I learned about Soap Rocks a few months ago through an online beauty
forum. Seeing how I'm a major soap junkie, I of course had to take a
peek at the newest hype; 'Soap Rocks'.
What are Soap Rocks?
Only the most gorgeous cuts of soap I have ever seen in my entire life!
No really, Soap Rocks are actually handmade bars of soap cut and
colored to look exactly like a precious stone. When a woman on the
forums first described them I had to see them to believe her. Once I
visited the site I was more astonished than before. Every single
available Soap Rock looked like something I would bring home. I mean
every single one!
The site however was selling these 6 ounce gorgeous pieces of soap for nearly $15.00 though.
So...me being the cheap gal I am did a little more online hunting till I found the Soap Rocks for dirt cheap.
My first purchase was just a trial. I assumed that the soaps were so
gorgeous, they most likely smelled like crap; or had no smell at all. I
ordered the Turquoise Soap Rock (trust me it was hard figuring out which
soap I would try first; they are seriously all that pretty).
My Turquoise Soap Rock came nicely packaged, and only took about a week and a half to get to my door!
In the box covered in protective wrap sat my gorgeous Turquoise Soap
Rock! I was shocked! I was not expecting the bar of soap to look this
fantastic. I truly thought that perhaps this lovely bar of soap should
sit on my dresser drawer because it was so lovely looking that I did not
want to use it.
The Soap Rock itself is made of hard glycerin soap. It had a gorgeous
milky sky blue color on one half of the Soap Rock. Mixed in with the sky
blue color were small cracks of clear shiny sparkle. It truly resembled
a hunk of turquoise. On the other half of the soap were 2 large cracks
of black, and directly after the black colored cracks was the gorgeous
sparkly (almost holographic) clear color.
The cut of the soap looked similar to the Soap Rock on the site, but
the colors were definitely placed differently. I assumed it would be
slightly different; but believe me, this did not make the Soap Rock any
less beautiful.
Scent:
I could smell a very distinct scent of flowers. It was odd because
from the appearance of the stone I was expecting to smell a beachy like
scent. The flower scent was nice though nonetheless.
It was a light gardenia like scent, mixed with what I believe smells like honeysuckle.
My Use:
I actually left my Turquoise Soap Rock on my dresser drawer for about a
week till I finally gave in and decided to put it to use. I honestly
didn't want to, but I figured if I didn't it would just melt or ruin my
dresser over time.
I used the Turquoise Soap Rock in the shower. I rubbed the rock around
my skin until I had a bit of lather going on. The Turquoise Soap Rock
does not lather much, but this is expected from all natural ingredients.
The scent was lovely, and when the rock hit the water it let off its
scent times three.
The Turquoise Soap Rock did not melt immediately like some glycerin
soaps. When it arrived it was not soft like most glycerin soaps I have
ordered online before; this basically told me that the Soap Rock would
not melt fast...I was right.
I did know though, that if I left the soap in the shower it would melt pretty quickly.
After the shower and drying up, there was a very light gardenia type
scent left behind on my skin. The Soap Rock did not dry my skin out, but
it also did not moisturize. I wasn't really looking for it to do
luxurious things to my skin though, I just loved it because it was
pretty, and left behind a subtle gardenia scent.
The scent lasted for about a half hour, which is decent compared to most soaps.
I left the rest of the Turquoise Soap Rock in our soap dish. I figured
more people would be able to get a look at it, and that it would last
longer in the dish, than in the shower itself.
Overall:
The Turquoise Soap Rock was a really unique, and gorgeous bar of soap.
Not only will you enjoy them if you purchase them, but they can and
will make for really excellent gifts for girls and guys alike.
Where to buy them:
You don't want to go just anywhere for Soap Rocks. Most sites sell
them for really high prices...so I took the guess work out of which
sites sell them for the less amount of dollars.
My research brought me to this lovely site. The Rock Soaps are sold here for only $7.99 each. 50% off of what other sites offer them for.
Recommendation:
Buy 2 or 3 of the Soap Rocks and place them in a crystal dish in your bathroom for a really lovely decoration.
