So tonight I was browsing my local Rite Aide and came across the most
gnarly looking lip gloss I have ever seen in my life; I'm talking liquid
kryptonite, a sheer glow that dazzled me, because in the past I would
think that such a glowing color could be found under a black light.
The collection is called Jesse's Girl, Liquid Crystal Lip Gloss,
and after swiping each color I could find over my hand, I ended up
buying 3 colors for $4.99 each. I'm going to focus on Violet.
I came across these lip glosses hidden on a low bottom shelf, but
their dazzling holographic like color scheme caught my eye immediately.
In the tube, Violet appeared to be a mix of high beam purple, and a
yellow tint. I was not expecting it to be pretty, but the second I
tested the color on my hand, I was shocked at the bright neon like
glowing effect it gave off.
It was as if the warmth of my skin activated this lightning bug purple
glow, and it was awesome. I honestly have no other way to describe it.
I could not wait to get home to try it out on my lips. I had no idea
that when I got home my $4,99 purchase was nothing more than crud in a
tube.
I was expecting it to work just as well on my lips as it had on my
hand. The neon purple glow, the superman like kryptonite shimmering, the
awesomeness that captivated me in the store... it was, sadly,
non-existent on my lips.
On the lips what I got what a light plum coloring effect going on, and
no purple neon glowing like I was hoping. Oddly enough, on my hand the
color looked phenomenal.
I wondered if this had something to do with my lip color in general. I
swiped Violet onto my lips while wearing no lipstick, so I hoped if I
painted on some red lipstick, that this lip gloss would come to life. No
such luck. I was seriously disappointed.
I then accidentally wiped a little bit of it onto my black purse, and
the color seemed to glow like crazy. It was then that I got the idea to
swipe some of onto my lips on top of black lipstick. Now I am no fan of
black lipstick, but I had a good feeling that the black undertone would
allow this color to shine and glow like crazy, as it had on my black
bag.
Low and behold, my wish came true. Liquid Crystal Lip Gloss, in Violet
came to life immediately showcasing it's near sun beam glow of purple
and blue. The best part about it was that it completely hid the black
lip stick, so I did not have to worry about looking too goth, or creepy.
The Violet color on top of black lipstick however is not for everyone,
as it is a very, very deep sapphire blue and purple mix that is left
behind. If this is not your color scheme, than skip out on violet. If
this unique mix however sounds right up your alley, than you will find a
lot t love about Jesse's Girl, Violet Liquid Crystal Lip Gloss.
It is by far one of the most unique lip glosses you will ever come
across. On nude lips though, the color does not showcase quite as
perfectly as it will on top of black lip color.
I added 2 photos. My camera had a hard time capturing the glowing effect that this color gives off, but I did my best.
