I normally try and pass whenever Lush releases a bath bomb that contains
flowers. Nearly every bath bomb I have ever gotten from them that has
contained flowers ends up becoming a huge disgusting mess when I am done
bathing, and need to drain the tub.
I find myself having to spend 10 minutes sopping wet, and naked while bending over a tub to clean up rotten flower goo.
However there was just something about their Fox in the Flowers bath
bomb that I just wanted to try. I know that the mention of 'lime tree
flowers' was what made me want to try it. I had never heard of such a
flower, and I wanted to see if this bomb would offer a delicious 7UP
like experience. Bathing in warm 7UP... weird, but it seemed right up my
alley.
When my Fox in the Flowers bath bomb arrived I was a little shocked to
see that the bomb was actually a light colored green, and not white
like shown on the website. I said it once and I will say it again; Lush, you guys really, really need to work on your advertising, because nothing is really ever as it seems!
Had I not tried the English Countryside bath bomb already, I honestly
would have thought it was sent to me again. However Fox in the Flowers
smells nothing like English Countryside. Its close, but not close
enough.
At any rate, I could smell this bath bomb right through the package,
and I was in love! It had a very vibrant and addicting floral scent that
I could just die for. Unfortunately for me I didn't detect anything
lime about it, but it was so good though that I didn't mind.
I ran a bath, got in and plopped in Fox in the Flowers. Immediately
the bomb started fizzing up, and as it did globs of dried flowers came
floating up to the top of my bathwater creating little puddles of pretty
colored pink and white flowers in certain spots in the tub. I also
found a bunch of flowers that we here in NY consider weeds. No matter
though because to me these weeds have always had a delicious floral
scent.
Scent:
The scent was truly potent. The more the bomb melted the more it
released the overpowering floral scents. I smelled rose in an abundance,
and lavender was also very potent in the mix.
Some may consider Fox in the Flowers an old lady scent, and actually
I'd have to agree. However the scent is very relaxing, and it does not
stick with you after bathing, which for me was a little disappointing,
because I really liked the smell. Some though may be glad the scent is
not long lasting on the skin.
The scent is however long lasting in the air, and I was able to smell the notes of rose in the air for hours after showering.
Results:
I absolutely loved Fox in the Flowers. The bath bomb is not the best
one when it comes to adding moisturization of softness to the water
though, which was a bit of a downer. Most of Lushes bath bombs leave the
water feeling like a silky heaven, but Fox in the Flowers doesn't do
much to the water at all.
My bomb though did dye my bath water a light
pale gray color, which was very weird consider the bomb I got had a
green tint to it.
After drying off, my skin felt clean but not pampered.
Clean Up:
Oh yeah, there definitely was an annoying clean up required after
using Fox in the Flowers. Tons of little flower heads, stems, and leaves
were covering the bathtub floor, and I spent a good 6 or 7 minutes
fully cleaning out the tub after bathing. Annoying, yes but I enjoyed
Fox in the Flowers throughly. I wished it would have left the water
feeling softer, but all in all it's a pretty damn delicious bath bomb...
even considering the messy clean up.
Pricing:
Fox in the Flowers comes to $5.75 for a 6.3 ounce bomb. It's well worth it in my opinion. Click for photo
