Review: Soap & Glory Mist You Madly

If you took the time to read through my blog, you probably already know that I'm a huge fan of Soap & Glory. They make some of the most delicious body products I have ever come across, with scents that are simply addicting, and unique.

When I came across Mist You Madly, I was going to skip on it, because the asking price was nearly $15.00.

Once I sprayed a sample of it in the store though, I knew there was no way I was leaving the store without it.

The scent does not have that original scent that most Soap & Glory products have. Instead it features a much sweeter note of flowers, and candy, and the scent is delicious. It does have a very subtle tint of the original musty amber Soap & Glory scent, but it's very subtle, and unless you are a fan of the original you won't notice it.

The mist comes in a cute package, with that retro black and white look that all of their products come in. Inside the packages is a nice tall pearl pink stand up spray bottle.

The scent lasts, but it does not last all too long. Spraying it on my clothes allows the girly scent to stick around for longer periods of time, but all in all about an hour is what to expect as far as last.

I really like Mist You Madly, but would have preferred to see it sold in smaller purse size bottles in order to easily tote it along with me for daily touch ups.

All in all though, Mist You Madly is a decent buy, and I would buy it again.

Review: Calvin Klein Escape, Perfume For Women

I have never been too fond of Calvin Klein fragrances. My turn off occurred back in the early 90's when nearly every Tom, Dick, Harry, Holly and Tina would walk around the school stinking up the hallways with their CK1 perfume. By the time I was scheduled to go home from school, I had what I like calling a CK headache.

It got so bad that the scent was everywhere. In hallways, classrooms, bathrooms. There was no escaping it, like a frigging plague; this scent took over the school.

I still too this day feel nauseous when I get a whiff of this scent, or an impostor scent that is similar to it. Even thinking about this perfume, I can seriously smell it, that's how much it has impacted me- In a negative way of course.

Anyhow, when I saw Calvin Klein Escape sitting on my moms dresser, I admit I wanted to try it, but at the same time wondered if it'd smell like that holy hell perfume from the past.

The Bottle:

Calvin Klein Escape comes in a bland cylinder shaped bottle, with a bland shiny silver mirror like metal lid on top. None of CK's perfume bottles have ever been attractive in my opinion. They've always been relatively blah, and most of them remind me of roll on deodorant sticks.

The perfumes color is a light burnt yellow/orange color... which immediately told me that this stuff would be strong. Most yellow/orange tinted perfumes have a very strong overbearing scent. Most...not all.

The Scent:

Calvin Klein Escape actually impressed me. It had a gorgeous honey mixed with cherry scent that was very powerful, but at the same time extremely likable. It also has a thick dewy scent that can be compared to a warm vanilla musk. Combined you get a really sultry heavy musk that smells like no other. Mommy like!

Last:

Before reviewing perfume, I always give each one a one day test. I do this by spraying some on my shirt, and some onto my skin. This way I can mention how long the scent lasts on each.

On my skin CK Escape impressed me with a long last. I was able to smell the perfume on me for the entire day, which is really good, because usually when I spray perfume directly on my skin the scent does not last very long...if at all.

It should be pretty obvious that Calvin Klein Escape lasted on my shirt for the entire day, and was still detectable the next morning. Spraying Escape on your coat will ensure 2 days of the scent. Not bad!

Overall Calvin Klein Escape gets two thumbs up in the 'long lasting scent department'.

Recommended Wear:

For me Calvin Klein Escape is a nice scent to wear at night. I find it's thick musky aroma would be suitable for dinner parties, nights out on the town, and so on. I also think it'd be a good scent for a nice seductive romantic night with your significant other.

It just has that warm seductive scent that puts you in a sexy time mood. Hehe!

Pricing and Availability:

You can find Calvin Klein Escape at perfume stores, and online for around $50.00 for the largest 3.4 ounce bottle. Prices are lower for smaller bottles. For more bang for your buck, you can purchase the gift set which includes the lotion and perfume.

Perfume Review: Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue

Oh glorious glorious bottle of perfume, how you've touched my soul, my senses, my life.

Okay maybe I'm over doing it, but seriously by far Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, has been my all time favorite scent since I first discovered it. Period.

My sister was the one who first introduced me to the scent. She said that it smelled like hamster chips, and handed her bottle off to me. I fell in love. How could she not like this stuff? Granted it smells a wee bit like hamster tank....it also has fragrances that no other perfume has ever captured.

Cedar-wood with a refreshing and uplifting hint of citrus. Combined creating the most wonderful scent my nose hairs have ever risen to.

Besides all that yummy nose tickling goodness, Dolce & Gabbana Light Bluelasts, and lasts. A small spritz to your jacket, and the scent will stay all day long, and will even be recognizable into the next.

Overall:

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is a wonderful outdoorsy fragrance. While it is rugged, it is at the same time, also very, very feminine. A truly uplifting scent. I recommend it for everyday wear.

Will not disappoint.

Review: Tatiana by Diane Von Furstenberg

I'm a perfume junkie, and whenever someone is about to pass off free perfume to me, I'll take it (even if it smells pretty rancid). You see I like collecting bottles, mini bottles, or larger decorative perfume bottles.

When someone passed off Tatiana by Diane Von Furstenberg, you better believe I took it.

When I first got hold of Tatiana, I figured it would have a classical old smell to it due to it's dark burnt orange color. Most burnt orange colors look antique, and smell antique. I sort of painted that impression on Tatiana the moment I got a glimpse of it, and my first impression of the perfume was correct.

Scent:

I sprayed a small amount of the perfume onto my wrist to give it a sniff test. The smell is a bit overwhelming at first with a very old fashioned smell of dried out flowers, and rust. The combination was pretty gross, but not in a way that would make you gag.

I personally wouldn't wear it out regularly as it is strong, it lingers for quite some time, and it sets off that whole old, old lady vibe.

Tatiana is recommended for romantic wear, but it's powdery rose and rust stench would likely just cause your lover to have a sneeze fest, as it is so spicy it tickles your nose.

After a few hours Tatiana begins to smell more like powder than it does anything else. The powder though is still thick and still has a presence of some type of floral arrangement.

Hmm...maybe the fact that it reminds me of funerals is what makes it so stinky?

Appearance:

Tatiana comes in a very nice shaped bottle, which reminds me of an odd cut gem. The bottle itself is definitely worthy of saving on the shelf, as far as the perfume itself goes though; well that is a different story.

Overall:

It's not one I would ever buy on my own. was glad to be given Tatiana for free solely for the nice gem cut glass bottle. Other than that though, I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone...that is...unless you like smelling like a classical old lady?

For those who dig it, or may dig it, you can purchase it mostly online. I have never ran into this perfume in any perfume stores. Online vendors sell Tatiana for around $19.99 to $24.99.

Bath and Body Works Temptations Cinnamon Bun Heaven 3 In 1 Body Wash, Bubble Bath & Shampoo

I can’t stop, I’m an addict, and I need help. I know, I am aware of it; I’m ashamed (not really).

I don’t want to brag (okay maybe a little) but my bathroom is starting to look like a Bath and Body Works outlet store. It’s getting ridiculous, and members of my family are getting annoyed because there is no room for their (pathetic) shower products. (Oh well, throw them out!) Thinking of using those cheap pathetic products on my skin makes me cringe. I don’t even want them sitting next to my princess’s.

Anyways, I fell in love with Bath & Body Works Temptations back in February, when I first discovered them. I have never loved lotions, but when I first used Cinnamon Bun Heaven Temptations lotion, I knew I had to seek out the 3 in 1 bath product as well.

3 in 1 products are basically a shampoo, a body wash, and a bubble bath all squished together in one bottle.

PACKAGING:

The 16oz bottle cost me $12. I don’t know if they are selling them in the 4oz trial sizes anymore. I have yet to come across one, but they do retail for $5. And they do go on sale sometimes though; 4 for $10. I doubt you will come across this one though.
It comes in a clear see thru plastic bottle with a click cap. The product itself is a pearl like light beige.

FINDERS FEE:

Now usually I charge people a finder’s fee when I let them in on my bath secrets.
I want to be the only beautiful smelling one! So consider yourselves lucky I am sharing. (Tee-hee) You can find this product (obviously) at any local Bath & Body Works store. Or for those unfortunate ones who don’t have one nearby, you can always order it online at www.Bathandbodyworks.com

STINK-O-METER

Cinnamon Bun Heaven smells DELISH! I mean mouth wateringly delish! I have never smelled a shower product so true to its name. Now don’t get me wrong, all Temptation products stand pretty true to their names given, but none quite take cake like Cinnamon Bun Heaven 3 in 1. It smells just like a cinnamon bun, and I want to eat it.

USED AS A BODY WASH-

Yum, oh yum, drooling delicious cinnamon bun ooey gooey yum. Yeah that’s sort of what it is like.

Cinnamon Bun Heaven when used as a body wash creates a nice lather, and you really don’t need to use more than a quarter sized amount to get a good lather going. The lather itself is nothing special, but I didn’t mind, the smell made up for where the lather lacked.

- However when I dried off, so did Cinnamon Bun Heaven. The scent was no longer present, and it made me sad. But at the same time not too sad. If I smelled this one any longer my stomach would have started to growl.

USED AS A BUBBLE BATH-

I have been fortunate with all Temptations 3 in 1’s used as bubble baths.
I got a decent sized amount from Cinnamon Bun Heaven as well as I did with all of the 3 in 1’s I have tried. The bubbles are nothing to go crazy over, and they definitely are not spilling out of the tub. But for me, they’re all right. The bubbles also smell of the product, so this is a major plus for me. They last for the majority, a good 15 to 20 minutes.

WHEN USED AS SHAMPOO-

All Temptation 3 in 1s when used as shampoo never do a good job. In fact most of them have made my hair feel dry and thirsty for a moisturizer. I usually follow up with a deep conditioner and all is well.

Cinnamon Bun Heaven did the same. It dried out my hair, and made it unmanageable.

However it’s a rare treat when a Temptation scent stays with you, and this is exactly what Cinnamon Bun Heaven did for me. I was able to smell the scent all throughout my hair after drying.
This is the second temptation product where the scent has actually stood with me. So I was excited. Usually after using a 3 in 1 you cannot smell it on you at all. This one was a winner.

WHAT THE SITE SAYS ABOUT CINNAMON BUN HEAVEN:

ALL THE LOVIN', WITHOUT THE OVEN. If there were cinnamon buns within a city block, she could find them. She was mesmerized by the spicy swirls and fell into a sweet, hypnotic dream every time she gazed at them. And if that weren't enough–she couldn't resist the warm, delicious icing. Yes, icing! So much icing, so little time. Perhaps that would be her downfall.
Imported.

SUM IT UP-

Cinnamon Bun Heaven 3 in 1 is an extremely realistic smelling bath product. I’m not even a fan of cinnamon buns and I love this one. I honestly think anyone who gives this one a sniff test will be hooked.

I would say yes, go out and buy this one before it’s gone. Many Bath & Body Works products are discontinued after awhile, so I would advise to get yours now.
