I almost skipped out on writing this article all together, because to be
honest no one wants to admit that their hair is thinning, especially
women.
My hair is a complex little system though, I have very, very thick
hair, however due to years of pulling it back in a bun, I suppose I
helped recede the hairline a bit, and with recent stresses like learning
that my mother was diagnosed with cancer, stress, financial issues and
abrupt weight loss definitely played a part in my hair line thinning out
a bit.
I never really payed much attention to it, but about 6 months ago, I
noticed it was getting worse, and I had to begin parting my hair to the
side to hide the thinner areas, which was really embarrassing.
As if blessed from the good man upstairs, I was asked to use Nioxin
System 7, which is designed to help with hair loss. I was embarrassed to
even have to use it, but I really had nothing to loose, except more
hair.
The system comes in 3 parts. A shampoo, a conditioner, and a spray bottle.
The shampoo and conditioner have a nice clean fresh scent to them, but
the shampoo was a bit rough on my hair. I stopped using it, and focused
primarily on the conditioner and the leave in spray.
Unfortunately the conditioner bottle was much smaller than the shampoo
bottle, so I used it sparingly only on the thinning area on my scalp in
order for it to last a lot longer than it would have, had I used it on
my entire head.
After showering I would towel dry my hair and style it as usual, and
then spray and pat in the Nioxin Spray. The spray would tingle the scalp
very slightly, but I had to be careful using it, because it has the
same texture as water, and it can run down the forehead quickly if you
don't work fast.
After a month I saw no results at all, which was even more depressing.
I was beginning to think by the time 2012, (if the world did not end), I
would look like a friggin monk.
I know hair though, and hair takes its sweet time growing, so I continued on in my battle against this hair loss.
Finally by month 3 of using the system, I saw small hairs growing all
over the place in the area where I most desperately needed hair.
I was very careful brushing my hair, and removing kinks once I saw
this new growth. I did not want to rip any new hairs out, or cause them
to become unhealthy or break.
It is now month 4, and my thinning area is filled in nearly 70%
compared to what it was. Although the thinning area is still present, it
does not haunt me every day like it used to, and I imagine with
continued use of this system, the thinner areas will eventually fill in.
I am beyond grateful that this worked for me, because I was really
embarrassed about this entire thing, and so happy that I do not have to
feel self conscious all of the time whenever out in public now. I used
to think when people were looking at me, all they were seeing was my
thin spot. Thankfully I no longer have to feel that way again.
Although Nioxin System 7 will not wok for everyone, it is worth a try
to see if it will help you. Time plays a major role in this system, so
be patient, and hopefully, like me, you will start seeing your hair
coming back in, where it belongs. On your head!
