deeper darker musk.

The bottle is pretty and retains the near same shape the original bottle had, an elongated stretch Armstrong type counter catastrophe (yeah, I have the original and it falls too easily when the counter is bumped due to its ultra long shape). The bottle here on Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense is a deeper purple color which fades into a plum like pink bottom. There is also a silver rose decal added to the upper part of the long bottle, which gives it this Oriental dragon art vibe.

The Scent:

The darkness that Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense tried to give off is definitely present. Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense does indeed smell deep, dark, and mysterious, and a slight spice is the very first note I took in. Spice and powder primarily gives it this deep, oily and edgy bang.

Inhaling Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense, however makes it difficult to pin point exactly what sorts of scents are within the mix of exotics. After really taking in the scent though, I mostly got this watery plum rose mixture, which is actually really nice.

Mostly though Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense is pretty original in fragrance. I come across many new perfume fragrances that smell like nothing more than old popular favorites re-tweaked for a new edge, only most fail at creating that new edge.

Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense does a well enough job as it stands out as a unique scent all its own. As far as the scent goes as a whole though, it is nice, sure, it just truly fails to wow me, nor is it one I would ever really feel I needed in my collection of scents. Basically, as new and unique as it is, it's just not that spectacular.

The Last:

Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense does pack last, which is a major plus for those of you who find this scent to be as irresistible as it claims in the name. However as the scent fades you are left primarily with this sugary powdered patchouli fragrance.

Overall:

It's just decent in my opinion, I like that it lasts though, but the original bang you first inhale is not the one that will stick around. I imagine when it comes to Givenchy, Very Irresistible L'Intense, some will love it, others will hate it, and then a large percentage will feel the way I do. It's just OK, nothing I would go out of my way to purchase, and definitely one I could easily forget about.
