John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Satin Shine Finishing Creme - Review

I recently dyed my hair a dark brown, and with my new colored threads, I needed new hair products to accommodate my hair color. Lately I have been extremely impressed with John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette hair products. I fell in love with their conditioner and shampoos, and figured I would love the rest of the Brilliant Brunette line as well.
Recently while purchasing a bottle of John Frieda's conditioner, I caught a glimpse of a small tube which was part of the Brilliant Brunette line; Satin Shine Finishing Creme. I was iffy on purchasing it, because I had remembered using this formula designed for blonde's and not liking it very much.
At only $3.99 on sale though, I figured I would give it a try, and return it if it was crap.
Appearance:
John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Satin Shine finishing creme comes in the typical John Frieda shaped tube they are known for. The cap is located at the bottom of the tube so you can squeeze the creme out easier. The bottle itself is a mixture of different colored browns and golds. On the cover it of course reads the name of the product.
It comes with 4.4 ounces of creme. You can find it at any local super store or drug store.
The Promise:
John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Satin Shine Creme is designed to keep fly aways at bay, while illuminating brown hair tones and creating a silky finished feel.
My Use:
Once home I splattered about a quarter sized amount of the creme into my palms. The creme gave off that funky chemical smell that I am not to fond of. It's plasticy, and soapy all at once...which sort of creates a toxic like scent. Not good!
The creme itself did not feel greasy at all. It had a lotion like texture to it. I was hesitant to put it in my hair, because most hair shining products are a light misty spray. Satin Shine finishing creme is far from a light spray.
I applied the creme...or lotion to my hair beginning from the middle to the ends. I never apply to the scalp area because no matter what non-greasy promise a bottle states, my hair ends up looking weighed down and fugly.
After applying my hair felt a bit nicer, but not very much. The promise of shine was also a crock, because my hair looked just as shiny as it did before adding the creme.
After the formula dried, my hair felt exactly the same. Basically John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Satin Shine Finishing Creme did nothing but leave behind a weird toxic scent in my hair.
I figured perhaps using a bit more would do something...hmmm...nope...but it die leave my hair looking greasy.
Overall:
Disappointed in this one. I usually like John Frieda products, but there is always that 50/50 chance the product will suck....and this one my friends; sucked.
