I really liked Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub, and when
the tube ran out, I of course went out for another tube of it. I loved
the mandarin orange scent, I loved how it kept my skin clear and lightly
scented with a nice citrus smell. It wasn't the greatest of products in
the world, but I fell in love mostly with the mandarin orange scent.
When I went looking for the facial scrub though, I instead came across
a new scent. Instead of just having the option of a morning burst of
orange, I now had the option for a morning burst of lime.
Seeing how I could not find the lime scent in a facial scrub I went
for the facial cleanser. It looked nearly the same; only it wasn't a
scrub...it was just soap.
Inside of the pump down bottle though there were tiny bursting beads
in blue and light green. Supposedly these beads would burst when you
rinse, releasing energy and vitamins. The energy though is given off by
the lime scent, the vitamins...um...I guess those are for your face.
I didn't really pay much attention to the bottle in the store. I knew I
liked the Morning Burst line, so I had a feeling I would love the
facial cleanser as well.
At home though (while on the John), I got to reading the back of the
bottle. Basically this lime scented facial cleanser promised to remove
dirt, oil, and impurities, while leaving it shine free all day long.
The promise seemed bold, but I got excellent results with the scrub,
so I surely thought I would get excellent results with Clean & Clear
Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser with Bursting Beads.
That night:
I pressed down on the pump, and the gel came out with ease, sadly
though there were no beads in the first pump; so of course I pumped
again. I got one bead, one solitary blue bead.
I ran a small amount of water in my palms just to work up some sort of
lather...only there was no lather. I rubbed the gel into my face
anyway. The scent was lovely; a mild lime and citrus scent was what I
got out of it. The scent was not harsh or too strong, and I really liked
it. The scent really did give me that POW, BLAM, BOOM wake me up
feeling.
There however was absolutely no lather at all to work with. I rinsed
the gel off, and my face did feel really clean. The lime scent though
disappeared, which was disappointing, because the orange morning burst scrub would leave its scent behind for a few minutes...just enough to wake me up.
I went to bed after using it. The energy burst, was gone.
In the morning:
I used Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser
with Bursting Beads in the morning with the same results. This was when
the facial cleanser was put t the ultimate test though.
I have oily skin by nature, and today was the day where I would find
out if Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser
with Bursting Beads would leave my skin shine free like it had promised.
My day starts at 7:00am. I got to work at 8:45am, my skin was still
feeling fresh, and clean. Best of all though, it was oil free. By noon
my face began to feel a bit icky. Looking into a mirror proved that my
oily skin was trying its hardest to shine through and brighten my day.
By the time 1:00 rolled around my skin looked oily.
There you have it ladies and gents, Clean & Clear Morning Burst
Shine Control Facial Cleanser with Bursting Beads lasts for 6 hours.
That's not too bad for shine free oil control, but it's also not good
either.
When a bottle promises all day shine free skin, I expect to remain shine free till 5 at night.
Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser with Bursting Beads just failed to deliver.
Overall:
Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser with
Bursting Beads is a flop. There are not enough bursting beads inside of
the gel, the scent does not last long enough, the burst of energy
disappears the moment the scent dies down, and the all day shine free
promise is absolutely absurd.
Recommendation:
I'm going to have to say pass.
