Review of TRESemme Protein Renewal Creme

How can you deny a product that promises 97% less breakage after just one use? It's pretty difficult, but with such a low price attached to TRESemme Protein Renewal Creme, I did not have huge high hopes for it. In fact I almost left it on the shelf to grab a bottle of my Matrix Biolage, but seeing that my funds were tight that particular day, I went ahead and bought this creme.

The Scent:

There is nothing special here, and TRESemme Protein Renewal Creme reminded me a lot of the newer scented Pantene conditioners. A high note of freshness, with a little dingy after tone of fresh fallen rain. It's an OK scent, but a lot of shelf brand lower end products smell just like that, so there is really no wow factor when it comes to this creme's scent.

My Use:

This one can be used just like any old conditioner, although I had to really read the back of the tube to understand whether or not it was a leave in cream, or something you need to wash out. For future reference, I do hope they clearly label that a bit more eye friendly on the front cover, as I am sure it is costing them sales.

I rinsed my hair using my standard Biolage shampoo, and then went ahead and begin to cover my hair with TRESemme Protein Renewal Creme.

The creme is very thick in consistency, but not too thick, where buildup would be an issue for my thicker hair type. For those with thinner hair, possibly an issue with buildup would occur, but for those of us with that thicker unruly hair type, this consistency means luxury for us.

I let the conditioner sit for 5 minutes for a deeper longer treatment, and then washed it out.

The thing that I did not like about TRESemme Protein Renewal Creme, was that even after rinsing the creme out, my hair did not feel all that clean, so much so that I wanted to really pair it up with another conditioner just to get that slick clean silky feeling my hair is usually left with, when I use my other brand of conditioner.

I decided though to not taint the results by mixing, and I let it be to see how my hair would dry.

97% Less Breakage You Say?

I have to admit, even though my hair did not dry in the soft silk like manner I was used to, when I began to style my hair with my flat iron, I noticed pretty quickly that small hairs were not breaking off as I ironed my hair or brushed it, and this was an issue I always had when it came to ironing my hair.

Although my hair did not feel like it's normal soft self after showering, I was pretty happy that when hot ironing it, that the breakage was far less than what I was used to.

Overall:

So TRESemme Protein Renewal Creme does not leave your hair feeling super clean after rinsing it out, but it will definitely leave it stronger and healthier than what it once was, which was a major surprise seeing that it cost under $6.00 for the tube.

It's a win in my opinion, so for those that suffer with breakage, or brittle hair, this one could be a quick fix to save your hair.
