I had been a repeat buyer of Estee Lauder's Double Wear Foundation for
about 4 years. However as much as I loved the foundation and how
incredibly long is lasted, it did not really do much for my skin as far
as illuminating it, and over time it seemed to make my skin seem duller
and duller.
Granted I will still use it, I just wanted to dive into the realm of
locating something with the same long lasting wear, yet with the benefit
of making my skin look more alive.
I had picked up quite a few superstore brands like Maybelline, Revlon
and so on, however none of them offered the type of quality I was
looking for, and sadly I knew that quality meant more money that would
have to be spent. I decided to give MAC a try. I went with their MAC Pro
Longwear Foundation in NW40, which on my skin gave a beautiful summery
sun kissed tan color. If you are pale, you will want to avoid this color
as it is pretty sun drenched with a bronze hue. If you have a medium
skin tone, or are already tan this color will blend perfectly.
Application:
I love, love, love the bottle that MAC put their MAC Pro Longwear
Foundation in. The bottle is not one of those yucky screw tops where you
have to dip your finger in. Instead the bottle has a unique twist
mechanism that allows you to open it in order to pump the serum through a
small tube. You can then twist it back to lock it in place so it does
not accidentally squeeze or pump out while you store it away in your bag
Before applying the foundation I first use a skin serum in order to
keep my face moisturized. I do this because it is good for my skin, and
also throughout the years I have found that long wear foundations dry my
skin out a bit.
When it came to applying MAC Pro Longwear Foundation, it went on like a
charm, and the smallest dab on your finger truly will travel, so you do
not need to funk your face up and add a whole lot of this one. It
glides on and spreads easily, and once it dries your skin is left
looking bright, and rejuvenated.
What I personally liked though was the fact that it did not clog
pores, or leave my skin looking dry, dull or uneven. The foundations
goes where you put it, and it stays there.
Last:
MAC Pro Longwear Foundation lasts quite some time, but it does of
course have one downside. My issue is that I tend to get oily skin on my
forhead as the day goes on. If I blot the area, the foundation will
come off, which leaves me having to apply again, or add a powder to the
area.
All in all though, most foundations, even those super long lasting ones tend to have that same drawback.
Overall:
MAC Pro Longwear Foundation is a very good foundation. I would not
call it the best foundation I have ever used, but it definitely gives my
skin new life, and it blends well with other foundations I already
have. In my opinion it was worth the $30.00 spent, and it gives much
better results than those $10-$15 brands you find at super stores. Much,
much, better results!

MAC Blot Powder Loose, Medium
I've been in love with nearly everything I have ever purchased from MAC Cosmetics...once a blue rare moon though I will come across a product that just downright sucks...and unfortunately my latest $21.00 MAC purchase downright sucks.
The Product:
MAC Blot Powder Loose, Medium.
It is meant to allow you to do fast touch ups on your makeup. It is light, airy, and easy to wear... however I bought it in a medium shade, so while expecting this blotter powder to not only cover up shine... I also expected it to give my skin a slight tint of color. Nearly every other blotter powder I have used easily has the power to do so... so why not MAC? Besides, what would be the point in calling the shade medium, if in fact the shade is frigging translucent.
Yep, MAC Blot Powder Loose, Medium, is in fact translucent. Which sucks; however it would not of been so awful if MAC Blot Powder Loose, Medium would have at LEAST covered any shine that my face were to give off during the day.
I applied a blot here and there to my forehead, and the shine was still VERY MUCH present. MAC Blot Powder Loose, Medium, did not a damn thing.
My list of aggravation's goes on though, the above is not all.
Packaging:
The new blotting powder comes in a much smaller sifter pot that the loose powder once came in. It now comes in a small plastic pot, but attached to the pot is a screw off lid, with a sponger blotter attached to it.
I was convinced by the sales girl that buying the powder in this pot was better, because it was mess free.
Stupid me, I buy it thinking convenience.
The sifter pot where the sponge lies is too big to even allow any of the powder to really make it's way onto it. So constantly I had to dip the sponge, screw on the lid, shake like a mofo, and hope that SOME powder stuck to the sponge. Repeating this over and over again is bothersome.
Overall:
This will be the very first MAC product I have ever returned. It does nothing, the container is very annoying, and it was way too much money for what it did...which was nothing...it did however give me a headache.

M.A.C. Eyeshadow Review
I know it sounds crazy to go out and spend $14.00 on eye shadow. But if you build your collection slowly, it's not that big of a financial deal...so long as you limit yourself to one per visit. Hah!
So I went overboard this week. Shoot me.
My Latest Find:
MAC Eyeshadow in the color Nocturnelle
The Color:
You can't go by the color chart that you see on the MAC website, because they have their shadings way off.
Noctornelle is described on the website as a 'pinked up chrome purple' (with a frost finish)
What you get in the actual store/mail though is a more marooned rose color with flecks of reddish brown glitter. More reddish than brown.
Skin Tone Recommendation:
If you are pale, skip Nocturnelle all together. It is vibrant, and will make your lids look infected, and or give off a stoner appearance.
For those with medium/dark skin tones though Nocturnelle is a gorgeous color for the lids, and will really make your eyes pop.
I recommend you use Nocturnelle, and a dark eyeliner over it, with a lighter color gold shimmer for the upper lid. Blend of course.
Last:
The thing I love about MAC Eyeshadow is that a little goes a long way, and where you apply it, is where it shall stay for the remainder of the day. You don't have to worry about it smudging, sticking to creases, or giving off gross eyelid shine.
Application:
MAC Shadow's go on with ease. If you want you can apply it using the tip of your finger, or you can use an eyeshadow brush.
I prefer using a thick eyeshadow brush. I swipe it across the small palette of color only once, and then sweep it across my lids. I then blend it into areas where I want it lighter, or darker.
Overall MAC Eyeshadow, Nocturnelle is a gorgeous color, that stays put. For me, MAC sells one of the highest quality shadows I have ever used. I cannot recommend it more.
