I have always been fond of Garnier products. My main liking came when I was first introduced to their Garnier hair care
line of products many years ago. Recently though besides hair care
products, I have been noticing more and more skin care products made by
Garnier.
I have been a fan of L'Oreal facial lotions, and Neutrogena, so I was
in no rush to jump into the whole Garnier line of facial care;
especially seeing how the prices for such products were a little...expensive.
When I was offered a free trial sized package of Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream, I jumped on. Who turns down free stuff? Not me, thats for sure.
My trial sized package is different compared to the actual full sized
product. The full sized product comes in a 1.7 ounce jug, with the
lotion slopped into the jug. The jug is safely packed in a wasteful
little box.
The Promise:
According to the package, using Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift
Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream on my face and neck right before bed
would boost my skins resilience, diminish wrinkles, restore firmness,
and intensely moisturize.
It sounded cool, sounded good. Sounded like something I'd get suckered
into buying. I myself don't suffer from major wrinkles, however at 25
years old, I am totally in tune with keeping my skin young and wrinkle
free. I was always told by my grandmother, who at 65 years old (bless
her soul) that if I took care of my skin in my young age, I'd keep it
looking young, even at 65. She seriously had the skin to back up her
claims.
I do however have some minor laugh lines (crows feet) around my eyes that I would like to take care of before they get worse looking with age.
Plus Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream
promised to add intense moisture to my skin, which I could use.
The Lotion:
Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream is
thick cream. I was not expecting it to be so creamy. The texture
reminded me of toothpaste; but without the grainy feeling.
I had a feeling that this would be slightly difficult to blend into my
skin and likely would take awhile to absorb into my skin.
The Scent:
I liked this most about Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle
Firming Night Cream. It has that signature Garnier scent, which to me
smells like fresh clean mountain air, with a little dash of citrus.
All
in all the scent is rejuvenating and energizing. A scent I wouldn't mind
smelling all day long really.
My Use:
I dabbed some of the cream onto my finger and spread it around my
eyes. I was surprised that so little went so far. One itsy dab of cream
and I was able to cover the entire upper half of my face. The cream also
spreads easily, which I didn't think it would. It also absorbs fast,
which is a plus.
Cons:
The main thing that I didn;t like about Garnier Nutritioniste
Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream, was that after applying it,
about an hour later my face felt extremely swampy. As if it had a layer
of some sort of sticky/greasy residue on it. It was a very disgusting
feeling, so I ended up washing my face.
To me it just felt like my face was OVER moisturized. So much so that
it felt like a thin masque of dew had formed on my skin. Not a pleasant
feeling folks.
Pros:
The lotion absorbs quickly, and is easy to spread. Garnier
Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream also has a
really nice scent, that sticks around for a few minutes after applying.
Wrinkle Relief?
Although Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night
Cream left a nasty residue behind each time I used it, I continued to
use it at night just to see how well it would work against my laugh
lines.
Well, 2 weeks into using Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle
Firming Night Cream, and I have yet to see a difference. My crows feet
are just as crowy as they were when I first began using the cream.I know
I should likely use this cream for a month before making a note on how
well it worked against wrinkles. But for me, if a facial cream does not
show some sort of improvement in a 2 weeks time frame, odds are it won't
show any significant results in a one month time frame either.
Most facial creams I have used, at least improved my skins complexion.
Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream so
far hasn't done anything but smell nice, and leave behind a swampy
residue.
Overall:
I'm personally not too fond of Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift
Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream. I do however think that those who
suffer from extreme dry skin would find relief with this cream, because
it sure does a sweet number when it comes to moisturizing your skin.
Where To Buy:
You can find Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming
Night Cream at any local drug store. You can also pick up a jug online
for less.
