Review of Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin

I'm not much of a lip junkie; I don't care for lipstick, or glosses, or anything else that goes on my lips. It's not that I don't like the colors, it's the fact that nearly everything I have tried for my lips ends up being a waste of money...so I simply quit buying the crap.
Seeing how in the past I have had obsessions with lip products, I figured I would share my experiences with some of my products which are still being sold today.
Up on the chopping block:
Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin.
I bought it simply because I liked the color that I was able to view through the clear tube. Pink looks good on my skin tone, and on my lips. Seeing how I had never seen such a gorgeous looking pink lip color, I wanted to give it a try. At the time Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin was also NEW, and the commercials that were displayed all over my TV set every 10 minutes sort of sold me before I even ran into the actual product.
Pink Sequin is a lovely light colored pink gloss with micro speckles of glitter. The color reminded me of cotton candy, with sparkles.
Packaging:
Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin comes in a very small (about 3.5 inches long) stand up tube with approximately .27 ounces of gloss.
There was not much gloss, but I don't use lip products often, so I knew it would last me all year long.
My Use:
I applied it the moment I got into the car. The gloss itself is very, very thick, and to be honest felt pretty yucky when I applied it. It was my own fault though, because I had obviously applied too much.
I blotted and took a look in the mirror. The color was gorgeous, Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin really shined my lips up, and left a lovely pink shade behind.
One problem though, it felt like Vaseline on my lips. It was greasy, thick, and caused my lips to stick together. I was not fond of it at all when it came to texture, but for now I would live with it only because I liked the color so much.
After getting home and checking myself out in the mirror again I noticed the lovely pink shade was gone. Behind small micro sparkles were left behind, but not a trace of color.
I found myself applying religiously; almost every hour. I liked the color, so I couldn't help it! However about a month later I was nearly at the bottom...this was when I ran into another issue.
The wand did not reach the bottom. There was about a half an inch of gloss at the bottom that I could not get to with the wand. That sucked, and I was pissed...but when you have a creative mind you put it to use.
I simply used a longer wand from an old gloss tube that I no longer use. It worked like a charm. It was annoying to have to do this, but it worked, and that's all that mattered.
Overall:
Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin leaves behind gorgeous color, but unless you are going to re-apply every hour, the color vanishes. Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin also has a sticky texture to it that I was not too fond of.
Recommendation:
If you can deal with sticky lips, color that fades fast, and the annoyance of having to use a longer wand when you are almost out of gloss than yes-go for it if you want.
If you can't deal with the annoyance, Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin is a pass.
I can't really recommend it for those looking for long lasting color, because Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin does not last long at all.
Although I loved the color of Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin, I do not see myself buying the product again only because it was more of a hassle than it was worth. Non stop applying just made me look like a vain moron. 'Oh look at me, look at my lips...bah!'
Pricing and availability:
You can pick up a tube of Cover Girl Wetslicks Liquid Lip Gloss: Pink Sequin at any local drug store for about $4.99 or less.
