The first time I got a glimpse of JLo's new Love At First Glow fragrance
in a Macy's catalog stating that the perfume would be released a bit
before Valentines day a few years ago I almost blew my lid.
I wanted Love At First Glow, and I wanted it now. The day it released I
went seeking it out, and at the time of it's release Macy's wanted
$49.99 for the bottle of perfume.
Me being the cheap penny pincher I am refused to shell out $50.00 and
some for a 1 ounce bottle of her newest perfume. I twiddled my thumbs
and the imaginary cloud popped up over my head. In my imaginary cloud I
pictured my boyfriend handing me the bottle of Love At First Glow for
Valentines Day. I didn't want to wait, but hey, it was better than
shelling out that $50.00 myself right!?
Valentine's Day:
Finally I got my bottle of Love At First Glow. It felt like an
eternity, and I could not wait to get my sniff on. The box was gorgeous.
It was pink covered with 3D pale pink hearts. Love At First Glow was
boldly printed in blue on top of the box.
The bottle itself was a transparent pink and was shaped exactly like
the JLo Glow and Miami Glow bottle. The bottle is designed to look like a
woman. It had hips and a long sexy neck. Jennifer Lopez said herself
she loved the bottle because it also reminded her of a woman's sexy
figure.
Scent:
I was excited. I wondered if it would be musky like her other 2
perfumes in the Glow collection. I imagined it would smell like flowers,
musky flowers. The first hit of the nozzle though told a different
story.
Love At First Glow was floral all right, but it definitely was not a
musky scent, and I wondered why JLo even called labeled it part of the
Glow collection. It smelled nice and all, but was not something I was
expecting from it.
I smelled mostly roses and orange citrus. Rose though mostly hits me
as the hardest scent in the mix. I myself love fresh cut roses from a
garden, but I have never like rose scented perfume, only because it
reminds me of old women.
Lasting Power:
Now the reason I love JLo Glow perfumes is because they have long
lasting scents that stick on your clothing for up to a week. Love At
First Glow sort of fades at the end of the day. You will not smell it
the next day on your jacket. It is a perfume that you will have to use
daily.
Overall:
It is just okay in my opinion. I'm definitely not in love with it, and
could do without. I barely touch this bottle, but I do use it whenever
I'm feeling bored with my other perfumes I use over and over again.
Love At First Glow is just a scent that I'm not into. It is a scent
that is geared towards teens, however it smells like something my granny
would wear. Go figure? Old lady scents are in? I have no idea?
Where To find Love At First Glow:
I have seen it available at Eckerd, CVS, Walmart, Target, Macy's and perfume outlets.
Price:
The bottle as of now is no longer in the $50 category. You can pick up a bottle of Love At First Glow for around $29.99.
