Lately I have been curling my hair using standard gels and hairsprays.
While seeking out my usual hair ingredients for curling, I came across
an entire series of products made just for women with a curled hair
style.
I am sure many of you already have seen the new series of hair
products in stores made by Pantene. If not, seek them out, because they
have an entire collection of products designed for every hair type.
I grabbed the shampoo, the conditioner, the hair spray, and, even
though I never really like picking up leave-in creams, I decided to go
ahead and get a bottle of Anti Frizz Straightening Cremebecause I
noticed that, as my curls dry after being wet and styled, they tend to
frizz up in places. I was hoping that this creme would keep the frizz
down, since that was what it promised to do.
Now here is where I messed up, and am a little agitated at the creme.
I am like thousands of other women. We don't really read bottles while
shopping, we see what seems to be good, it has a nice scent, so we toss
it in the cart and read it later on at home when we can relax.
Unfortunately this creme does not just keep frizz away, but it also
smooths out curls. I was under the impression that this 'curly hair
series' would improve my curls, make them more bouncy and add some body.
Unfortunately, though, this creme preps the hair for straightening. So
if you are looking to keep your curls bouncy and lively, skip out on
this one. It belongs in the straightened hair series.
At any rate, I applied it to my curled hair, and it did in fact tame
the frizz, but it also unraveled my curl, leaving it a lot less bouncy
and together-looking. Instead, I was left with semi-curly hair, with a
wave to it. Granted, this is not a horrible thing, I just think it
should have been tagged differently, and placed in a straight hair
series. I assumed the curly hair series would be for women looking to
keep their curls looking as curly as possible, while retaining the
bounce and spring that curly hair has.
The creme just tames them down, leaves them lifeless, but still, if
you are looking to relax your curly hair, you may find some use for this
creme.
Overall:
It does work. It will tame frizz, and allow hair to look more relaxed.
I just wish it would have done something to improve the curls. The
scent is nice, but after sniffing through a bunch of the different
collections, I noted that they all smell just about the same.
