Bain De Terre 13.5oz Green Meadow Shampoo - Review

I never cared much about shampoo. It seems as long as you have an awesome conditioner you can use any old brand of shampoo. I have used my fair share of shampoos though, from dollar store brands to upper end designer brands. Some expensive brands do the trick perfectly, and some dollar store brands do the same job the expensive brands do. This is why I never cared much about shampoo.
I was recently given Bain de Terre Green Meadow Shampoo in a 13.5 ounce bottle. This was a brand of shampoo I had never ever heard of in my life, but I was willing to try it anyway. No matter.
Packaging:
Bain de Terre Green Meadow Shampoo comes in a clear plastic stand up bottle, with a gray/silver colored click up cap. The shampoos name is written in white on the outside of the bottle.
Inside of the bottle is the shampoo. It is a transparent green colored liquid that is pretty thick for shampoo. The color I really liked best, it reminded me of Superman's Kryptonite. It was pretty, probably the prettiest colored shampoo I had ever seen.
Sniff Test:
Of course I had to click up the cap and get a sniff of it. My heaven Bain de Terre Green Meadow Shampoo smells like a freaking meadow! It had a strong musky floral scent that I loved the moment I inhaled. I mostly noted a gardenia smell, with earthy evergreen tones that mixed well. It was like no other shampoo I had ever smelled before. I loved it!
The Promise On The Bottle:
Bain de Terre Green Meadow Shampoo claimed that the shampoo can be used on any hair type. It also stated that the shampoo was the perfect moisture balance for all hair types, and that you will be left with healthy shiny hair.
The promise was nothing spectacular, which was surprising because most companies have a mini novel on the back of their bottles that promise the world.
My Use:
I was wishing I had the sister conditioner to go with the shampoo, but unfortunately I wasn't given any. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.
I wet my hair and applied about a handful of the green goo to my hair. The lather worked up nicely, and the smell of flowers ran through the air.
After rinsing my hair was left feeling slightly moisturized, but nothing spectacular to note. I conditioned with some Pantene and hoped that Bain de Terre Green Meadow scent would be left behind.
After drying up, I was able to notice the light gardenia fragrance left behind in my hair. I was happy with that.
Sadly though, Bain de Terre Green Meadow Shampoo didn't do much else for my hair but leave behind a nice scent.
Overall:
Although the company claims that Bain de Terre Green Meadow Shampoo is great for all hair types, it is my opinion that those with less frizzy hair would benefit most. Those with thick unruly hair like mine will not get much from the shampoo, except for scent.
For my hair type the shampoo is just okay. But for those with thinner hair would probably love Bain de Terre Green Meadow Shampoo.
