I have never been a fan of that Antonia Bandera's dude. He always looks
sweaty, and stinky. I'm glad he decided to endorse a perfume...after
smelling Spirit, I imagine the guy smells pretty good now, because the
cologne is sweeet!!!
(So next door to my office, we got this new chick who is now renting
the vacant shop. She is turning it into some weird wiccan shop... cool...
but her and (I imagine) her husband are fighting, so bare with me. I
hate writing when there is 'fighting' going on. I figure though, since
they are disturbing me, I will incorporate what I hear into my review...
you know, to make it interesting).
The Bottle:
Antonio Banderas Spirit comes in a very odd shaped bottle. Dare I say
that it reminds me of a guys ball sack. Yeah I said it... but to be
completely honest, that is what the bottle looks like to me.
The ball sack shaped (oh, a door just slammed!) bottle is made of
frosted glass, the glass however is see through. On top of the ball sack
shaped bottle is a metal lid that goes of the squirt thingie.
The Perfume:
It is red. It even looks a little girly, and looks like something a woman would buy...the ball sack shaped bottle and all could appeal to that lonely house wife.
(Oh something was just thrown... it hit the paper thin walls! This is going to get good man!)
The Scent:
So I held the glass ball sack in my hand, admired it's ballsyness, and
decided I would wear the perfume for the day, for the sake of this
review. Yep, no shame here. I review men perfume!
I sprayed some perfume onto my clothing and onto my wrists. I always
do this to incorporate my 'last test' on the perfume. How long does it
last on clothing, and how long does it last on skin?
First though let me tell you about the scent.... (Oh the F word was
just tossed out there. From what I gather, he dun went and cheated on
the lil miss! Better watch out, she's into those dark arts man!)
Antonio Banderas Spirit smells frui-tay! To be completely
honest, I find Spirit to be a bit too feminine to be considered a
cologne for men. The initial shot of fragrance I inhaled was something
that smelled like dried pieces of apple. I liked it, a lot... but I am
not sure a guy would find this fruity scent appealing. Unless he were a
lil' fruity himself. (Which is WAY cool in my book).
Last:
Anyhow, after spraying Spirit onto my clothing and wrists, I went
about my day like usual. By around noon I could no longer detect Antonio
Bandera Spirit on me skin. I lifted my shirt to my nose to give it a
sniff. Spirit was still present there, but very vague.
The initial high fructose scent was gone, and Spirit took on a new
form of scent. I now smelled spices. Like pizza spice. I guess this is
the masculine half of Spirit. Pizza spices!?
About an hour after that Spirit was no longer detectable. Overall I got about 3 hours worth of fruit and pizza scent.
Overall:
Antonio Bandera's Spirit is not awful. In fact I loved the initial
fruit scent it gave off. I was not very fond of the pizza spices that
followed up shortly afterward. I do think it is a unique scent, but not
something a guy would want to wear regularly. In my opinion Spirit
starts off too feminine, and then too foody. Plus 3 hours of lasting
scent is not very much for the money you spend.
Pricing and Availability:
I am sure you can find this one available at local perfume stores. You
can also find it online. It varies in price from, $26.00 to $50.00
depending on the size you purchase.
(She ran out of the store crying! That fight is a wrap!)
