Review: Revlon Bedroom Eyes Powder Liner, Fishnet Jet 660

I have always had a love for dark eyeliners. For me the accentuate my eyes, and make them look bigger, while enhancing the green color of my eyes.

I had been for quite some time using an eyeliner jug, which I loved, but at the same time, hated how long it took to apply the liner. These days I'm more about fast, simple, and effective.

When I came across Revlon Bedroom Eyes Powder Liner, Fishnet Jet 660, at my local Rite Aide, I was immediately intrigued. A liner that goes on in a powdered form, yet is applied in the same manner that a wet liner would be applied.

Revlon Bedroom Eyes Powder Liner, Fishnet Jet 660, comes in what appears to be a liquid eyeliner type container. At the bottom there is a small pot, where a screw on cap reveals the actual application wand.

I seriously had no idea what to expect, and the in store advertisement was vague, and showed bland color results on the color menu which was located right below the rack of liners. I went with Fishnet Jet, because on the advertising it appeared to be the darkest color; yet it also looked as if it had some sort of navy tint going on. The word NEW stood out, and I couldn't resist it. I went ahead and made the purchase.

I hoped it worked well, because honestly $9.95 for such a small container is a bit much in my opinion.

My Use:

When I first opened up the package, I unscrewed the top and found that the application wand had a large sponge applicator at the end. A lot larger than what I was expecting. I usually work with thin applicators for neat and precise coloring.

Before applying to my lids though I did a sample test of the color on my hand.

The color was beautiful, and looked nothing like the bland colors that the in store advertisement showed. I also had no clue that the liner had micro glitter in it. For me, being a glitter lover, it was an added special bonus. The liner itself was jet black, and the micro glitter had a gorgeous mysterious purple color to it.

One thing I did not like though was how that some of the powder flaked up on my hand, leaving ugly little beads of the liner around the surrounding area I had colored it. I blew it off, and the line left behind was neat.

Application was easy, and the color was bold and vibrant. I knew though that the applicator sponge was too thick to get this on my bottom lids, without it looking too over done.

What also sucked was that I imagined it on my eye, and there would be no way to blow off excessive clumped powder.

I went ahead and dipped the wand back into the jug and put it to use on my actual eye. I must say that the liner has a near cream feel, but it is definitely more or less moisturized powder.

As I ran the wand across my lid, it did collect the color quite nicely, but at the same time it also left behind trails of clumped powder, just as it did on my hands. I was able to blow up though and blow some of it out of the area, only to have it stick to my lashes. Annoying indeed, but still I was able to get it all off, and have a neat looking color added to my lid as a result.

The glitter was also especially beautiful.

So everything seemed to work out for me right? WRONG!

I was SOOOO disappointed in Revlon Bedroom Eyes Powder Liner, Fishnet Jet 660 because no less than 10 minutes later, I take a gander in the mirror, and what do I see?

I see that the powder liner has added black colored lines to the creases in my lids. I HATE liners that do this! When I buy a liner this expensive, I expect it to stay put. No bleeding into creases, and no smudges!

This was not the case with Revlon Bedroom Eyes Powder Liner, Fishnet Jet 660. It bled into the small creases in my eyes, and also smudged around my eyes giving me that smoky eyes raccoon face look. Not cool!

Overall:

Horrendous.

You can't wear it without it making a mess of your whole face. I had to wash it off, and apply my old liner. It was disappointing because the color was so pretty with the micro fine glitter added. I really wished Revlon would have worked on creating a liner that had lasting power, and didn't leave a mess on your face, before releasing this crap for such a ridiculous price!
