I am a lipstick junkie, and pinks are usually my go-to choice in color. I
am not a lifelong customer to any one brand, I go for any brand and
every brand, as long as that brand is capable of creating a bold pink
that pops.
I admit to being a repeat purchaser of CoverGirl's new line of
lipstick, but the unfortunate part about CoverGirl's new line is that
the colors, as pretty as they are, do not last.
When I came across a new lipstick stand at my local super center, I
went over to it to see what assortments of pinks they had available. To
my surprise this new line was by Maybelline. A line of cosmetics I have
not dabbled in since my teen years.
What I did not like initially was that the lipsticks all come in the
same plastic tube, with a red transparent colored cap, so it is easy to
accidentally buy the wrong color if you are after a repeat purchase. I
accidentally purchased Fuchsia Flash instead of Pink Pop when I went in
looking for a re-stock of Pink Pop.
I will review Fuchsia Flash at a later date.
My first purchase in the line of colors was Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids Lipcolor, in Pink Pop.
What caused me to quickly toss this one into my shopping cart was of
course the color. I ran the in store tester across my hand to see what
the color would truly deliver, and I was pleasantly surprised at how
bright, vivid and beautiful this pink was. Maybelline truly got the name
right, Pink Pop, and that was exactly what it did!
Pink Pop was literally the holy grail in pink color!
On Lips:
The bold beauty that Pink Pop delivers is as equally as pretty on lips
as it was swiped in my hand. The lipstick feels natural, glides on
smoothly and leaves your lips feeling slightly moisturized yet without
that sticky oily feeling other lipsticks leave behind.
The Last:
This is where Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids Lipcolor, Pink Pop
and I had some issues. While Pink Pop is one of the most vivid and bold
beautiful pinks I have ever used, the last is far from impressive.
I got about an hour of last till the shine and overall boldness of color faded away into more matte pink color.
With Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids Lipcolor, Pink Pop, you have
to re-apply and very frequently in order to maintain your bright bold
lips. I do not mind re-applying, but you do not get a whole lot of
lipstick in the tube, and with daily use, and hour by hour reapplication
this tube runs out in less than a month.
Would I still buy it though, even with that major downfall? Heck yes!
The vivid color delivered is like no other, and therefore I am willing
to sacrifice having to re-apply, than not having it at all.
