Review of New S by Shakira, Perfume for Women

Mmm delicious, Glamour magazine delivers a thick, thick surprise this month with tons of new must have makeup trends. My guilty pleasure however is not necessarily the newest trends in makeup, but my reasoning for coming back month after month to this magazine is the fact that they deliver anywhere from 3 to 5 new perfume samples within its pages.

S by Shakira is the primary focus today.

The Bottle:

S by Shakira has an odd mod bottle shape to it, which reminds me of a squished light bulb due to the nozzle top it has on it. The nozzle as a small hook attachment that hangs slightly to the side, from the hook hangs a small charm in gold containing the perfume's S emblem.

It's probably one of the ugliest perfume bottles I have seen in awhile, as I am not sure what they are trying to represent, or what the point is. At any rate I get modern Egyptian when I look at it. Ugly though, very ugly. The perfume itself is a burnt yellow giving off a nice warm piss color.

The Scent:

I hated the bottle, so what? I hate lots of perfume bottles, I just happen to hate this one more. The ugly outside however is long forgotten once you get a whiff of S, by Shakira.

It smells simply delicious. It has a sweet warm vanilla drop cookie fragrance going on, with a nice little touch of lemon drop that I just love. It reminded me a lot of Lolita perfume I recently purchased.

As the scent wears thin however it transforms into a stronger more masculine musky fragrance that is equally enjoyable. All in all though, for the most part it smells like a lemon pastry, light, mouth watering, yet strong enough to demand attention.

Last:

The only difference between that perfume and S, is the fact that S lasts much longer, and has a heavier scent to it that lingers around in a more potent, but delicious manner.

Overall:

I am never all too fond of celebrity fragrances, and JLO has been the only celeb, in my opinion that manages to impress time after time. S, by Shakira though has managed to make another fan. I will continue to seek out new releases by Shakira, and hope they are as delicious as this one.

Review of Perry Ellis, Night, Fragrance for Men

When I first got around to using a sample of Perry Ellis Night, I had no idea that this adoring scent was one for men. Granted it could be a unisex scent, it is made for men. However it's so nice that I imagine women will silently pick this one up for themselves.

The Bottle:

Perry Ellis Night comes in a black bottle, with a plain black topper. The topper is rather large and feminine looking so it easily could be mistaken for a fine scent for women as well.

As far as the bottle being worthy of keeping once the scent is gone though, depends on your collecting habits. Night is rather bland as far as visual appeal goes, ans likely you wont keep this bottle.

The Scent:

The first scent that hit me when it came to Night was it's lemon like refreshing tickle. It's nearly a pine lemon scent, one you may associate with furniture polish, however the light bay breeze scent mixed it transforms this household scent into something a little more magical, and less Mr. Clean. Granted my description of the scent may not sound too wonderful; the scent truly is.

At the same time though, Perry Ellis Night is very familiar to another scent that many of us already know and love, and to me that is CK One. Calvin Klein One is a legendary favorite, a timeless scent that never grows old. Night smells like it in many ways, with its own little unique spin off, which I think many perfume and fragrance addicts will love.

Last:

So it is true, there is a lot to love about Perry Ellis Night, but the love affair can quickly die, especially if the feelings don't last. In this case, the scent.

So how does Night way in as far as lasting scent goes?

Well rest assure, Perry Ellis Night can remain your secret lover, as it will last and last and last some more. This new fragrance packs a long and powerful last, one that will impress not only yourself, but those around you.

Overall:

A win, win, win. Perry Ellis Night in my opinion will be loved by both men and women, ands truly I wish they bottled this one up as a unisex fragrance, that way I wouldn't have to feel so weird whenever I purchased it.

Review of Perry Ellis Platinum Label, Fragrance for Men

When I first got my nostrils caught up in the wondrous whirlwind of new Perry Ellis Night, a fragrance for men, I was thrilled to have been given a sample of Perry Ellis Platinum Label. I hoped it would deliver a similar twist to Night, only more elusive, refined and naturally platinum. So how does this one weigh in?

First the bottle. I love the bottle of Perry Ellis Platinum Label. It's got this high beam silver finish, which some of you may recall seeing on JLO After Dark Glow, a unisex fragrance. The Perry Ellis Platinum Label bottle has that same eye catching mirror glaze to it, which I am sure will be worthy of saving even once the perfume is all drained out.

The Scent

Sadly, for me, this is where Perry Ellis Platinum Label fails to impress. A nifty eye catching bottle fails to pack a nifty scent in its pretty shell. It is not necessarily a bad scent, it is just one that has been done over and over again. A fragrance you can find in Calvin Klein, Usher, and mobs of other designer fragrances for men.

I cannot blame Perry Ellis though, they are just following the trend of what is in, and what is making sales. However if you were looking for some new unique spin on fragrances for me, stick to your old school CK fragrances.

Last:

Where some make the mark, and other fail to impress when it comes to long lasting scent, Perry Ellis Platinum Label makes the mark and passes with flying colors, as this scent will stick around for quite some time. A few squirts on a jacket and you will still take in whiffs of the scent a day later.

Overall:

All in all Platinum Label is a decent scent. Is it one to go wild over? Far from it, as you will recognize it as all too familiar the moment you sniff in traces of it.

Review of Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

Whenever I begin to run low on my makeup removal towelettes I seek out a new stock of them, but I usually look for something new as I never stick to the same product for too long, as I notice that my skin gets used to it, and it won't work as well as it did at first.

With my stock running low, I came across a little something new called Yes To Cucumbers Facial Towelettes. I did not know much about this company, but I had always seen their 'Say Yes To Carrots shampoo and conditioner', and as much as I longed to try it, I just didn't like the scent too much, nor the price. These facial cleansing towelettes however were right on as far as price goes, and I was already well aware of how wonderful cucumbers were for my skin, so $5.99 later, I walked out with my green bag of 30 towelettes, and hoped they would do a good job at removing my makeup, and of course leaving my skin nicely nourished as promised.

The Scent:

Yes To Cucumbers Facial Towelettes smelled like cucumbers, but not a realistic tint of the fragrance, it smelled more processed, and old. Granted it was not a horrid scent, it was not one I enjoyed all too much either.

The towelette however is nicely saturated in formula, and a lot of companies who make wet towelettes never add enough formula, so it was nice seeing that my Yes To Cucumbers Facial Towelettes were drenched in the goods, and that I would not have to use more than 1 towelette.

My Use:

I wiped this one along my eyes to see how well it did on a first swipe of my eyeliner. It managed to mess my eyeliner up, but it did not sop it up onto the towelette like other towelettes have done in the past.

I had to swipe at my eyes a few times more than I would have liked, as I do not like stretching the skin in that area, nor having to wipe the area so often. This one however had a really tough time at makeup removal, and this was a major disappointment, because it was primarily why I bought them.

The towelettes did a well enough job on my cover up however, but on dark black eye makeup, it just fails to make the mark.

My skin afterward did however feel very clean, nourished, and moisturized.

Overall:

If eye makeup is not your thing anyway, then by all means go ahead and purchase this one, as it will leave your skin feeling fantastic. Other than that though, these towelettes are not for everyone.
For me, Yes To Cucumbers Facial Towelettes is just mediocre. It does a good job at cleaning your face of makeup like cover-up or powder, but if you are looking for a fast and tough acting removal of eye makeup, this one will disappoint.

Review of Perry Ellis, Fragrance for Men

This past week I had the pleasure of getting freebie samples of fragrances for me by Perry Ellis. This set included 3 different delicious fragrance's, and the one up on the chopping block today is Perry Ellis. Noting fancy to follow; just simply Perry Ellis, which I imagine is their first scent in their growing collection of fragrances for both men and women.

Perry Ellis comes in a standard bottle, nothing fancy or worthy of keeping afterward. It has some sort of unique embellishment on its bottle, but I am not sure it was necessary, I suppose it just allows the bottle to stick out amongst its competition.

The Scent:

The problem I have with fragrance's for men, is that most of them all smell the same. A fresh scent with a masculine spice added to the mix. Mostly though, many of them smell like bug spray, only with a hefty jaw dropping price tag.

Perry Ellis follows suit to the trend of bug spray type scents, only they add in a little something sweeter, which sets this one apart from it's other bug repellent friends. As the scent fades down a bit it subsides into a more mellow musk like mixture, which is still very masculine, but less buggy-be-gone, in scent.

Last:

Another plus besides the unique fragrance is the fact that it sticks around. Many designer cologne's do it right, and others fail to have a long lasting fragrance, Perry Ellis however did their fragrance right by making it one that lasts and lasts, thus making this scent all the more desirable.

Overall:

It's manly, it's long lasting, and it is one that the ladies around you will like. All in all I find this particular fragrance for men a winner. If you are having a tough time buying holiday gifts for that special fellow in your life, then check this one out for him.

Review of Peace Love and Juicy Couture, Perfume for Women

It's a bit surprising to see Peace Love & Juicy Couture being released this fall considering the fact that this particular fragrance is way more suited towards spring and summer scents. However this is what sets this one apart from the rest of the dark amber's and heavy deep antique rose scents that seem to flood the market during this time of year.

Peace Love & Juicy Couture is a breath of fresh air, and actually I am glad to see this one hitting up shelves as it gives me something t look forward to after this chilled season comes to an end.

The Scent:

This particular newbie in the Juicy Couture line smells like a basket of summer. What you have are tons and tons of florals that come lightly floating out of the bottle and into your senses. Close your eyes and easily you can be taken back to a summers past memory.

The florals are heavy, but light at the same time. No sneeze fest here folks. After the waves of flowers wisp by, you begin to take in sweet notes of apple, which stands out quite heavily once you begin to break down the scents layers. I definitely think the apple scent is what makes this one such an alluring winner in my book. Apple fragrances are my favorite, and especially a favorite fall scent, so Peace Love an Juicy Couture did this one right, adding the summer florals, with a unique fall twist, by adding a delicate, yet noticeable note of apple! Mmmm!

Last:

So the verdict is in. I am in love with this scent. I hoped though that as lovely as it was, that it would last. Most fragrances impress me at first the way Peace Love and Juicy Couture did, but sadly most fail to continue to impress me, due to the poor last.

Love Peace and Juicy Couture lasts, and this really places this scent into the realm of must haves, and must have again, and again after the fragrance is drained from the bottle. In my case, it will be empty pretty fast.

The Bottle:

Whenever I review perfume, I like to put in my 2 cents on whether or not the bottle is worthy of collecting, as I do collect and save bottles that I find attractive.

Unfortunately I won't be keeping this bottle once the scent is gone, as it is a little ugly, and immature for my taste.

It's a clear rectangular stand up bottle, with a fa pink tassel wrapped and hanging from the neck. Around the neck besides this tacky pink tassel are blue beads that also sit around the neck of the bottle. For some, you may ind the bottle interesting, but for my liking it is just too loud and ugly.

This however does not distract from the lovely scent that resides within.

Overall:

Love Peace and Juicy Couture is a winner. It packs a unique summer scent with a twist of fall, making it a scent all its own, and completely unique to anything else I have yet to come across.

Is She Worth Playing With? Review of Givenchy Play For Her, Perfume for Women

Givenchy Play For Her is one of Givency's newest fragrances for women, and it comes in one of the most unique perfume bottles I have come across in a really long time. The bottle itself will trick you into thinking it is some sort of ultra girly mp3 player, due to the fact that it contains a play, fast forward, stop, and rewind display embedded into the bottle toward the bottom. Rimming the mp3 wanna be are tons of little crystals that add some bling to your bottle.

It's definitely a bottle worthy of keeping due to the unique gadget like twist they added to it.

So the bottle is cool, yes, but how does the scent come in to play?

Givenchy Play For Her is a very light scent, which smells powdery and all too familiar.

At first I hated it, and continued to hate it, as it reminded me of a fragrance I recall smelling years earlier; one that I was never fond of.

Play For Her is a powdery amber scent that is low key, yet the type of stink that gets to me and envelopes me in this cheap sickening powdered amber. It reminded me a lot of a spin off on bath and body works sensual amber. Granted Sensual Amber is a decent scent, Bath and Body Works kept making spin off scents that simply stunk; like Givenchy Play For Her. It stinks.

Last:

Luckily the stink is not long lived, which in my case was a good thing. For those of you whom do like this scent however, you will be irked with the fact that it will only stick around for a few short moments before completely dissipating into nothing.

Overall:

Sorry folks, this one just fails to make the cut for me. It is over priced, cheap smelling ad generic, and a scent that smells way too familiar to something that has already been done; over, and over again.

Combine a sickening scent with nearly no last at all, and what you have is a waste of money; so do yourself a favor and sample this one first before going out to buy it.

A Delightful Spinoff- Review of Miss Dior Cherie L'eau, Perfume for Women

Not to be confused with the original, Miss Dior Cherie; Miss Dior Cherie L'eau is the latest spin off of the original fragrance and is more geared towards those who were not too fond of the strawberry fruity scent that the original gave off. L'eau in fact is as far from the fruit factory as Cherie could get with this round of perfume for women.

The Bottle:

Strikingly familiar too the original, and it is no wonder so many consumers grew confused. The only difference in the bottle you will find with L'eau is the added little script L'eau written on the bottle, and the lighter colored liquid inside of the bottle.

As far as those of you whom collect bottles, sadly L'eau is not one worthy of hogging up space. However her fragrance beckons for your attention with its light sweet ad clean notes.

Scent:

L'eau is a light floral scent with an after drop of rain that adds a nice refreshing earthy vibe which many will enjoy. It gives off a spring mood, and although it would be considered a spring or summer scent, I find the fragrance to be suiting for just about any season as it seems to transform into a low key musk that is very light, but still captures the senses.

Last:

With L'eau being such a light scent, I worried that the last would be short lived like most dewy fragrances similar to this one. However Miss Dior Cherie L'eau packs a long lasting scent which sets this one apart from it's refreshing scented competitors.

A few spritz to clothing in the morning, and L'eau will shine on till the afternoon. A winner in the lasting fragrance department, if you ask me.

Overall:

Miss Dior Cherie L'eau is not necessarily a must have fragrance, but if you happen to come across it for a low price, then it is definitely worthy of picking up. Light refreshing florals, with a long lasting punch. Not too shabby!

Mmmm... Review of Spiced Apple Soap by Savon a La Pomme

When I came across a bunch of soap tins at my local Marshall's for just $3.99, I figured I would scoop a few of them up as they all had a festive holiday seasons greetings logo etched into the tins. I usually always scoop up cheap extras like this in case someone I was not expecting, shows up to a family holiday party. Having extra gifts on hand are pretty much a must in our household.

One particular soap however caught my attention above all of the rest, Apple Spiced Soap, by Savon A La Pomme. Another odd foreign name offered by Marshall's.

Out of curiosity and my love for apple scented fragrances I had to pop the lid on the tin and see what spiced apple had to offer.

Surprisingly I was in love. I did not expect to love it as much as I did, as most of my soaps come strictly from Lush. However with no Lush nearby, and this soap smelling better than Lush's apple scented soaps, I went ahead and bought it, as it smelled so delicious, like spiced apple. A red delicious apple scent that was both realistic and juicy, and a nice hint of cinnamon that was not over powering.

Combined this one smelled like warm apple cider, and I knew I would not be giving this one away, as it would be staying with me.

Use:

When I got around to using Spiced Apple, Savon A La Pomme I was excited to see how well it would work. Would it leave behind the delicious holiday spiced apple fragrance, or would it transform into some mediocre scent that smelled nothing like what it smelled like dry.

I am happy to report that the spiced apple scent does get released while you run it along your body in the shower. Its therapeutic to say the least, and smells fantastic.

Lather is pretty weak however, and the soap does not create a whole lot of suds to work with.

The real problem was, after rinsing off, the scent rinsed off as well, leaving behind not a trace of the delicious spiced apple scent.

This soap could have been a top favorite of mine had the scent stood with me, even for a little while, only it never did. It does however leave you feeling squeaky clean, and the scent will stick around in the bathroom for a few hours as well.

Overall:

I like the experience in the shower, I like smelling the warm cider like fragrance fill the air, and I like that it sticks around in the air. I would have loved if the scent would have stuck with me though. All in all Spiced Apple by Savon A La Pomme is a decent soap. One I would buy again for this price. It also makes for great stocking stuffers, or to have on hand for holiday parties when an unexpected guest arrives.

It is not the best soap in the world, but it is far from the worst.

Review of the Original Miss Cherie Dior, Perfume for Women

I like fruity fragrances well enough, although it is not my top favorite scent category, as I prefer deep sultry musks above and beyond any other fragrance. I do like having fruity fragrances on hand for quick pick me ups though, or fun and flirty occasions, as the scent is much more mainstream and casual.

The problem with many fruity fragrances for women, is that most of them smell very similar. You have an apple scented perfume, and suddenly there are 30 others sitting on the same shelf, giving off the same familiar notes of either apple, mandarin, melon, or cucumber. It gets sickening after a while, and to truly peak my interest the scent has to be unique and all its own.

When I finally got around to inhaling my very first sniff of an original called Miss Cherie Dior I must say, I really liked it. There is a floral spin off of this scent called Miss Dior Cherie L'eau, and it is as equally delightful as the original which is what I am reviewing today.

Miss Cherie Dior simply smelled delicious. Its very first note is a light sorbet strawberry patch, which is sugary and warm like strawberry shortcake. I am sure many of you out there can still remember what your Strawberry Shortcake doll smelled like? Well Miss Cherie Dior has that same sweet and sugary strawberry deliciousness about it.

So I loved the scent, but did she have any last?

The last on this particular perfume is just so-so. It does not last long, but it also does not vanish away immediately. I got about an hour of last before I could no longer find hints of the scent on my clothing or wrist. This would be problematic because I do not like carrying glass perfume bottles around with me in my bag to do touch ups on the hour.

Unfortunately with Miss Cherie Dior, I would have to carry the bottle around if I planned on making it my scent of the day.

Overall:

A delicious scent indeed, however the last is way too short lived for this designer fragrance, with its designer price tag.

Review of Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser

I had seen Olay's Pro X collection of anti aging products, but avoided them as many of them are exclusively packed in plastic security containers, and something about it does not make it seem alluring, but more intimidating, too intimidating to even pick up.

I'm no stranger to high end moisturizers, lotions, or facial products to improve my skin, but when it comes to Olay I always had mixed feelings. Granted 90% of the products I have used by Olay have worked really well, I have never spent over $20 on any product by Olay, as to me they have been mid priced products, with mediocre results.

So when I saw that most products in their newest Pro X collection were heavily priced, I avoided them. That was, until recently when I came across a tube of Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser, on sale, and not residing in a plastic case, for just $8.99. Although that is a bit much compared to what I would usually spend on facial cleansers, I was interested in what this collection had to offer, and if I liked the lower end exfoliator, perhaps I would cave and try their pricey kit.
My Use:

I had no idea what to expect from Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser, but when I squeezed out some of the formula onto my hand I was surprised at its clear gel like coloring. It's like a grayish clear, sort of like Vaseline in a way, with the same consistency so it seems. When I got to scrubbing it on my slightly wet face though, that was when the magic unfolded. You cannot see them with your naked eye, but there are tons and tons of micro flecks within the formula that polish the skin. I would not necessarily call it an exfoliator, as many are harsh, Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser is more like a skin polish.

There is a slight scent going on, even though it claims to be fragrance free; but it's nothing harsh or floral or fruity like many other of Olays exfoliators. This one is more spa like, with a more professional quality to it, so the name is suiting to how the product actually looks and feels; professional.

After rinsing, my face was left feeling so clean, so polished, and so fresh. It seemed to have removed any traces of dry skin, and left over makeup.

Overall:

I like it. It is not my favorite exfoliator, but I do like it, and would use it again if I could find it at this lower price. I still prefer LaMer over this one, but who wouldn't prefer LaMer over this one?

At any rate, it's semi decent pricing. It could be lower, but all in all it's a good cleanser and will leave your skin feeling sparkling clean and polished.

Is It Any Good? Review of Dolce & Gabbana La Roue De La Fortune 10

I came across a large gift set of Dolce & Gabbana scents that I did not even know existed. Within this set a little rectangular ugly bottle filled with blue colored perfume resided.

It was rather ugly, and I would not keep the bottle once the scent is gone, however I was very excited to see what the scent would offer, since I had never even heard of Dolce & Gabbana La Roue de la Fortune 10, before.

To be honest when I first opened the gift set, I thought that the bottled fragrances were reed diffusers, that's how ugly they all were.

When I removed the twist lid, I was also disappointed to see that it had no spray nozzle. It's one of those annoying bottles you have to tip over and slowly pour onto your skin, which just takes forever, and could end up spilling all over the place if you are not careful.

I learned afterward that this set I picked up was an Anthology set, and the numbers represent tarot cards. I would have never guessed that on my own. Call it whatever you want though, the bottles are still poorly done, and even the label stickers on the bottles look so generic and ugly.

My focus however was what was going on inside of the ugly bottle.

The Scent:

When it comes to La Roue de la Fortune 10:

Loves it!

La Roue de la Fortune 10 has a distinct and obvious rose note going on, and I am very, very picky with rose scented fragrances because many of them smell way to antique, and way too strong and disgusting. More like a moldy rotting flower than a fresh clean rose.

La Roue de la Fortune 10 however did it right, this rose scent is like a fresh blossoming rose bud, with hints of dew on the blossom. It is refreshing, clean, light, yet easily noted. As it begins to fade it transforms into a vanilla hint, but the rose is still obvious, and still lovely, almost as if the sun came up to evaporate the dew. Simply scrumptious.

Last:

La Roue de la Fortune 10 has some last to it, around 2 hours or so until the scent is no longer detectable. There is not much last going on here, but it is better than most designer fragrances.

Overall:

If you love the scent of newly blossomed roses, than you will enjoy this one. It is more modern, and less grandma, and it smells simply delicious. I would definitely recommend this one to those interested in it.

For the Young and Old Alike, Elmers Totally Glamorous Spa Kit- A Review

I absolutely love taking baths, and Lush is by far my top favorite go to company for when I need to stock up on luxurious bathing goodies. However due to the fact that Lush is nowhere to be found in my neighborhood, or anywhere within a 45 mile radius, I sometimes will scoop up tid bits of products I find here and there, and give them a try.

My most recent find, was probably my most interesting find. I came across a heavy kit called Elmer's Totally Glamorous Spa Kit. Now the kit is made for children, but being the bath lover that I am I figured it would be fun to try out for myself. Normally this exact bath fun kit rings in anywhere from $20.00, all the way up to $40.00, but Marshall's had this one for sale for $9.99, so I bought 2, one for me, and one for my little niece who loves bath time just as much as she loves her aunt.

The kits box displays a cartoon like drawing of a woman in a tub full of bubbles. In her hand she has chemistry glass tubes, and the entire vibe of it makes you excited to get home and start mixing up your own bath.

Things inside the box however are not as pretty as what one would imagine, and even though this one is made for children, creating the soaps and bath bombs will require help from an adult.

Inside you have generic labeled bags of sea salt, dried rose buds, baking soda, dried oats, a glycerin heart shaped bar of soap, eye droppers, oil in either lavender or peppermint, and 2 mixing cups.

Everything in the kit can be mixed up to create your own scented bath mix. The instruction manual also shows you how to use your items to create things such as soaps or bath bombs. Being impatient though, it was unlikely I would get around to making the bath bomb, but the soap on the other hand I knew I would try my hand at, at a later date.

Instead I just sort of started mixing up oils, salts, and powders to create my own aromatherapy bath mix by adding oats, rose buds, and peppermint oil.

The rose buds were a bit disappointing though because they smelled like the peppermint oil, and not roses at all. Granted in the bath tub, floating around it did add to the relaxing vibe.

Now in the tub my water did not have a nice silky quality to it, which was disappointing, but the peppermint oil definitely left it's mark, and it was like bathing in candy cane scented water, which was nice and uplifting.

You can add your own food coloring, but I was hoping it would have come in the kit, only it didn't. I didn't have any on hand, so I was forced to do without it. If you do get this kit, try and make sure you either have food coloring on hand, or that you pick some up.

Overall:

All in all I think The Totally Glamorous Spa Kit was well worth the money I spent. I would have liked more items in the kit like food coloring, and more scents to work with, as you only get 2. The mixing cups could have been a little larger as well, but overall anyone who loves bath time will enjoy mixing up their own scents even though their choices will be limited.

Will Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel Really Help Get Rid of Breakouts in Just 8 Hours?

Once in a while I will get breakouts, and it's annoying because it makes me feel gross when my skin is not in tip top shape. Luckily I do not suffer from sever acne, but even a pop up here and there can make you feel that way. I have tried everything, and most products either dry skin out, or irritate it and make breakouts occur in litters, instead of just a few pimples or small zits here and there.

I had seen commercials for some sort of on the spot pen, but when I went looking for it, I came up blank. I went with Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel instead, as it promised to not only reduce break outs in just 8 hours, but it also promised to minimize and fade post acne marks. Thus the 2-in-1 addition to the name.

I had a nice big nasty growth on my chin and all I wanted to do was zap it away, and watch it fade away in 8 hours as the package claimed it would.

The tube that the gel comes in is rather small, but this one is designed to target particular bumps and break outs, and not meant to just be randomly spread all over your face. The gel itself has an orange coloring to it, it is easy to find on shelves, as the orange color will stick out on the package.

I twisted off the cap and squeezed very lightly on the tube to release some of the gel. The pimple was not open, but the moment the gel touched my skin I felt a stinging like zap. It was not at all painful, just surprising. Like it just killed all of the gross bacteria within the skins surface.

8 hours? No.

Immediately? Just about.

The pimple was pretty plum and disgusting before applying the gel, and within just a few minutes it was reducing in size, redness, and it was drying up. As if the filthy monster was slowly dying.

It took just 1 more small graze of the gel the following day to completely zap the pimple gone. I did have a small layer of dry skin in the area that I simply brushed away.

Overall I was pretty shocked at how quickly, and how well this particular gel worked. I will not leave the house without this one now, as you never know when a little nasty will pop up on you trying to ruin your day. Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel is like zap away, and it's gone.

I would recommend this one to anyone who has an occasional pop up, and no longer wants to deal with it.

Will Dream Water Lullaby Lemon Really Help You Sleep? Find Out Here!!!

I came across Dream Water sitting lined up on the outskirts of the health section at my local Kmart. Being an insomniac for years, I have tried just about every single little thing that is available on the market. From aromatherapy baths, non habit forming pills, sleep maker noises, and so on. Nothing works, and the ones that do stop working after about a week of use.

When I saw Dream Water, I had a pretty good feeling that it wouldn't work, but being the curious consumer I am I grabbed one and flopped it into my cart in a Lullaby Lemon flavor.

The water itself contains ingredients to help you fall asleep, and there is even a nifty warning on it stating to not operate heavy machinery after ingesting. I began to think that maybe the water would work, maybe I could drink myself to sleep. Yeah, we will see.

Being no stranger to shots of strange flavored energy drinks, I had a hunch this would taste horrible just like every other mini shot.

Lullaby Lemon was no exception. It did taste rather disgusting, but luckily not to the point where I was gagging. The lemon flavor is as artificial as it gets, with a sugary powdery Gatorade like flavor, which I never liked. It is tolerable enough though.

Supposedly within a half hour or so I would begin to feel the effects.

So did I? Did I drift off into a lullaby like sleep?

Nope.

I was wide eyed awake all night, and into the wee hours of the morning, just as I usually am.

So the verdict is in. If you are a chronic insomniac this one will not do a damn thing for you. I swallowed the crusty rusty flavored Dream Water all for nothing. Not once did I even feel a tiny jolt of sleepiness, or relaxation after drinking it.

I imagine for those of you whom do not have real bad issues sleeping, it may do something for you, but if you are anything like me, where sleep is only for the living (zombie), this one is just a waste of money.

Review of Badgely Mischka, Perfume for Women- Is It Any Good? Stink or Sweet? Find Out!

I adore stopping in at Marshall's every week to see what odd newbies I will discover. I make it a point to always stop off at their perfume section to see if there is anything new, or anything priced really low. This week I snatched up a gift set of perfume and body cream. Up on today's chopping block is Badgely Mischka perfume for women, by Badgley Mischka.

I got yelled at unfortunately when I tried to get a sample sniff of the perfume, as I hate buying before trying. The mystery can sometimes be fun when you have never smelled a fragrance before, but I have been burned this way as well.

I was going to put it back, but it came with such a decent 3.4 ounce bottle size of perfume, and a nice large jug of cream that I figured I would take the $25.00 mystery home and test it for myself. If I hated it, I'd bring it back and if asked why, I'd just let them know they should place samples around the shelves and that it stunk.

The bottle itself is pretty standard, nothing fancy, a few neat cuts here and there to give it a gem like appearance, and the perfume itself is a pretty amber color. When it comes to amber colored fragrances though in my experience many smell strong, and many smell antique or old fashioned. I prayed Badgley Mischka smelled more modern and less grandma.

My Use:

One spray and I was hooked.

It is definitely strong and demands attention, but it is not one of those gross stinks you would expect. It has a fruity syrup like quality to it, with cherry, and a nice sharp spiced note of patchouli, without smelling like a dirty hippie.

The mix of spice and syrup fruits is actually done up rather nicely, and the lasting power is simply phenomenal. Worn I smelled and felt rich, classical and elegant all in one. Old, yet with a modern zing to it, and it was done right.

The last in particular stood with me for the entire day, and into the night where it did die down a bit in potency, but still just as lovely.

All in all, I will seek this one out as I run out of the perfume. It was well worth the money spent, and I am glad that this surprise mystery fragrance turned out to be as good as it did.

Does Thicker Fuller Hair- Cell-U-Plex Pure Plant Extract Conditioner Really Thicken Hair? Find out in this Review.

I have thick hair naturally, but at times when it is straight it will fall limp and look less thick than normally. Showering to get back that rich fluffed out thickness is tedious, and not something I have time for on a daily basis. Hair sprays work, but they only add residue to the hair which could result in dirty looking hair, or in some cases, hair that looks even flatter than before.

I had never spotted Thicker Fuller Hair- Cell-U-Plex Pure Plant Extract Conditioner in super centers before, otherwise I am sure I would have tried it out ages ago. I did however come across this one randomly in a supermarket for just under $5.00.

The reason I brought it home, besides the promise for thicker hair, was the fact that it had such a unique scent to it.

Now the scent of Thicker Fuller Hair- Cell-U-Plex Pure Plant Extract Conditioner is not something everyone will enjoy, however if you are a bit odd and like oddball scents than the weird mosquito repellent like scent that this particular conditioner has will either attract you to it, or repel you worse than an actual bug.

Me, I loved it. In fact I hoped the scent stood with me, as well as plumping up my hair a bit for longer lasting thickness.

My Use:

I showered and shampooed using a standard bottle of shampoo, one that I would normally use, nothing fancy. I have found over the years that the conditioner is what mainly leaves hair in it's condition, and it never really matters what type of shampoo you use. The same rings true with this conditioner, so go ahead and use whatever shampoo you normally would use in the shower, followed up by a decent sized amount of Thicker Fuller Hair- Cell-U-Plex Pure Plant Extract Conditioner.

Results:

The odd repellent scent does not last at all, so if you were afraid to try this one due to the odd scent than rest assured that you will not have to worry about this smell being stuck in your locks. It vanishes as you rinse it out.

My hair was left feeling silky, very clean, and manageable.

I let it air dry as I normally would, and straightened my hair afterward. As it air dried I did notice some plumping going on, but it was more frizzed than usual. However if you straighten your hair you will find joy when it comes to this particular conditioner, because it will leave your straightened hair a lot thicker, and looking a lot fuller, so in ways it does do it's job.

If you have frizzy hair naturally, you will want to straighten your hair, otherwise frizz will overcome you.

Overall:

It worked wonderfully for me on straightened hair. However if you let your hair air dry after using this particular conditioner, expect it to look a little frizzier than usual.

Review of Lush Karma Solid Perfume

About 2 years ago I discovered the potency that comes packed within Karma Soap by Lush. The scent was so powerful that it actually overwhelmed me, however a day later when the scent wore off, I longed for it like a fein for an addiction they can't cure.

Karma became an obsession, but over the years the Karma Soap sadly lost its potency; either that my body chemistry was just not reacting to it the same way, and the soaps scent would wear thin. I tried the bubble bar about a year after my soap obsession, and sadly was not as impressed with the staying power.

I eventually gave up on Karma all together, but kept the Karma Dusting Powder nearby for nights when I longed for the rich and powerful fragrance of patchouli. A hippies dream dust, this powder is potent, but like the bubble bar the fragrance is short lived.

When I saw Karma was being sold in a pure perfume form, I was excited. However the price steered me clear, especially considering how little of the fragrance you really get. More recently though I noticed they were selling a Karma Solid Perfume, which was selling for a price I was willing to pay.

I am no stranger to solid perfumes, and although they are not a favorite of mine, I must admit they have just as much lasting power as perfume, if not more.

The Karma Solid Perfume is small, if you can imagine a larger lip gloss, or lipsmacker tube then you have the picture in mind of exactly how big the tube of Karma Solid is. Small, but my goodness, the smallest of dabs to your neck and wrists is all you will need for this scent to truly begin to take over and surround you with its warm patchouli fragrance.

Here is the best part though, and the reason I'm ordering more of these sticks today...it has, hands down, the longest, and strongest lasting power of any Karma product by Lush, that I have yet to come across. I am am talking day to not long lasting wear, without an ounce of fading.

Karma is not a scent for everyone, in fact some hate it. However if you already know and love the Karma fragrance by Lush, you will find love in this scent all over again in a newer, longer lasting form. What I love about it, besides the long lasting kick, is the fact that it is small enough to toss in my bag and take along with me to dab on those who compliment the scent.

Review of Lush Bearded Lady Bath Bomb

Every year I hit up my favorite bath and body company, Lush. I hit them up mostly during the winter because I know they will have a slew of new holiday themed items. When I saw a large bubble bar called Bearded Lady, I knew I couldn't not try it, as this one may not be around for another year, and that is only if Lush decides to bring it back next year.

Bearded Lady is actually pretty ugly in person, but it's no gem on their site either. It looks like a Santa Claus face gone horribly wrong. Without ever trying it though, and knowing it would probably deliver some sort of holiday scented treat to my bathing experience, I went and placed my order and awaited my Bearded Ladies arrival.

The added chocolate chip pieces for eyes created a creepy vibe, but whatever, Lush is legendarily known for adding sweet extras like this. If not food, fruit, or florals, it had to be chocolate, which is perfect considering it is a holiday limited time bubble bar.

My Use:

Bearded Lady is rather large coming in at 3.5 ounces. I cut mine directly in half and saved the other half for another bath.

Now the scent is very Lush like, it has that candy powdery zing to it that lots of Lush goodies have, but with an added twist of tangerine to the mix. It also has banana in it, but I never smelled this coming from the bubble bar.

I crumbled Bearded Lady under hot running water and waited for it to do its magic. Thick frothy bubbles began to form immediately, and the candy like smell lingered a bit, but nothing too potent. The tangerine scent just faded and was not even recognizable once the bubble bar had turned to bubbles.

Granted the scent was weak, the experience in the bath was not. The bubble bar added a warm red coloring to the bath water, due to the red dye in the Bearded Lady's hat. The water itself was completely flooded with bubbles on the top layer, and the water had turned a nice silky soft which is what I love about Lush the most. That silky soft feeling it leaves behind in the water, which simply feels divine on the skin.

The bubbles lasting power was also very impressive, and remained till I got out of the tub and the water grew too cold to stand anymore.

After getting out, my skin was lightly kissed with the delicious sugary candy scent, and it was also very soft feeling, which lasted for hours and helped me get a nice nights sleep.
Overall:

So Bearded Lady is a little ugly to look at, but once you crack her up under running water she transforms into a beautiful bathing soup which you will just love. The scent is light, but lasts, and it leaves your skin soft and moisturized for hours.

Two thumbs up and 5 stars from me. I will definitely be stocking up on Bearded Lady before she is sold out!

Review of Lush Calavera Bath Ballistic

Now we do not have a Lush store within a 50 mile radius, so whenever I need a fix, which usually happens once a year, I place orders on past favorites, and I seek out new products on the Lush website. This was basically how I ran across Lush, Calavera Bath Bomb.

On the Lush website, Calavera Bath Bomb looks like a sherbet ice cream ball, with mixes of green, orange, and pink. The Calavera Bath Bomb that arrived to my door however looked a little pale.

It was mostly white on the outside, no, scratch that, it was all white, with some pink sugar crystals at the top, but not nearly as pink and beautiful as what I saw on the website. I didn't mind much, I figured that once in the water it would fizz up and the beautiful sherbet colors would flood my tub, and tantalize the senses.

My Calavera Bath Bomb however got skipped in the artistic department, as when it began to fizz and melt away the only color residing within my bomb was blue. Granted it was beautiful, and Calavera smelled simply scrumptious, the color party was very lacking, and this was disappointing.

The Calavera Bath Bomb contains flecks of marigold petals which you will see as the bomb begins to melt. The added touch was nice, but it really looked like orange juice pulp. The scent is lovely, and to me it smells just like orange cream soda, or orange sherbet, or starbursts. It's delicious to say the least.

The interesting thing about this bath bomb was how it fizzed away. The white part of the bath bomb turns into a nice frothy silk foam, which will cover the top layer of your bath water. The color hidden in the inside fizzes more like a bath bomb. My only color was blue though, so nothing special came of it. The water for me turned a stormy gray which was sort of ugly, but did not distract from how soft and silky it made the bath water feel.

The scent does last on your skin after bathing with Calavera, but it fades into a more powdery pixie sugar stick scent. It is nice, but different from what you experience in the tub.

Overall:

Even though my Calavera Bath Bomb was lacking the colors it was supposed to contain, it was still a wonderful bath bomb just as it was. The scent was delicious, the bath water turned to silk, and it left my skin lightly touched with a nice candy fragrance that lasted. To top it off my skin was also left very soft, silky, and moisturized. A winner in my book, and a bomb I would highly recommend. 4 stars from me, due to the lack of color.

Review of Lush Summer Pudding Soap

The main reason I picked up a bar of Summer Pudding Soap from Lush was due to the fact that I just about must try every new release of theirs, however the real reason was that it reminded me of Sultana, with it's extra bits of fruit added to the soap. It was pretty, how else could I put it? With that said, the lovely shards of pink glycerin soap added in to a creamy based soap looked pretty as well. The cherries added to the soap were simply the cherry on top. This soap looked like art, and I wanted to bathe with it.

My soap on arrival however never looks as pretty as the ones we see online. Mine was lacking majorly in the pink department, and my cherries... well there was only a half of 1 in the top of the soap. What I got was a sad looking bar of grayish white cream colored soap, with flecks of almonds which are used for exfoliating.

Where my bar lacked, it made up in this department, as mine seemed flooded with nothing but sharp shards of almonds. I have pretty tough skin and nothing bothers it too much, but these almond pieces were just too harsh and rough on my skin. Granted I love a good exfoliation, I do not like feeling like my skin is being abused, and that is pretty much where I left off when it came to Summer Pudding.

The Scent:

Summer Pudding Soap is not my favorite scent, as nothing seems to cream Angels Delight or Sultana and Karma. Summer Pudding is not bad though, its a nice creamy fizzy cherry soda pop like stench which I liked well enough.

The scent however does not last, which is odd considering you are opening your pores up so much with the deep exfoliating properties.
Overall:

I wouldn't buy Summer Pudding again. I didn't enjoy the rough pieces of ground up almond flooded throughout the soap. I hated that my cut contained no pink glycerin soap, as I am sure this would have weakened the roughness of the almonds, and I didn't care much for the scent or the lack of moisturization.

I am glad to have cut a sliver from it to try it, as I will be wrapping it up and passing it on to someone else.

Review of Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes, Evening Sooth with Chamomile & White Tea

After going through a bunch of different trials with different brands of wet cleansing towelettes I ended up finding my way back to the very first wet cleansing towelettes I initially started with; Ponds.

The reason is because they add more liquid to their towelettes than other companies, and they cost half of what some of the other name branders look for.

My most recent pick up of Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes however came with 2 try me packages of their newest additions to the wet cleansing towelette family. They have a morning towelette with citrus and cucumber now, as well as an evening wet cleansing towelette called Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes, Evening Sooth with Chamomile & White Tea.
I was excited by the new day and night concept, because I use a wet towelette every morning before putting makeup on, and then again at night to help remove that makeup. It was neat that a company finally decided to release a double doosie of facial cleansers designed for both day and night.

I worried though about them being doused in fragrance as my face tends to break out whenever strong scented products like lotion or serums are used. Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes, Evening Sooth with Chamomile & White Tea had a strong scent, a lovely one, but again, I worried.

The scent is definitely soothing, and relaxing to the senses, as well as the skin. The white tea fragrance is more prominent, and smells simply delicious. The chamomile sort of takes a back seat, but it is recognizable.

Does It Work Well at Removing Makeup?

Like the original, Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes, Evening Sooth with Chamomile & White Tea, does in fact easily wipe of makeup, and the towelette is large enough as to where you will not need to use more than one towelette. Its doused in enough formula to get the job done, and leaves skin feeling moisturized, relaxed, and calm.

Will It Cause Breakouts?

I woke up the following morning to a nice clear face, no overnight pop ups or issues with my skin whatsoever.

Review of WoodWicks Frasier Fir Electric Scent Diffuser

A few weeks ago I tried out my very first WoodWick candle, and I have been smitten ever since. My favorite in the collection of candles I have tried thus far, hands down, goes to Frasier Fir.

The reason this scent managed to win my heart was due to its extreme realistic Christmas tree scent. A fabulous Douglas fir scent that simply cannot get any more realistic than the real thing.

After looking for another candle in this scent however I came up empty handed. I did manage to grab hold of another scent, and the product up on the chopping block today, a Frasier Fir Electric Scent Diffuser. Also known as, a wall plug.

The wall plug diffuser does not look like anything special or unique compared to any other run of the mill wall plug you could find, however the scent is one you cannot find anywhere else. Granted you can find realistic Fir tree scented candles, or diffusers, none of them will smell quite as realistic as this one.

This diffuser however has a major drawback, and could very well be the reason I wouldn't purchase more refills for the diffuser. Read on:

I plugged the included vile of oil into the diffuser, and plugged it into a wall socket. It took about 4 hours for me to walk through the kitchen to actually be able to smell the fragrance. However once it started going, the fragrance grew stronger and stronger.

By night, the entire room smelled perfect; just like the upcoming holiday!

Sadly by morning, the scent was gone, completely and utterly gone. In order to smell any note of it at all I had to place my nose right above the diffuser in order to smell it. I hoped this was an odd phase or something that would pass.

Unfortunately that was not the case at all, the scent never returned back to its thick and delicious holiday potency. It was as if it gave it its all, and then decided to retire. The bulb of oil is more than half full still, and no scent is dispersed from it anymore.

All in all this one was a waste of money. I will buy the WoodWick candles still, but as far as their diffusers, or refills go, I'm going to have to skip, which is unfortunate, because it worked so good the first day I plugged it in.

Review of Lush Fizzbanger Bath Ballistic

After reading the description and numerous review on Lush's website in regards to their newer addition Fizzbanger Bath Bomb, I knew I had to try it. I love a nice cinnamon spiced fragrance in the fall and winter,
and reading that this bath ballistic would deliver not just cinnamon, but an apple scent as well, I figured I could not go wrong.

The bomb that I ordered online looked similar to the one shown on the website, only my Fizzbanger was more pale in comparison.

The scent before plopping it into the tub though was nor cinnamon or apple in my opinion. My Fizzbanger smelled like a high potent note of lemon, and frankly, I loved it.

In the bath, Fizzbanger though delivered quite a few surprises.

First off it begins to fizz and crackle due to the pop rocks added to the bomb. The outer shell gives off a foamy layer that drifts over the surface of the water. As the bath bomb melts more I began to see little a little bit of blue coloring which was located at the center.

It looked more like a robins egg than it did anything else, and it was pretty. The scent was still lemon like to me, nothing woodsy or cinnamon at all. However as the blue center began to emerge more and more the scent became more candy like, with an apple like zing to it. Nothing you would catch though unless you were to hold the bomb under your nose while it was melting and fizzing away.

The bath water turns to silk though, and the blue coloring of the center of the bomb begins to slowly turn your bath water into a grayish color; not the deep robins egg blue that you see in the center. I did not mind though because my bath water turned so soft, and so silky and just felt fantastic on my skin, as if I were bathing in silk water.

Moisturizing is also a plus when it comes to this bath bomb. Once I got out of the tub my skin smelled lightly touched with a kiss of powdery candy, and it was beyond soft and deeply moisturized, which is exactly why I continue to return to Lush for my bathing goods time and time again.

All in all, Fizzbanger Bath Bomb is a pure delight. It has a more lemon like fragrance going on, but the scent transforms in the tub, and it leaves behind a candy sugared perfume like scent on your skin. The moisture therapy you get for your skin from this one is also very appreciated and welcomed.

Fizzbanger gets 4 out of 5 stars from me, and I would highly recommend it. I took away a star due to the lack of cinnamon notes.

Nicole by Opi, Pitch-Black Glimmer Nail Polish

I've been in major love with Nicole by Opi nail polishes these past few months. Whenever browsing my local Target I pick up a new color just about every visit. My last visit was no exception.

I spotted Pitch-Black Glimmer sparkling like a night fantasy on the shelf, and immediately knew I had to have it. The base color of the polish was black, but the shimmer residing within the base is what initially caught my eye. There are beautiful and very obvious micro flecks of silver glitter, but combined within this silver glitter I could spot beautiful eye catching hologram glitter flecks that gave off a nice shimmer of rainbow with every subtle movement of the eye.
In the bottle the color looked fantastic, and knowing from my own past experiences with Nicole by Opi, odds were it would look just as lovely on my nails as it did in its bottle.
My Use:

I have to say, Pitch-Black Glimmer is probably the very first nail polish I encountered by Opi that I was not all too fond of once I got around to using it.
I had to paint on 3 coats of the polish for there to be a full color coverage. Usually 1 coat is all I ever need when it comes to Nicole by Opi. Pitch-Black Glimmer however called for 3 coats, and still the cover was very lacking.
On the nails, the color also does not look as shiny and lovely as it does in the bottle. The black and silver coloring is basically all that shines through. The holographic rainbow like flecks of glitter barely shine at all.

All in all, I am not too happy with this particular color. Getting it off of my nails was a difficult task as well. The nail polish remover had a rough time removing the glitter from my nails, which was a pain in the butt.
Overall:
I do not care for this one, I would have liked the hologram shimmer to show up a lot more than it did. I will continue to by Opi products however, because this is just one bad egg in a bunch of other colors that look wonderful.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure: Silver Lining Nail Polish

Initially I was on the hunt for a nail polish color called Hidden Treasures by Sally Hansen. It belongs to the Complete Salon Manicure collection, and after seeing numerous photos online I fell in love with it. I guess when they said it was hard to come by, they truly meant it.

I prowled the isles at Rite Aide, and sadly was not able to find it. I did not walk away empty handed though, as another color in the collection sparkled in my eyes. It was called Silver Lining, and in the stores bright lighting the color looked like a beautiful holographic blue, purple pastel shimmer. The base of course was a sparkling, and alluring silver color.

Now I have done silver before, and frankly never liked it all too much on my nails. However the hologram looking appeal in the bottle called to me. I figured if it looked bad alone, I could always use a coat or 2 for a top layer on a darker color, for a different finish.

Mostly it reminded me a lot of Sally Hansen's Nail Prisms, which released years and years ago. Yet they are still popular as people are actively seeking them online.

My Use:

When I first twisted the cap off and removed the brush, I was happy to see that they used the same brushes in the Quick Dri collection. The brush is a wide thin brush which makes swooping the polish on in one quick swipe a heck of a lot more fool proof.

I dipped the brush in, and went ahead and began to paint my nails. The color went on smoothly and nicely, no clumps or dried polish to ruin the flawless cover.

The color in fact was flawless. It left behind a nice light and delicate touch of silver sparkling lights. My finger nails looked shiny, and as sleek as ice, but I wanted 1 more coat to see if I could really amp up the sparking shimmer.

The polish however dries a little bit slower than what I am used to. Opi in particular has some really quick drying polishes.

Once the color dried I added yet another coat of Silver Lining nail polish. It did in fact intensify the sparkling glimmer.

As the polish dried completely my nails were left looking phenomenal. The shimmer however in poor lighting does not show off quite as vividly in bright lights. In fact, in less lit rooms the Silver Lining color looked to be nothing more than metallic silver.

Seeing that we do not have high beam lights in every room in our home, the polish looked rather dull and lackluster. Out in the sin though and these babies shine and sparkle better than Edward in Twilight.

Overall:

I like this color. I would have liked if the sparkling effect was good in poor lighting areas though. Seeing that I am not outside too often during the day, I am a little disappointed. Any silver metallic nail polish could have delivered the same results. Seeing that this color sells for just shy of $8.00, for me, it is just not worth that much.

Review of L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray

Recently I touched up my hair color with L'Oreal Excellence Cream dye, and instead of just coming packaged as the dye usually does, it included a small trial size aluminum spray can of L'Oreal Elnett Sating Hairspray. Since I have been wearing my hair curly over the past few weeks I was excited to give this new hairspray a try.
Prior to this free sample I had been using Salon Grafix with excellent results.

L'Oreal in general has never disappointed me, so I figured this hairspray would work marvelously.

The Scent:

L'Oreal Elnett smells delicious, it has a Jovan Musk like tint to it, with a very girly and powdery finish that I loved. A large normal sized can of this hairspray however is a little pricey, reaching in at $16.00 price levels, which is a bit absurd for hairspray.

I knew I would not buy this hairspray regularly, but if I liked how it held my curls I would buy it here and there when on sale. I use hairspray daily, so having to spend that much money regularly would be killer on a budget.

Hold:
The hairspray goes on lightly leaving a touch of the gorgeous scent behind, as far as holding in my curls, I am sure you are wondering how Elnett held up.
Well rest assured, if you plan on splurging on Elnett, it will be money well spent. The hairspray held my curls in place all day long, without leaving my hair flaky, stiff or dry. Basically you get a strong, strong hold, without sacrificing the softness of your hair.

Last:
Strong hold from Elnett will last all day long.

Overall:
L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray is a winner in my opinion. What L'Oreal has bottled up is the most excellent hairspray you could find, however the price... L'Oreal could work on that. It has always been my belief that the more affordable a product is, the more sales it will bring in.

Review of Chanel Pink Lame Iridescent Eyeshadow

I love free things, and whenever my uncle comes out from the city he usually brings me bags and bags of unused freebie makeup products. Most of them are high end, so high end I wouldn't dare think of actually purchasing them, however whenever I get a high end product my first thought it awesome. My second thought is, I cannot wait to use this so I can let others know about it.

That product today happened to be Chanel Pink Lame Iridescent Eyeshadow.

Chanel Pink Lame Iridescent Eyeshadow comes in a standard Chanel compact. It's black, squared in shape, and has the official Chanel logo etched on it in white. Whenever he gives me Chanel products I never know what to expect inside, it's like the little black box, and whenever I open one I'm usually greeted with a neat surprise, or something icky I wouldn't even bother to use.

When I popped the top off of Chanel Pink Lame Iridescent Eyeshadow though I was pretty excited when I saw this weave of beautiful colors inside of it. It was unlike any other eyeshadow palette I have ever seen. When I say it was weaved, I meant it. There are beautiful hues of rose, gold, pink, and silver shimmered colors all blended in to create this odd basket like weave inside of the compact. It was so pretty that I actually felt bad about having to use it, I knew it would ruin the lovely art work that the eyeshadow was formed into.

Being a regular user of Pigment Powders though, I did not think I'd like this one too much. I don't care how expensive your eyeshadow is, nothing quite takes the cake like Pearl EX does.

Seeing that Chanel Pink Lame Iridescent Eyeshadow was free, and looked to be beautiful, there was no way I was not going to try it.

I used my regular eyeshadow brush, and applied the shadow to my eyelids. The colors really blend together beautifully, creating a lovely pink color, with hues of gold and silver that can be seen in different lighting. While you look at yourself head on in a mirror, you will gaze upon the lovely pink color, however if you tilt a little it to the right, the golden shimmer shines and illuminates the eyelid.

All in all, it's really gorgeous. It goes on like silk, and is very light in wear.

I loved the color, but I wondered if the eyeshadow would crease, or fade away with time. Pearl EX powders do not fade, and they only cost me $20 for a batch of 12.

Chanel Pink Lame Iridescent Eyeshadow comes to around $50.00 or more, and if it could not last long, there was no way I'd be recommending it.

However, Chanel Pink Lame Iridescent Eyeshadow did last long, and I did not experience any creasing whatsoever.

The main problem I have with this eyeshadow though is its price. Really ladies, you are paying for a name brand, because in my experience, Pearl EX works just as well, and you would get the exact same results if you were to mix silver, pink, and golden pigments together. They also last just as long, and cost way less.

If you are after being recognized for your Chanel compact, then go ahead and splurge, but if you would like the exact same results, while saving a heap of money, skip this and go with Pearl EX.
With the ridiculously high priced aside though, this eyeshadow is lovely. It lasts, does not crease, and allows you to easily create a very beautiful finish to your eyelids.
