This weekend my boyfriend was super exited to join this gym, where none other than Randy Couture
would be making a debut. Seeing how the UFC is so his thing, and so NOT
my thing, he made a deal. If I came with him for the 40 minute ride, we
could stop off at the mall, and he would buy me whatever my heart
desired.
Wow! Bad move sucka.
Do I take advantage of this golden opportunity, or do I just ask for something cheap and subtle?
I needed new makeup, that was for sure, and it is not everyday I
can just mosey my way on up to a MAC makeup store and pick out whatever
I want. MAC though is a bit pricey...but hey, it's a lot cheaper than
some designer bag. I figured I'd stock up on some MAC Cosmetics, at
least that way I wouldn't be draining his funds.
I made my way over to the MAC satellite store, and had a cute gal
greet me right away. She asked what I wanted. I knew for one that I
needed a new pressed powder compact, and well... maybe whatever else
looked good.
This was a rare treat, because she asked me to sit down, and she began
applying MAC products to my face. Now I'm really good at applying
makeup. I work with it often, and I am the go to girl for my friends,
whenever they want to look good for a night out.
This chick though, began applying things to my cheeks, my eyes, my
lips, and every other little crevasse she could find. The results were
gorgeous, flawless...and whatever she had used on my cheeks, I SOOOO
wanted.
She told me that it was MAC Beauty Powder Blush, in a color called Secret Blush.
The color was spectacular, and showed so vibrantly, yet at the same
time it went on so naturally. I have used tons of blushes in my time,
but never had they stood out quite like MAC Beauty Powder Blush, Secret Blush.
My boyfriend stood nervously to the sidelines. He hates being seen in
the girly sections at the mall. He approved though, because he actually
came up for a closer look, which is an occurrence that happens once a
blue moon. I think he was so excited about meeting Randy Couture though,
that he didn't care how feminine he looked. It also appeared that he
didn't care how much he spent on me, because he asked... what else do you want?
It wasn't my birthday, but it sure felt like it was. I ended up
walking out with a decent sized goodie bag filled with MAC products.
Things I never got to try before. Secret Blush though, being my favorite
item in the bag.
Packaging:
The MAC Beauty Powder Blush, Secret Blush came to $17.50 for a small
compact. The compact contains 0.21 ounces of blush, which may not sound
like a lot, but trust me, there is plenty of makeup in it for it to last
a good 5 or 6 months with daily use.
Manufacturer's Description Of Color:
The official MAC website claims that the color Secret Blush is a dirty neutral plum, with gold pearl.
My Description:
On my cheeks there is nothing plum about it. On my medium colored skin
tone, Secret Blush has a nice rose tint to it, that highlights my
cheeks and accentuates my face. It is a very natural looking flush of
color, and truly I could not be happier with it.
Overall:
MAC Beauty Powder Blush, Secret Blush is by far the best blush I have
ever applied to my face. It goes on easily with a blush brush, stays
put, and is weightless, making you not only look natural, but feel
natural.
Tip:
If you don't have a blush brush, I recommend you buy one. I however do
not recommend you buy a MAC brush, because the price is around $60.00,
which is just ridiculous! The blush will go on just as nicely with a
$2.00 brush, as it would with their $60.00 brush.
Recommended:
Highly. I also recommend the Secret Blush color to those with fair to
medium light skin tones. This is my skin tone, so I can't recommend it
to others, simply because I have no idea what the results would be.
