After Britney Spears released her first scent Curious, with such bade
reviews, I was surprised that she even bothered with the fragrance
market again afterward. Once Curious was released; Fantasy followed
shortly after. Seeing how so many folks thought Curious' scent didn't
last long, Fantasy sort of sat on shelves for the first few months of
its life.
I had seen it behind glass cabinets, and didn't even bother asking for
a tester sniff. However there is no avoiding it when someone gives it
to you as a gift. Fantasy came to my door compliments of my boyfriend
last Valentine's Day. He obviously was not aware that her last fragrance
sucked. He bought it only because the bottle was my favorite color;
pink, and that the bottle had rhinestones embedded into it. Two of my
favorite things, pink and rhinestones.
I popped open the top and sprayed the perfume in the air before
putting it on my clothing and body. The second the first spritz came
out, I smelled a scent very familiar to her last scent. Fantasy smelled
just like Curious, only with a spicy note added to it.
I felt like my boyfriend had been robbed. It smelled almost 100% identical to the last! What gives! What the hippity hey hey ho!?
I accepted my gift though without making a stink. I sprayed some on, did the mmm ahhh yummm noises.
Oh and for those of you who never smelled Curious, it smells like
fresh fruit. It's a nice smell. Fantasy smells just like it, but with a
sprig of cinnamon in the mix to add some warm spice.
Lasting power:
Curious smelled delicious, except the scent would seriously only
remain noticeable for 10-15 minutes after applying it. Fantasy is
Curious all over again but with more lasting power. It seems like
Curious was in its beta form, and the release of Fantasy fixed the error
of lasting power.
Fantasy lasted all day, and I could even detect it on my clothing the
next morning. I was surprised, I thought it would last as long as
Curious did...but it lasted much longer...much, much longer. However
that spicy warm cinnamon smell was just not my cup of tea. Fantasy is a
nice fragrance, but I'm not into cinnamon scents mixed in with fruity
scents like raspberry and strawberry. This is exactly what Fantasy is.
Warm fruit.
Pricing and availability:
Fantasy can be found in nearly every super store imaginable. I have
also seen it in clothing boutiques such as DOTS and Mandee. The price
varies anywhere from $10-$40. The $10.00 bottle is the itty tester type
bottle.
Overall:
I like the smell of Fantasy, but I am not in love with it. The warm
under-toned scent of spicy cinnamon sort of draws me away from it.
Others though that enjoy spicy type scents will love this one. The scent
lasts long, and is sure to please someone out there.
