Bath and Body Works, Temptations Perfect Peach 3 in 1

Maybe it’s the alluring scent the Bath and Body works gives off as I pass their store, or maybe it’s just fact that I got a $100 gift card to the store this past holiday. But whatever it is, I keep going back, even though the gift card is already tapped out.

My recent addiction is the 3 in 1 temptations. My first love was Iced Tea Twist, and since then, it’s been a pure obsession, with adding every different scent available, my bathroom now looks like it has exploded.

Perfect Peach was a necessity, even though I’ve never been overly fond of peaches. I took a sniff of it in the store, and it was pretty close to the smell of an actual peach. I decided to add it to my already overfilled shopping basket (just because I could). Basically I’m saying this purchase was a whim.

It comes in a 16 oz bottle for $12 or a 4oz bottle for $5. I myself went with the 4oz bottle only because I wasn’t head over heels ‘in love’ with the scent. For me, it was just OK.

I had to put it to the test in the same manner I had all of my temptation 3 in 1 products. The bubble bath test, the shampoo test, and my favorite the body wash test.

BUBBLE BATH-

THE GOOD-

Perfect Peach passed ‘perfectly’ like I had expected it would. I put in a small amount, even though the bottle recommends 2 to 3 capfuls. I always use less seeing how these scents are all ‘limited editions’ and eventually won’t be carried in the store or the online store once the season passes.
I got a decent amount of bubbles, and they lasted for a good 15 to 20 minutes. Not only that but my whole bath time smelt like a peach fruit cocktail- (with a twist).

THE BAD-

The product no longer smelt the same as it did in the bottle. It now smelt generic, and a bit like toxic peaches. Chemically. I don’t know if it is my water or what, but the scent wasn’t very pleasant. It however also wasn’t disgusting, but it definitely was not the same scent in the bottle.

I’d rate the bubble bath usage a 4. Based on a 1-10 rating, 10 being the highest, and 1 being the worst.

SHAMPOO TIME-

I was able to get a nice lather going with only a small quarter sized amount. It smelled really good. However that chemical stink was present again like it was in the bubble bath.
I was also very hesitant on using this as a shampoo seeing how none of the 3 in 1 temptation products in the past ever worked out well.

Sure enough, it was awful. No big surprise there. I should have learned my lesson by now; perfect peach turned my hair into a big knotty out of control dried out mess.
If you’re going to use ANY of the temptations as a shampoo, make sure you have an excellent moisturizing conditioner to use afterwards.

BODY WASH-

This is the main reason for my 3 in 1 temptation purchases. I love the way it stinks up my bathroom, and gives me an intoxicating aromatherapy session. Perfect peach did just that. I liked it; it left no residue behind on my skin, and I felt clean.
However (there is always a ‘however’) it smelled like a chemical peach. The realistic smell of this product is only in the bottle. Once it hits water, it fades into something else. Like I said though, its not a horrible smell, its not a great one though either.

Not only that, but this scent only lasts in the shower. I didn’t mind that with my other Temptation purchases because of the wonderful smell they let off during my bath. But this one didn’t give me that wonderful scent I was expecting.


So basically if you like the smell of peaches, and don’t mind that fake chemically smell, then I guess it’s a good buy for only $5. But if you’re after that intoxicating aromatherapy, heavenly like bath, this will sadly disappoint.

Bath and Body Works Tempations Frosting Forever 3 In 1 Body Wash, Bubble Bath and Shampoo

Of course I had to comment on Bath & Body Works Temptations Frosting Forever 3-In-1 Body Wash, Bubble Bath and Shampoo. It is the latest addition to my Temptations obsession.
I have been in heaven with Iced Tea Twist, and not so ‘in heaven’ with Unperfected Peach. Even with the ups and downs, I have a mission; that mission basically means to own them all.

Frosting, vanilla in particular, is one of my favorite scents, and not to mention treats. I barely even had to do a sniff test in the store to know if I wanted it or not. When I did do a fast sniff n’ whiff I smelt the glorious scent of vanilla frosting. Mmm, Mommy like! It reminded me of (obviously) vanilla frosting. It was almost as if vanilla frosting had been melted down and sold to me as soap. Yummy, good enough to eat!

Frosting Forever comes in a 16oz clear plastic bottle with an easy click cap. It runs for exactly $12. You can however purchase this is a 4oz trial sized bottle for $5 or less depending on store sales.

It is a shampoo, a bubble bath, and a body wash all in one. And with all 3 in 1 bath products each of the 3 uses were put to the test.

THE SHAMPOO-

With all of Temptations 3 in 1 bath products, I am usually disappointed after using it as a shampoo.

All of the Temptations used as shampoo usually leave my hair dry, knotty, and unmanageable. Most of the time I have to do a follow up with a deep conditioner just to get my hair feeling moist and alive again.

Frosting Forever did the same thing. Poppie! Not only that but the smell I had recalled in the store had completely changed into something entirely different. The product no longer smelled heavenly, nor was it intoxicating like it had been in the store. It smelt as if it had faded down, and turned into a plastic like vanilla sugar cookie. It sort of reminded me of a fresh opened cabbage path doll. The smell was not horrible, but it definitely was not the smell of frosting. It was however easy to get a nice thick lather going on for my dome piece.

After drying off though, you will not smell any traces of this within your hair. (For me, that was a good thing)

THE BODY WASH-

This is always my main use for 3 in 1 products. I like using them as a body wash and enjoy the aroma that it fills my bathroom with, even if the smell does not linger on my body. It’s a shower experience, not an after body aroma experience. As with all Temptation products, the smell did not remain on my skin after drying off.

I have never had any issues with getting a good lather out of Temptation products, and sure enough I did not have any issues with getting a good bubbly lather from Frosting Forever.

I would say I enjoyed using this because it did make me feel clean after using it, and it did not leave any greasy film or residue behind on my skin, but the fact is, the faint smell of plastic sugar cookies remained.

THE BUBBLE BATH-

I have never had a temptations product ‘not’ produce a nice amount of bubbles. I sort of already knew that Frosting Forever would produce the same amount as my last tests with Temptation products.

Sure enough Frosting Forever produced a nice amount of bubbles, and they lingered for a good 15 to 20 minutes afterwards.

If you have hard water though your bubbles may be less, way less.

The bottle recommends using 2 to 3 capfuls for the bubble bath. I tend to not go by rules on bottles though, and I pour in as little or as much as my heart and nostrils desire.
In this case however, I used just about what was recommended. Like I said, it produced a nice amount of bubbles.

There it was again though, that faded plastic sugary smell.

*I didn’t do the ‘taste test’ like I sometimes do with my bath products that smell too real to be a soap.

OVERALL-

This would have been an okay product, to use as a body wash and for a bubble bath, (skip shampooing with this gunk) however the smell is just not as pleasant as one would expect and want.

Shower time for me is sacred time. It is my 30 minutes of pure bliss, and in order to have the best experience in the shower I have to have a nice scent surrounding me. Not a smell of fake plastic baby dolls coated with mass amounts of sugar!

RECOMMENDATION-

If you like the smell of fake baby dolls mixed with mounds of sugar you may actually enjoy this one. However it’s just not for me.

Bodycology Foaming Bath and Shower Gel

Why I bought Bodycology Foaming Bath & Shower Gel is beyond me. It was one of those crazy shopping whims I seem to have when I can’t balance my needs from my wants. Especially when it comes to bath products.

I really didn’t need it, but because I was about to purchase the coconut lime Body Bar I felt I HAD to have the shower gel as well. I know, it’s a sick habit. I’m ashamed of myself. I have no self-control!

However for only about $4 I felt this purchase was a win, not only that the bottle came with a reasonable 17.2oz of product. You can’t beat that, especially when the scent happens to be coconut lime.

The lime in da coke you nut, song danced in my head and I happily went marching to the counter. Score! Mine!

IN THE STORE SCENT:

In the store it smelled delish! Coconut with a subtle hint of lime, it reminded me of the lime coconut products I have purchased at Bath & Body Works in the past, only Bodycology’s coconut lime was for a fraction of the cost.

HOW WELL DOES IT WORK?

Well, I used about a quarter sized amount on my shower puff, the product itself comes out of a push up cap, and is a pearly lime green in color. (It didn’t stain my puff though, and the color went to white once I got a lather going.)

I began the procedure of rubbing the puff around my body, and wow, wow, wow, this was a lather like no other, it was thick like foam (thus the name ‘foaming’ bath and shower gel) and it felt extremely moisturizing.

Just as I began to allow myself to enjoy the lather I realized something, it felt just like I was rubbing shaving cream all over my body.
Now because of this thought in my head (of rubbing shaving cream everywhere) I was sort of turned off by the whole feeling of it.

Hmm… it doesn’t smell like shaving cream though…sniff…sniff… wait…

‘Where is the smell’?

IN THE SHOWER SCENT…

That’s right, I could barely detect that I was using a coconut lime scented wash. The smell was barely detectable, I had to bring the puff to my face to get a slight whiff of the scent.
It was a faded, very, very faded lime scent. It sort of reminded me of extremely watered down suntan lotion. Bleh!

I rinsed off, and my skin felt like it still had the product stuck to it, almost like it had created a gelatinous layer of skin.
I felt disgusting, I had to reach for one of my Bath & Body Work 3 in 1’s to rid myself of this eel like layer that Bodycology’s foaming bath and shower gel caused.

Never again will I give in to a cheap whim like this. I will stick to my more expensive brands, even if it means taking a big dip into the wallet every now and then. This is nothing more than a knock off of Bath & Body Works lime and coconut scented products.

OVERALL: The scent is almost non-existent; it covers your entire body in what feels like a layer of eel skin, or a layer of slime after you wash it off.

It’s a mess just like the body bar. Avoid it, save your $4 for something better.
