John Frieda Sheer Blonde Glistening Perfection Conditioner for Platinum To Champagne Blondes

I’ve been burned before on John Frieda’s products before.

However like any name brand company, there are plenty of products you love from them, and plenty that you hate.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Glistening Perfection Conditioner for Platinum to Champagne Blondes is one of them products that I’m in love with.

I have thick unruly wavy hair. I’m not talking your average thick hair either; I’m talking woolly bully. I actually had a stylist tell me my hair was the thickest she had ever worked on. That wasn’t a good thing either. There is a thin line between good thick hair, and crazy thick hair.

IF MY HAIR COULD TALK
-Before-

“Hello. I’m crazy thick. Shampoos and conditioners don’t stand a chance up against me. I’m out of control, I’m puffy, and when I walk through the door, you don’t forget me. I’m like a jungle with vines tangled all over the place. I’m so messy. Hahahaah!”

What my hair says after applying John Frieda’s conditioner:

“Today that girl put something on me, it was gooey and cold, and it smelt kind of nice! I’m so mad at her now; I’m not knotting up when she’s active, my vines have come down! What has she done to me, she’s killing me, oh what a cruel world!”

That’s pretty much what John Frieda’s glistening perfection conditioner does. You feel the difference the moment you apply it. You don’t have to wait for your hair to dry and style it to know if you’ve got a good conditioner or not. I was able to tell the moment I started to rub it in my scalp that this stuff was about to perform some sort of a small miracle for my head.

You are supposed to shampoo first, the bottle recommends you use its sister shampoo John Frieda’s glistening perfection shampoo; however any shampoo from any brand will do the job just fine. After shampooing you then apply an amount that is necessary for your hair length and thickness. I myself squeeze out about half a handful of the conditioner, run it through my hair, and wait three or four minutes.

As I began to wash the conditioner out, I could immediately tell that this magic yellow goop had done something magical, my hypothesis was right. My hair had never felt so silky and soft while washing any products out of it. And what’s this? No knots during the process!

I was able to brush my hair and style it afterwards without any knots and tangles, or the feeling of any residue left behind. It left my hair soft and shiny, and not to mention manageable. There was no greasy feeling to my hair at all after using this product, like so many other conditioners tend to do to my thick hair. I was amazed. (I still had to use a straight iron though afterwards) It doesn’t really do much for the “puff”, it just makes it tangle free, so it is much easier to style.

Now the conditioner worked like a charm, however there was no difference in my hair getting any lighter, or it improving the blonde color my hair already was, even after using this product for over a 2-month period.

I purchased mine at target. You can also find it in almost every shopping center, and drug stores ranging from $5 to $7.

PASS IT ON

I’d say yep, go out and buy it, it works wonderfully in combating knotty thick hair; however it won’t help much in the ‘poof’ department. You’re on your own with that issue, if you happen to find a magic puff-reducing product for girls with thick unruly hair, feel free to leave me a comment.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Healthy Attitude Leave In Nourishing Spray

You win some, and you lose some.

I purchased John Frieda’s sheer blonde healthy attitude leave in nourishing spray only because the conditioner I had purchased had worked so well.

ABOUT MY OUT OF CON-’TROLL’ (STRAW) HAIR:

My hair is thick and unruly, and after major self-dye (destroying) jobs it was in dire need of some nourishment. My hair was equivalent to scarecrows hay body stuffing at the ends. Dry, gasping for moisture, fried, frizzled, split; you name it, my hair suffered from it.
Oh and did I mention I’m a self-made blond? Yeah I’m a fake and proud of it; fake hair color, fake nails, fake eye color sometimes as well. I love the self-body artwork I created.
But all you natural blonde's (hmph) can also use this product. It was probably meant for you anyways.

THAT GUY IS SO PUSHY!

I stood there staring down the $8 bottle, wondering if I should just return it to its counter space and quickly walk away and move on to my bed head friend, before I threw down close to 10 bucks on this stuff.
But then John Frieda started urging me to buy it as I began to walk away from the shelf, he promised to strengthen my hair, and repair its damage. John Frieda also told me that if I bought his product for $8 that it would brighten my dull blonde hair, he said that it would infuse my dry hair with essential vitamins and protein. Best yet it would prevent frizzled fried hair. How could you lose?

God he is so good with tricking gullible gals like me with his promises of Goldilocks like hair. I was sold! I took the bottle home and put it to the test.

I read the bottle before I took his advice completely, Super concentrated leave-in formula conditions hair with pro-Vitamin B5. (Oh that sounds nice), nourishing honey (Oh I like the smell and taste of honey) and wheat germ extracts (that sounds yucky, I don’t know what that is). Instantly replenishes lost moisture (Oh yeah!) and penetrates areas prone to splitting from heat styling and over processing (Ohhh Yeeeaaa). Won't dull, darken or weigh down blond color, hair will look light and bright. (Sweet! It’s just what I’ve always wanted)

HOW DO YOU USE THIS STUFF?

I took my normal shower, and I can brag that yes, I took a shower using his products, because John Frieda recommends you use all of his products for best results. I find this to be untrue; but anyways I’m a sucker like that.

I towel dried my hair, I shook the bottle well, like it said to, sprayed it in my hair generously, and I rubbed it throughout my hair. I also sprayed a little extra on my dead ends, those were the little buggers I wanted to get rid of most, and so I sprayed the heck out of them.
I noticed the stinky smell immediately. Its sort of the same chemical smells all of John Frieda’s products smell like. It’s not pleasant, and sort of gives off a hairspray type aroma. It’s a mild smell, but it still stinks and you end up gagging if you happen to be spraying this on yourself when you enclosed in a small bathroom.

(The bottle also cautions you to not spray it in your eyes! Gee! Really? Gosh!
Also you may want to keep this stuff out of reach of children. They might drink it or do something crazy with it that kids do these days.)

WAS YOUR HAIR PRETTY?

I was disappointed when my hair dried to see that my head was sort of stiff, and my ends were all stuck together hard as rock. I didn’t see any new glisten or shine to my hair or brightness to my hair like John Frieda said I would. Liar! Of course my hair is now protected, its covered in a stiff silicone seal, water couldn’t even get in!

I gave the product the benefit of the doubt; I figured it wouldn’t show a difference in only one use, so I really put this bad boy to the test. I used it for about a month, and used less on my ends. It didn’t do anything if you used less. I figured after long-term use, perhaps then I would see a change in the color, Shine, and overall health of my hair.

THEN WHAT HAPPENED?

After about a month of regular use, and not seeing a difference at all, and living with stiff hair for quite some time, I filled the half empty bottle with water and returned it. Is that bad? Haha.

OH DEAR JOHNNY

I felt ripped off, and cheated, and lied to, and I think we’re going to have to stop seeing each other. I wrote John a letter somewhat like that. He said he’d give me some free samples, and some coupons and that he was sorry. Hmph!

John Frieda Beach Blonde Smooth Seas Detangling Conditioner

John, I’m sorry about our past
issues I wanted to apologize, and let you know how much I adore all of your
hair conditioners. They have always done exactly as you promised. This is why I added the Beach Blonde Smooth Seas Detangling Conditioner to my already over sized line of your products.

You wrote on this bottle of 10oz worth of conditioner that this minty cool detangler would unsnarl surf side snags for smooth, and easy combing. Moisture-rich seaweed extracts and sunflower oil would quench sun-dried hair and that soothing aloe calms and conditions.

Sounded pretty neat, so John, I tried it. I assumed the seaweed extracts was why you labeled it with such a unique name. I was ready to put another one of your products to the test.

You tell me that it’s applied just like any ordinary conditioner, (use more or less depending on the length an thickness of your hair.) You first wash your hair with shampoo. –And you recommended washing my hair with your beach blonde smooth seas shampoo; however I find this to be unnecessary John, and also expensive, seeing how the conditioner alone cost about $7.50. Any shampoo will do fine, so really you can stop telling people that. Okay?!

You then tell me to let the conditioner set in my hair for 3 to 4 minutes, and rinse out, easy enough, same as every conditioner really. Do you really have to add that to the bottle? Just kidding!

So I squeezed some out and rubbed it into my hair evenly. The conditioner itself is not green like the bottle; it’s actually white, and very rich and creamy.
I was amazed at how it tingled my scalp the moment I began to rub it throughout my hair. It is sort of similar to brushing your teeth, that minty cool refreshing feeling, only for your head. It was definitely an experience my scalp had never gone through before.
The conditioner also has a nice pleasant mild scent. Sort of like a sea breeze scent mixed with some mint. I could see someone either loving or hating the scent. However you will smell no traces of it after your hair is dried so it’s really not that big of a deal. I like this John, because a lot of your products have this nasty chemically smell. You may want to work on that.

However John, the smooth seas conditioner is really great at cooling you off on a hot summer day, so I will forgive you for your other stinky products. I wish everyone would give your Beach Blond Smooth Seas Detangling Conditioner a try. They really won’t be disappointed.

This is also a great conditioner to use after you’ve been swimming all day at the ocean. Its sort of what it was designed for right John?

I’m going to now move on and tell you how it worked for me.
I was promised snag free hair, and I got just that, after my shower I was able to run a comb through my hair without any problems at all. Thank you!
I was also promised that if I used this, my hair would have less frizz. I was not lied to. I did have fewer frizzes, and not only that but my hair was also extremely smoother. Thank you twice!

I am very happy with my purchase John. With about a month of daily use I was able to see a difference in my hair. The ends weren’t as dry and brittle as they once were. Thank you three times!

However John now that I have finished thanking you, I figured I might as well vent to you a little bit about the prices of your products. I mean they range from $7 plus. They’re a little expensive. So if you want people to buy both the shampoo and conditioner, you may want to consider lowering the prices, or heck, maybe throw in a few coupons into the Sunday newspaper every now and then. I mean really!

Not only that John but also this product only seems to be available at higher end stores. You may want to branch out a little bit and stock Wal-Mart up with these babies more often!

Also John you write on the bottle that it is for blonde's, I have to disagree. My mother who is a brunette also uses this and she loves it as well. You may want to let people know that it doesn’t matter what color hair they have, they too can use this particular conditioner. You may as well just delete the blond out of the name, and call it John Frieda’s Beach Smooth Seas Detangling Conditioner. What do you think?

I guess that seems to be the only issues I have with this product in particular. Other than that it’s excellent, I know I have already said this, but thanks for making such a great product. Just so you know, I’m also going to let all of my friends and family know how great this conditioner is.

I am also going to recommend your high beam glosser to everyone as well.
