I have been a fan of DKNY fragrances for a bit of time now. Sadly though
I don't purchase anything from the line only because most fragrances
are way to expensive. Worst of all though, nearly every fragrance I have
tried or purchased never had a long lasting scent.
The collection started with Be Delicious. A perfume that I adored, and
actually purchased. However I learned fast that I should not buy on
impulse, because even though Be Delicious smelled wonderful, it did not
last long at all.
Next in the line, Red Delicious. It came in the same cute apple shaped
bottle...it had a very similar fragrance that Be Delicious had...but
also fell upon the same curse. It didn't have a lasting scent.
I pretty much had had it with the 'Delicious' collection. They smelled
great, but did not last. To me, that's just a waste of money.
This weekend while browsing my local mall I came across another 'DELICIOUS' fragrance from DKNY.
Delicious Night.
Of course I was attracted to it, it came in the same adorable apple
shaped bottle that I liked...and the perfume itself was a pretty deep
purple color. I made my way over to the tester bottle, picked it up, and
gave it a squirt.
-The stupid spray nozzle is still the same. I find the spray nozzle
annoying. It is build into the lid, and when you press down, due to the
apple shaped bottle, it is easy to drop.
Scent:
I sprayed Delicious Night onto my clothing, and my wrists. Immediately
I was greeted with a scent that I sort of already knew. It reminded me a
lot of Jennifer Lopez After Dark Glow, only it was a wee bit more
floral.
The scent was not a disgusting one, but it also was not a very pleasant one.
For me Delicious Night smelled a little masculine. DKNY describes it
as seductive, mysterious, and inspired by the sexy buzz of New York City
at night.
Ummm... NYC at night has all types of fragrances. Garbage, sewer smog,
and sweat. I never found anything seductive, or sexy about NYC air at
night.
DKNY Delicious Night is not that bad, but I certainly would put a
unisex label on it. I figure though that men may enjoy this one a bit
more then women.
Last:
I went about my shopping, and wondered if I would smell Delicious
Night later on at home. I wondered if it would break free of the
'Delicious' curse, of non-lasting fragrance.
At home, I was able to smell it! I was not expecting to smell it, but
there it was on my clothing, and transformed into a more subtle musky
scent of freesia.
I liked Delicious Night more that it had worn down a bit, but it was
so subtle that I think only I would be able to smell it...and that is by
lifting my shirt right up under my nose.
Overall:
For me DKNY Delicious Night is decent. I feel that both men and women
could wear this one, as it has a semi masculine undertone to it...the
same musky/liquor scent that you find in After Dark by JLO.
Pricing:
DKNY Delicious Night goes for around $70.00. Gulp!!! It's new right
now, so I'm sure if you wait it out for another month or two, it will
drop in price.
