Review of Boots Expert Shine Control Lotion

I've always had a bit of a problem with shine on my forehead, nose, and sometimes even my chin. Although many different powders work well enough for me, having to re-apply these powders throughout the day is tedious, annoying, and not to mention a little embarrassing. Blotting papers also never cut it for me, and I knew piling on layer ofter layer of shine controlling powders was simply clogging my skin, and causing break outs; not to mention making my face look a little leathery.

When I came across Boots Expert Shine Control Lotion, I couldn't wait to try it out, because for one, I had a new fond love towards Boots No7 products, and I figured I had nothing to lose; plus the shine control lotion was under $7.00.

The lotion promised an instant matte finish to my face, and before applying it I first applied my usual daily moisturizer followed by a toner and a beauty serum by Boots. Lastly came the shine control lotion.

I would like to say that this lotion is more like a runny beauty serum than it is a lotion. The serum, is a bit runny, with a nice silky and soft texture to it. Many of Boots products are made with this lovely silky texture, and your skin feels fantastic with it on.

This particular shine control lotion absorbs rather quickly, and does not leave behind any texture though, it goes on silky, but dries out with a nice matte finish just as described.

Now oddly, I have come across quite a few reviews in regards to this particular lotion, and mostly the reviews were negative. I know everyone has different skin, but this one worked perfectly for my skin type. I do not duffer from a ton of greasy shine like others have described, my shine is basically just shine, with no greasy consistency to it, so if shine is your issue, I am pretty sure this one will work wonders for you. However if you have gobs of shine with gobs of grease, this one just may not do the trick for you. That is pretty much the only thing I can say in reference as to why people are hating on this one so much.

For me though, Boots Expert Shine Control Lotion has been a Godsend. The lotion works for me, and it works for hours on end, without the need of a touch-up on my shine control powder, or makeup. It keeps me with a nice even matte finish, and I couldn't be happier. Finally a product that controls the horrid shine demons.

If you have shiny skin, then I suggest you just give this one a try.
