Aveda Control Paste Finishing Paste with Organic Flax Seed says that it
can be used with all hair types. I doubted this, because I have come
across so many products that claimed the same thing, and my hair type
had been the only exception.
Aveda Control Paste Finishing Paste with Organic Flax Seed though, actually impressed me!
According to the box Aveda Control Paste Finishing Paste with Organic
Flax Seed came in, I could use this stuff to deliver control to my hair.
My hair is thick and frizzy, and in order for me to have any control
over it, I have to spend an hour straightening it with an iron. After
straightening, my hair is usually gorgeous, thick, shiny, and full of
vibrant life. However due to there being so much hair, it's hard to
manipulate it to give it style without it getting all frizzy again.
I use glossing spritz sometimes, but they tend to make my hair greasy
looking. I sometimes will use curling irons, but the curls never stay,
or they end up giving me more oomph than I anticipated.
When I was given Aveda Control Paste Finishing Paste with Organic Flax
Seed, I figured I would use it on the ends of my hair to perhaps add
some cute curls, or add some wave without adding puff.
Aveda Control Paste Finishing Paste with Organic Flax Seed comes in a
round plastic jug, with 1.7 ounces of paste inside. When I twisted the
lid off of the jug I was pretty shocked at what I found laying inside.
Basically it looked like a slab of hard old butter. Pretty disgusting
on first inspection. Next I took a sniff. Aveda Control Paste Finishing
Paste with Organic Flax Seed, smells like pine and spices. A nice woodsy
outdoorsy smell, but still a little to masculine compared to the
products I usually use in my hair, which are more floral or feminine.
Next I dabbed in my finger. The texture is like butter as well, only a little more sticky than butter, and not greasy.
It is said that using Aveda Control Paste Finishing Paste with Organic
Flax Seed in damp hair is best, but I knew this wasn't possible for my
hair type, because I HAVE to straighten it otherwise it dries up looking
dull, frizzy and with a 4 foot wingspan of poof.
So I went ahead with my normal routine of drying my hair, then putting
the straight iron to it. Afterward I scooped a small amount of the
paste into my palms and spread it about the ends of my hair in an even
manner. It added a sticky texture to my hair. Once in I began
manipulating the ends to curl up, and it actually worked, but with
minimal results.
The curls I was able to add simply by twirling my hair in my fingers
did stay, but they were loose. Nonetheless though, they were curls, and
it definitely added style to the ends of my straightened hair. I was
pretty surprised, because I actually liked it!
Last:
The curls I manipulated with my finger did last for quite some time,
and stood with me as the day went on. Not once did my hair feel greasy,
sticky, or weighed down. It seemed as soon asAveda Control Paste
Finishing Paste with Organic Flax Seed was dry in my hair, the curls
remained, and the products sticky texture vanished.
Overall:
Normally I absolutely hate manipulating pastes, but Aveda Control
Paste Finishing Paste with Organic Flax Seed seemed to do the job it was
made to do. It allowed me to style my hair the way I wanted, and it
held the curls all day long without loosing its hold. It was amazing
that only a small amount of the product was able to do so much.
I highly recommend Aveda Control Paste Finishing Paste with Organic
Flax Seed to men and women alike. It allows you to style your hair the
way you want it, and it does the job without making hair greasy, or
weighing it down.
