I have seen Lushes Psychodelic Bubble Bar on their website for months
now, and every time I'd place an order I skipped out on it. I was basing
it solely on it's ugly appearance of blue, white and orange mixed
together to form an ugly round bar. I guess the colors just never
appealed to me, so I never ordered it.
Recently though when attempting to fill my cart with $99 worth of
items, because of the free shipping promotion, I slipped in a
Psychodelic Bubble Bar, and I am so glad I did.
Lushes Description:
According to Lush.com Psychodelic Bubble Bar should be used for those
mad, mad, mad, days. It is supposed to refresh and uplift the spirit. It
contains spicy cinnamon, soothing sandalwood, uplifting cardamom,
refreshing orange and lemony litsea cubeba.
To me it didn't sound like it did that much, but with it being so cold
outside lately, I figured the cinnamon would be a nice way to warm the
senses up a bit.
My Description:
Once my bar arrived, I liked how the bar resembled the actual bar they
display on the website.
However my Psychodelic Bubble Bar was as hard
as a rock. Usually I cut my bubble bars in half to use them for 2
separate baths. This bubble bar though was difficult. Once I did cut
through it though, I knew I was going to have a very hard time crumbling
this one under running water, because the damn thing felt like a stone.
Most bubble bars I have gotten from Lush are usually very soft, and
very easy to break apart. In fact, some have even come delivered
crumbled up.
Psychodelic though, was a different story.
Scent:
The scent out of the package was pretty bland, but detectable. I was
hoping that once I broke this one up under running water, the warm scent
would ignite. was right, because as soon as I got to running it under
hot water, the scent began to fill the room, and it was frigging
gorgeous. The warm spicy cinnamon hit my nose first, followed by what
reminded me of orange spice.
All in all the scent was gorgeous. Warm, spicy, and addicting. A scent
that would definitely put me in a very relaxing calm mood.
My Use:
The bubble bar as I imaged was also very difficult to crumble under
running water. This was the hardest bubble bar I have ever gotten.
Anyhow, as soon as I held the bubble bar under running water, it did
manage to spray out an array of luscious looking bubbles on the surface
of the water. I was really surprised at just how many bubbles I got from
using just half the bar.
The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush was my all time favorite, till I
came across this one. It gave off so many bubbles, and the bubbles were
lightly scented of cinnamon, and best of all the bubbles outlasted me!
About 30 minutes into my bath, the water started cooling down and I got
out. The bubbles that I got with Psychodelic though decided to stick
around a little longer.
I was very, very impressed.
Overall:
Psychodelic Bubble Bar is hands down my favorite bubble bar from Lush.
I really did not think I would ever find one as good as The Comforter,
yet here it was, this small hard bubble bar known as Psychodelic taking
first place.
This one is an absolute must try.
Pricing and Availability:
Psychodelic comes to $6.95 for a 3.5 ounce bar. I recommend you cut it
in half and get 2 uses out of it, because using the whole thing would
probably overfill the tub with bubbles.
