I am always on the hunt for new self tanning lotions, or sprays. At one
time I considered Aqua Tan the best tanning spray and lotion on the
market, but quickly after making that expensive purchase, I ran out of
formula, and needed to maintain my tan, but at the same time I did not
want to invest nearly $100.00 on 2 tanning products by AquaTan.
I switched over to Sun Lab, with excellent results, but the tan never
stood, and with just 1 shower, I'd be back to my normal color.
I came across ProTan Competition Color, on Amazon while doing
some birthday shopping. I knew I needed a new self tanner, but without
any knowledge on what would be the best I began searching my favorite
search engine for one. I came across ProTan Competition Color, and
nearly ever forum or review I came across swore by this one. Body
builders and models in particular found this self tanning spray to be
the absolute best they have tried.
For under $20.00 I figured, why not?
Packaging:
ProTan Competition Color, was the oddest self tanner I had ever
gotten. This one came in a non-aerosol bottle, with a paint brush sponge
attached to it. Apparently this sponge makes application easier, and
fool proof. I liked the concept a lot, it was like painting on your tan.
How It Works
Basically you just spray the tanning formula on to the sponge brush
that came packaged with the bottle. Once you have enough formula on the
sponge, you just go ahead and paint it on.
Before doing this, exfoliate your skin, and take care not to apply to much on elbows and knees.
Applying ProTan Competition Color, was actually really easy, and there
is no foul scent or gross residue left behind. It is as if you are
applying a skin stain on, and immediately you will have a nice deep tan
going on, once you apply it all over yourself.
The formula will darken over the hours. I used mine in the afternoon,
and before bed time I was a creepy deep dark color. However this creepy
look washes away when you shower or wash your face, and you are left
with a beautiful all natural looking deep dark tan. I was surprised at
how wonderfully it worked, and the results were by far my favorite. I
knew I would never go back to Sun Labs or AquaTan, when ProTan
Competition Color worked so perfectly, and for half the price.
The tan fades with each shower, but not drastically, and you will not
be left with patchy skin. I experienced no breakouts whatsoever.
I apply ProTan Competition Color once every 3 days, and my tan gets
darker and deeper with each application. I am sold for life on this
stuff, and if you do not want to subject yourself to harmful UV rays, or
tanning bed sessions which cost a small fortune, and are bad for your
skin, then definitely switch to ProTan Competition Color, you will love
your results.
