Review of Organix Smoothing Treatment, 30 Day, Ever Straight, Brazilian Keratin Therapy

I have used relaxers before in my hair, and all have promised the same thing, straight, flawless frizz free hair. None of them ever worked though. Most of them did however manage to leave my hair dry and feeling like hay, while smelling like egg farts.

When I kept coming across review after review of users claiming that this one hit wonder called Organix Smoothing Treatment, 30 Day, Ever Straight, Brazilian Keratin Therapy, actually worked, I was excited to test that claim for myself.

I wondered though how it would react on my hair type, as mine is half wavy, semi curly, with a ton of puff an uncontrollable frizz and thickness. I hate having to use a straight iron because it could seriously take 2 hours out of my day to fully straighten my unruly hair.

I hoped, if anything, that Organix Smoothing Treatment, 30 Day, Ever Straight, Brazilian Keratin Therapy would make the hair less puffy and frizzy. I had a hunch it would not create superb straight locks, but if it did anything, I would hope it would simply de-frizz the hair.

How It Works:
 
In the box you get 2 products, a very small package of shampoo, and a bottle of formula that you use after shampooing.

However you can only shampoo, you are not to use any conditioner afterward, and trust me, this shampoo will leave your hair aching for some moisture. It left my hair feeling dry, knotty and disgusting.

You are to wait for your hair to be nearly dry before adding the formula in sections.
You are to wear the included gloves, and simply run the formula through sections of the hair, while brushing it straight and keeping it as straight as possible.

Once the formula is in your hair, you will feel it becoming more moisturized, and less gritty feeling. It will feel heavy and slightly greasy as it dries though, but this feeling vanishes once you use the straight iron.

Once the hair is dry, that is when you can use the straight iron on the hair. After the hair is pin straight you cannot tie it back, or up, or even tuck hair behind your ear. It's very difficult to do, but you will be less likely to tie it back after all the time you spent applying this treatment. (It took me about 5 hours)

Results: 

You cannot wash the hair for 48 hours, so things will look a little nasty by day 2. The hair however will remain pin straight and feel very soft and silky.

My main concern was what would happen once I actually showered.

I used Organix Brazilian Keratin shampoo and conditioner to maintain this treatment, but the hair dried with some fuzz and puffiness.

However, the amount of frizz and puffiness was half compared to what I would normally have if I allowed my hair to air dry.

What would normally take 2 hours to do, only took a half hour. That's right, I was able to flat iron my hair quickly and flawlessly in just 30 minutes, which is a huge difference before using this treatment.
Not only is styling hair faster and easier, but my hair feels healthier after applying this treatment. My hair is shiny, silky and soft.

Overall:
 
If you have severely frizzy/curly or puffy hair, this treatment will definitely help settle it down some, but not completely. It does however cut styling time. If your hair has just a little wave and curl, this would probably work perfectly.

I would highly recommend this one to anyone though, it will help sever frizz, but it will not make the hair pin straight once you shower for the first time. You will though, notice a complete difference in your hair though, a good difference.
