Review of Lush: Tiptoe Through the Tulips Soap

Whenever I went online to place an order from Lush.com, Tiptoe Through The Tulips handmade soap would always be out of stock. I imagined this was due to it being a spectacular bar of soap, however, when I finally got mine, I was a bit disappointed and baffled as to why this particular bar was always sold out.

On the Lush.com website, they show a large bar of green soap filled with all dried out tulip flowers and leaves.

The website also describes this delicious looking bar of soap as having the ability to fill the entire room with scent. It is supposed to smell like an English garden as well.

My Tiptoe Through The Tulips though seemed like it was missing just about everything but the green colored base. My Tiptoe Through The Tulips Soap had no leaves, no flowers, nothing at all. Not a seed, not a stem, just green glycerin based soap.

Through the packaging though that Lush wrapped it in, I could indeed smell a delicious floral scent that I really loved. That gorgeous floral scent though totally 100% transformed in the bath.

In the bath, as I began washing with Tiptoe Through The Tulips Soap, I was no longer getting that flowery fragrance I smelled before, instead Tiptoe Through The Tulips Soap seemed to transform into some off plastic scent. The scent wasn't horrible, but it was as far away from an English garden, as the sun is the earth.

Tiptoe Through The Tulips Soap does lather up quite well into a creamy soft bubbly mix that feels more like a silkening lotion than it does a soap, and I really loved the lather, however the more and more I lathered, the more and more overbearing the fake plastic scent got.

Results?

Tiptoe Through The Tulips Soap rinses away easily, and left my skin feeling a little tight. There was not really anything drying about it, but for those with sensitive skin I imagine you may come across an issue with it.

After getting out, I realized the plastic scent was gone, which was actually a good thing. My skin though felt clean, but it didn't do anything as far as moisturizing my skin.

All in all, Tiptoe Through The Tulips Soap is not one I would order again. I've come across far better bars of soap from Lush.com. Tiptoe Through The Tulips Soap is not one I'd even recommend due to the plastic fake scent it gives off once you are using it in the water.

Too bad too, because it smelled fantastic, up until I put it in the water with me.

I was also extremely disappointed in the fact that my bar looked absolutely nothing like the one shown on the website. If I see flowers, I expect them, and Lush lately has really managed to disappoint me when it comes to giving their customers what their customers see on the site! In fact, I'd even say that this practice is illegal seeing that you have to give your customer exactly what YOU advertise! Just a little lesson in false advertisement. Lush could really use a lesson.

I definitely would not have spent $7.95 for this 3.5 ounce bar if I knew it looked anything like it really does. Click to view.
