I got such wonderful results using Frizz Ease, Smooth Start Conditioner,
that I figured I could take the smoothing effects an extra mile by
buying the shampoo. I figured using the two hand in hand would make my
hair all the more smooth.
The shampoo comes in the same squeeze tube bottle that the conditioner
does, and I love the fact that they come in squeeze tubes because they
take up less space in my shower, and are easier to use than standard
stand up plastic bottles.
At any rate, the shampoo smells like the same fresh clean scent that
you get from the conditioner. I liked the scent, but it doesn't last.
Smooth Start by John Frieda definitely lathers nicely, and a small
amount goes a long way. After rinsing my hair felt moisturized which is
really nice, seeing that most shampoos leave my hair feeling dry and
course.
As far as results go, I don't know what the hell happened here, I
assumed using this shampoo, followed up with the sister conditioner
would really do a number on my hair, and surely it did, only it was not
for the better.
Oddly enough, my hair actually dried puffy, frizzy and feeling like
crap. I know that's a little un-lady like to say, but seriously I do not
understand how a conditioner alone can work so wonderfully, yet when
you add the sister shampoo the results are bonkers. My hair was left
more frizzed than it probably ever has looked in its entire lifetime.
I use gel, and air spray to tame the frizz and that usually works
wonders for me, however it barely even helped after using this stuff.
All in all, the conditioner is great, but do not use this shampoo
first, or you will end up with some really funky, frizzy and horrible
looking hair. It is rare for me to have bad hair days, but since using
this one, it's all I have had. I used the shampoo twice to see if
perhaps maybe it was just a humid day causing the frizz. I used it on a
cool day, with practically no humidity in the air, and the results were
just the same.
I'm returning this one, as $5.99 is too high of a price for me to just toss the remaining shampoo out in the garbage.
