I have never been a fan of Calgon body mists. I find that the cheap
sprays smell great for a few seconds, and then the scent fades in about 5
minutes after spraying.
When I came across Calgon Perfumes... I got excited. I knew that the
perfume would last a hell of a lot longer then the body mists... so I
splurged and bought a bottle of Hawaiian Ginger, which has always been
one of my favorite summer time scents.
Packaging:
The package is what caused me to take notice to the new perfume.
Calgon Hawaiian Ginger Perfume came in a pretty Hawaiian themed
decorative floral box, with a bright yellow colored box. Inside of the
box you can see the bottle of perfume.
The Scent:
Calgon Hawaiian Ginger has a very floral yet beachy fragrance to it. I
initially smell coconut, mixed with flowers. I cannot completely
describe what the floral note it, but it reminds me a lot of honey
suckle and Lillie's mixed in. All together though you get what smells
like a tropical beach side fiesta. It has a very summery kick to it that
makes it perfect for summer wear. Day or night.
The Myth:
Calgon fragrances are cheap, and the scent does not last long! If it is cheap it won't work.
Fact:
The Calogon 'body mists' do not last long. The perfume's do.
How Is The Perfume?
Calgon Hawaiian Ginger Perfume smells just like the original body mist
Hawaiian Ginger, only, it lasts a hell of a lot longer. A few small
squirts to your clothing and you will smell like a night in Hawaii for a
few decent hours.
The perfume itself has a yellow tint to it, I do not recommend
spraying directly on clothing, as it will stain. Place the bottle at
least a foot away from you before spraying. Then...walk into the perfume mist.
After a few hours the scent fades, however as it fades it leaves
behind a more floral Lilly fragrance that sort o turns into a musk. It's
strange, but very likable.
Pricing:
Calgon Hawaiian Ginger body mist only comes to about $4.00, and the
mist sucks. However spending a few bucks more for the perfume is well
worth it. You can pick up a bottle of Calgon Hawaiian Ginger Perfume for
about $9.99 at any local Walmart. The perfume is also for sale on
numerous online websites. Doing a quick google search of Calgon Hawaiian
Ginger Perfume will bring up many different deals.
Overall:
I like it. It's an inexpensive perfume that you can toss right into
your purse, and not have to worry about it breaking. (It's cheap, you
can buy a new one if it does break).
Although it is cheap, it does the job of keeping you smelling like a hot tropical night in Hawaii.
I find spraying it directly under my arm pits as it's best use! Tee-hee! As your pit's heat up, so does the Hawaiian Ginger fragrance.
Enjoy!
