Throughout the years I have tried many sunless tanning products. In the
winter months especially. If I don't have some color to my skin, I look
sick!
Instead of hurrying on over to the tanning salon every other day I use
alternative products...you know the ones that keep my wrinkles at bay.
Sunless tanners.
Last night while cleaning out my closet I came across a slew of old
sunless tanning products, so I figured I would come here and share my
experiences with each and every one of them.
Suspect:
Neutrogena Sunless Tanning Spray Micro Mist Medium
Why I wanted to catch her:
I purchased it when it first hit the market, because the whole concept
seemed so deliciously neat, easy and would spare me a lot of time. The
bottle also promised me fine and even coverage. It supposedly goes on
fast, and allows you to spray it on hard to reach areas such as your
back.
Appearance:
Neutrogena Sunless Tanning Spray Micro Mist Medium comes in a stand up
aerosol can. The can itself it a golden orange color. You can purchase
Neutrogena Sunless Tanning Spray Micro Mist Medium it in light and
darker shades as well. Seeing how I have light skin, and wanted medium
skin I bought the medium. Tee-hee!I think I should of bought the one
designed for lighter skin though.
Relationship:
I used to spray mist just the way the bottle said to. First I
exfoliated my face, and then I closed my eyes; held the can about 10-12
inches away from my face and sprayed some on. It covered my face with a
light mist. The bottle claimed that rubbing it in was unnecessary, but
the mist was so drippy that I knew if I didn't rub it in, I would end up
with some nasty looking streaks.
The scent of Neutrogena Sunless Tanning Spray Micro Mist Medium is
that same nasty sunless tanning scent that we all hate. It's chemically,
chlorine water like. It's not likable, it's...it's...it's just nasty.
Next I applied a light mist to my legs. What I didn't like about the
whole concept was how I could not see where I was getting coverage most
and where I was not. This product would have been a hell of a lot easier
if they added some sort of color, just so I could see where it was
going.
Crime:
Neutrogena Sunless Tanning Spray Micro Mist Medium didn't work any
wonders instantly. I went to bed though and woke up to legs and a face
that looked like I had rolled around in an Oompa Loompa's diarrhea. I
had streaks here, streaks there... streaks everywhere...'I don't like the looks of that! Oompa doompa doopa dee dee!'
I turned to my exfoliation wand to try and remove the dark lines that
were left behind. Luckily the exfoliation took care of most of it...let
me tell you it hurt like hell exfoliating a freshly exfoliated face! Not
fun man!
Recommendation:
Armed and dangerous, avoid if you come in contact with this criminal.
