I have been a fan of L'Oreal HIP for quite some time now; due to the
fact that these cosmetics are a bit pricey, I have been buying them here
and there. If I had the funds I would of bought every damn color in one
shopping trip.
What is HIP?
HIP, stands for high intensity pigments. To put it short; what you see is what you get.
Most eye shadow palettes show gorgeous colors in their compact. Lovely
shades of blue, green, and pink; however when you go to apply them, you
find that the colors are very weak, powdery, and they do not resemble
the color in the compact. L'Oreal though is a different story. The
gorgeous shades that you see lying in the compact, are the same gorgeous
colors that will appear on your eye lids.
The colors are so rich, that a very tiny bit applied to the eye lid can be blended in for full cover.
My most recent L'Oreal HIP purchase was an eye shadow duo, Saucy 818. I
have green eyes, and darker shades on my eye lids will bring them out
and make them look as if they are glowing. I usually apply dark black
eyeliner, and then add a dab of brown shadow to bring out my lids.
Saucy comes in a small compact. Inside the compact are 2 rich colors
of brown. Their is a very dark brown on the left side of the compact,
and a very light antique amber brown on the right. I would compare it to
penny copper more though.
When I first seen the duo, it resembled one that I had purchased in the past, Dynamic 828. Only the colors were a few hues darker.
My Use:
Underneath the shadow duo is a small lift up compartment which
contains a small application brush. I swear if I didn't hear the thing
jiggling around in there I would of missed it.
I don't work well with small eyeshadow brushes, so I went ahead and
used one of my MAC brushes instead. I first dipped into the darker
colored brown, and applied a very small amount to the bottom part of my
lids. Trust me; you don not need to use a lot...this stuff blends like
crazy, and the colors are very vibrant.
After blending the dark brown color into my lid, I then used another
brush to use in the lighter penny colored shadow. I applied this more
towards my eyebrows. I find that applying dark on the lower half of my
eyelid, and then applying lighter colors on the top half, will bring out
my eyes more, while giving my eyelids a very cool airbrushed look.
Where one color blends into the next.
The result was awesome. Although the dark brown color was a little
dark, I found that the results were still striking, as the eyeshadow duo
brought out my green eyes like crazy.
Last:
This is why I absolutely adore L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow! The color
lasts all day. Even if you accidentally hit your eyelid during the day,
the color will stay put, and it will not smudge.
It gets better though; I get absolutely no color creases on my eyelids while wearing L'Oreal HIP, Saucy.
Recommended:
I recommend L'Oreal HIP, High Intense Pigments, Saucy 818 to anyone
with light brown, hazel, or green eyes. I also recommend this particular
color to those with darker skin tones. Truly though, L'Oreal HIP Saucy
will show up on any skin color. I however think that Saucy would be too
dark for those with blue eyes and fair skin.
Overall:
L'Oreal HIP, Eyeshadow Duo, Saucy 818, is yet another excellent
product to add to the list of already excellent HIP eyeshadow products.
Nothing but gorgeous, long lasting, stunning results!
Pricing:
You can pick up a container of L'Oreal HIP High Intensity Pigments
Concentrated Shadow Duo, Saucy 818 for around $7.00-$8.00 at local drug
stores or shopping centers such as KMart, Walmart or Target.
