Review of Bath and Body Works, Temptation Back to School Gift Set, Apple Fizz

I hate when the Temptations Line of products does this to me! They come out with a product that includes exclusive scents that you cannot get unless you buy their expensive gift sets!
It pissed me off! It's not fair, and I am always a sucker and I buy it before it has a chance to go on sale! This month they released an exclusive Apple Fizz scent, however in order to obtain this scent I was forced to buy the Back To School Gift Set.
The sets are only available at Bath and Body Works, and always include 3 products. This particular set of course included a 6 ounce bottle of 3 in 1, a bottle of body lotion, and a tube of lip gloss. All 3 products were the Apple Fizz scent.
What sucks about my particular Bath and Body Works, is that they do not have the products on display for sample. So basically I bought something I could not sniff test first. But because of my OCD and collecting habits, I had to have it. I could not wait 3 months for it to go on sale, nor could I wait for them to display testers of Apple Fizz.
Packaging:
The packaging on the Temptation gift sets are always eye catching and adorable. The Back To School Gift Set displays a drawing of a mother waving her kids as they take the school bus.
You can lift this cardboard photo up to take a peek inside of the packaging window at the 3 products inside of the box.
All 3 products displayed a drawing of some sort of cocktail with apple wedges on the sides of the glass. I am not a drinker, so I have no clue what the hell type of alcoholic beverage it is.
I imagined though that by the color of the gel inside of the bottles that it was going to smell like green apples.
At home I tore open the cute box and threw it out. The first item I opened was the body lotion. My sniff test indicated that I was correct. Apple Fizz smells like sweet sour green apples. It is a nice scent, and does smell pretty dang realistic to an actual green apple. It is a very playful scent, and could imagine that children would probably enjoy this one a bit more than most adult women.
The 3 in 1 smelled the same; I liked it, but I was not too thrilled with it. It was just an okay scent. Pleasant, but way to strong and sour for my liking.
The Lip Gloss:
I have used Temptation line lip glosses before, and have always loved the flavors. The texture though has always felt a bit too sticky for my likings, and I knew that the Apple Fizz gloss would have that same sticky feeling to it. I was right. The taste though was nice, and it smelled just like the rest of the products in the set.
However it was only 10 minutes later that the taste and scent vanished.
The 3 in 1:
In the shower it worked the same way any Temptation Line 3 in 1 would work. The bubble bath produced little to no bubbles; yet the bath water was left with the sour apple scent, which I actually did enjoy, because the water toned down the scent.
As shampoo Apple Fizz left my hair feeling dry. However the scent was left behind in my hair. The scent though was very similar to White Rains green apple shampoo.
When used as a body wash, Apple Fizz was relatively nice. The strong sour smell was more subtle in the shower, and I enjoyed it. The lather was bubbly, and I felt like it was really cleaning my skin. Like with all 3 in 1 Temptation products, I only needed a small amount to get a decent amount of lather working.
After drying off though, the scent vanished. Apple Fizz did though leave my skin feeling slightly moisturized, so that was a plus.
The Body Lotion:
I planned on saving this one for after my shower. The lotion itself is a light green color, and it is not to thick, nor to thin. It spreads on easily, and leaves behind an awesome sour appley scent. I enjoyed the body lotion more than I did the other products.
It left my skin feeling lightly moisturized, and not greasy. The scent kissed my skin for nearly 2 hours before I was no longer able to smell it.
Overall:
I feel like I got ripped! $19.50, and there was seriously only one product in the group that I actually liked. I should have known better! I'm an idiot, what can I say!?
The 3 in 1 was just okay, the lip gloss did nothing for my lips. The lotion lasts for 2 hours, but it left my skin feeling nice...basically I feel like I just bought the most expensive Temptations lotion on the planet, because honestly the lip gloss will most likely be given away to my cousin, and the body wash will sit on the counter for my mom to use. Me...I got body lotion. Grrrrr!!
Recommendation:
The Temptations Back To School Gift Set is a skip! Yep...skip right by it when you see it in stores.
