I am a sucker for new products, especially when it comes to makeup
beauty products...you know the age old over the top miraculous cosmetics
that swear it will remove wrinkles, reverse the aging curse and all
that jazz?
Call me a sucker, I know I am, and when I came across a newbie from L'Oreal called L'Oreal Visible Lift Smooth Absolute, Instant Age-Reversing Foundation, I was immediately taken with their promise to reverse years off of my skin instantly.
I have heard this promise time and time again, and more than 80% of
the time, the results are not even close to the bubbly raving promises.
Nearly $20 later, I walked out of the store with my new miracle
foundation. I couldn't wait to get home to actually put it to the test.
The Application:
Well, I absolutely hate this foundations application method. It's
dirty, it's wasteful, and it is messy. You see, someone over at L'Oreal
thought it would be a good idea to add an application brush to the tip
of the foundation wand. You twist the tip and the formula comes pouring
out way too fast, which in turn ends up delivering way the heck more
foundation than you need, so there is a lot of waste involved in this
one, and for the price I paid, waste is not something I was looking
forward to.
The second issue was there is not a way to actually clean this brush
after you use it, which leads to the buildup of dirt and oils on the
brush. We all know what that'll lead to right? Yes, acne. So perhaps
your skin will reverse 10 years by delivering you teenaged breakouts.
Horray!
The Formula:
The foundation applies evenly to the skin, and effortlessly but for me
it looked thick and shiny and I could feel it on my skin, which I hate.
I like airless finishes, ones that I cannot feel or have to think
about. When it comes to L'Oreal Visible Lift Smooth Absolute, Instant
Age-Reversing Foundation, I felt it, and it felt sticky.
In order for this one to actually feel and look semi decent on me, I
had to apply a layer of powdered foundation so my skin did not look so
shiny.
As far as erasing years off of my face though, I would have to say no.
It looked no different than wearing my usual brand by Estee Lauder.
The Last:
And here was the final deal killer. L'Oreal Visible Lift Smooth
Absolute, Instant Age-Reversing Foundation has the worst last I have
ever experienced when it comes to foundation. I do not like having to
re-apply throughout the day. I touch my face spontaneously, and use oil
blotters. My old foundation was able to handle and withstand touching of
the face.
Wearing this foundation though, and a small touch to the skin and you will note discolorations and clumping.
Overall:
This foundation has no last, is expensive, and has one of the worst
application methods I've yet to come across. I would definitely not buy
this one again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
