I have had a spider vein on my back calf since I was about 12 years old.
The vein though began as a single small dot. I thought it was cool at
the time. It looked like a tattoo. It didn't bother me, so I never
bothered with it.
However as time went on, and I grew older the small green dot began to
stretch out, and years later it branched out. It was official, the back
of my leg had a small disease. Spider vein! Ahhh!
I didn't think there were available solutions other than surgery, and
surgery was out of the question. I could live with the odd spider vein!
When I came across Vita-K Solution For Spider Veins, I figured I would
give it a try because there was no way in hell I was going under the
knife...or laser...or however the hell they remove green veins this day
and age.
Packaging:
Vita-K Solution For Spider Veins came in a green and white cardboard
box, with a photo of a woman's perfect pair of legs on the cover. (I
want to kick her).
Why I wanted it:
Like any beauty product available today I bought it because it
promised me exactly what I wanted. It promised me that after just a few
weeks my spider vein would be dramatically help fade away the vein.
Hmm... oh boy gee! Sounds damn good! Not only did it fade away spider
veins, but it would also somehow patch up stretch marks and other skin
flaws/discolorations/imperfection.
Price:
I picked this up about a year ago for $14.99 in a local CVS. However I have seen it go for as low as $8.99 on sale.
Where:
CVS, Walmart, Kmart, Target, Eckerd.
My Use:
The spider vein:
As directed by the actual box, I massaged the thick white lotion onto
my spider vein. The lotion itself feels thick and heavy, and takes quite
some time to dry. It smells medicated, whether or not thats a good or
bad thing. It is a light smell, so it's not awful.
I repeated the process 2 to 3 times a day. After awhile I grew antsy
because I was seeing no results. Even after nearly a month of using it,
the vein looked the same as it always had. There was no fading! I
continued using it for a few weeks after that, and still nothing.
The stretch mark:
Seeing how Vita-K Solution For Spider Veins can also be used for
stretch marks, I figured why the hell not? I have a gnarly looking one
that runs up my hip. I rubbed the lotion in on this bad boy hoping for
something...anything. This scar is so bad it looks like I was in a knife
fight. I applied the lotion everyday after putting it on the spider
vein.
Over time the lotion actually did begin to fade the stretch mark out, but not a huge difference.
After I stopped applying the lotion, the stretch mark from hell was in
full bloom in all its glory. I guess Vita-K Solution For Spider Veins
is a temporary solution. Although it did somewhat fade it's ugly
appearance it was nothing drastic, not long lasting.
Overall:
It was a giant waste of time. There is no miracle lotion (at least
none I know of) that will get rid of spider veins. I should have known
the box sounded too good to be true.
Recommendation:
Those who don't mind purchasing bottle after bottle to keep a stretch
mark at bay. In order for it to truly fade a stretch mark you have to
apply it almost 3 times a day, every freakin day for the rest of your
life... or until you stop caring about the damn stretch mark (like I
did).
