I am new to the whole body scrub thing. I used one in the past and
it felt like I was rubbing sand paper all over my body. It was a
feeling I did not like, and did not want to repeat.
However due to the fact that ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub
was given to me for not a cent, I was willing to try the whole body
scrub thing once again.
ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub comes in a white
plastic container with a twist off cap. I opened up the container and
took a look inside. I was first greeted by a very lemony pine sol like
scent, which I actually liked. If you do not like lemony scents, than
this one is definitely not for you. Besides the lemon scent that I
immediately smelled, I also could detect green tea. I liked the scent,
and this was the main reason I wanted to try it. If it smelled like
crap, there was no way in hell I would of used it.
According to the packaging I could use ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub in the shower or in the bath. I preferred a shower so that way I could get all of the scrub off of my body with ease.
Texture:
ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub is a white salty looking
scrub. When I dipped my finger into the scrub it actually felt like I
was dipping my finger into salt that had water mixed into in to it. I
rubbed it between my fingers to see if the scrub would be too harsh for
my skin. It was a light scrub, and I knew it would react kindly to my
body. There was nothing harsh or gritty about it.
In The Shower:
ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub is supposed to come
with a net sponge, however my container lacked the net sponge. This does
not mean it didn't come with it at one time. The container was given to
me by a relative and odds are they kept it for themselves. No biggie.
I didn't want to use a net sponge anyway.
In the shower I wet my skin and took out a decent chunk of the scrub. I
rubbed it in a circular motion around my body like the directions
stated.
The feeling was not harsh, but it was also a feeling I was not used to, so I of course didn't like it much.
As I began to rub the scrub into my skin I could immediately feel an
oily residue that I didn't really like. I cannot stand bathing products
that contain too much oil. It always leaves behind a light slick residue
that is sort of hard to rinse off completely.
The scent of course filled the room, and I liked it a lot, and it was
the main reason I continued to use the scrub, even though I hated the
oily feeling on my skin.
After scrubbing ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub in enough I then rinsed off. The oily feeling remained. I had a hunch that it would though.
After rinsing the oily feeling off with a bar of soap, I then stepped
out of the shower. My skin truly felt brand new. The light exfoliation
that ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub delivered was exactly what my skin needed. It felt clean, quenched, and even had a nice light lemony scent.
Overall:
I was disgusted with ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub
at first, but after a quick rinse with some bar soap, I was happy with
the results. I recommend rinsing with a bar of soap after using ABRA Green Tea and Lemongrass Body Scrub, otherwise you will be left with an oily feeling that you may not like. (I know I didn't like it anyway).
