Review of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps: All One Hemp Peppermint Organic Bar Soap

I love organic soaps. I love soap in general, especially when it is from a company that I have never heard of.
Recently as some of you know I got a box of beauty freebies, and inside the box was Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps: All One Hemp Peppermint Organic Bar Soap. It was far from Lush soaps (which I am addicted to), but I was more than willing to give this soap a try.
Packaging:
Most soaps that I find in mom and pop beauty shops are packaged the same way that Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps: All One Hemp Peppermint Organic Bar Soap was packaged.
Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps: All One Hemp Peppermint Organic Bar Soap though is packaged in a similar wax seal, only it is made of 100% hemp-flax. Cool, weed paper!
Scent:
I brought the bar of soap up to my nose and gave it a large sniff. Immediately I was greeted by a peppermint scent. A light peppermint scent, but still it was very obvious. I knew that this soap would leave behind a cooling tingly feeling on my skin. All peppermint soaps leave behind this cooling feeling. You either love this feeling, or hate it.
The Soap:
Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps: All One Hemp Peppermint Organic Bar Soap is made with organic essential oils. Supposedly this soap will clear the mind and will increase vitality and clarity. It sounded cool, it sounded hippie-ish, it sounded like something I would like.
I was in no rush to try the soap though, the scent just didn't pop, and it took me awhile to finally decide to drag it along into the bathroom with me.
My Use:
Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps: All One Hemp Peppermint Organic Bar Soap does not smell any stronger when you take it out of the hemp-flax seal. The peppermint scent is actually a lot lighter than I thought it was.
Out of the seal the soap itself is an off white color, and is semi-transparent. There really is nothing special about it.
On wet skin I ran the bar back and fourth to get a lather. There was no lather though; while rubbing the soap on my skin though it coated me with an oily residue that I was not to happy with. The oil did feel moisturizing, but when I tried to rinse it off it was sort of stuck. My skin was left with a nasty oil slick that I absolutely hated...then I wondered would this soap make me break out!?
The scent was also non-existent in the shower. The cooling tingly feeling that nearly all peppermint soaps give you was also non-existent. There was no tingling sensation. None at all. There was also no feeling of clarity, or vitality.
After rinsing off with a body wash, and ridding my skin of the oily feeling I got out of the shower. I left the soap in there for my brother who loves using my products. Perhaps after using this one, he will keep his paws off of my other things. Bwhahaha!
Overall Opinion:
Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps: All One Hemp Peppermint Organic Bar Soap sounded like a neat bar of soap, however there was far too much oil in the soap. Not enough scent, and the bar itself was ugly.
Now if they'd add more scent, use less oil, and give the ugly soap some shape or color, then we'd have a nice bar of soap. Till then though, I'm avoiding soaps from this company.
I could of honestly just gotten a bad bar though, but I wouldn't purchase another one to find out.
No one likes oily skin! When are companies going to learn that!? Less oil, more scent! Booyah!
Still Want To Try It?
