I have for years been using only Estee Lauder's Double Wear Liquid
Foundation, but over the years I have noticed that my skin just was not
as luminous as others. My skin feel flat with a matte look; granted I
like a matte look every now and again, but I got tired of it.
With the spring season just around the corner, I wanted to glow,
without having glitter on my skin. I wanted to shine, without adding
oil. I already have oily skin, so I needed a foundation that would work
perfectly with my combo skin type, without making me shimmer with pear
accents, or making me look like I dipped my head into a fry vat at
McDonald's!
I did a lot of homework on Sephora.com, and had a ton of choices when
it came to an illuminating foundation. Being that Dolce & Gabbana,
The Foundation Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation was brand new and hot
in thees, I caved and went with it. $60.00 later, I have my brand new
foundation in hand.
I went with the color Bronze 144, because my skin always has a slight sun kissed color. I wanted something to match it best.
The Color Bronze:
Now normally I would not talk about the color, or shade I purchased,
but when it comes to Dolce & Gabbana, The Foundation Perfect
Luminous Liquid Foundation, this is actually very important, especially
if you are ordering it online like I did.
Bronze is not at all what you would think when it comes to color. It
is actually very light in color, and more suited for those with lighter
complexions. It does not give off brown or copper hues as you would
expect from a color called bronze.
I would recommend it to those with light skin, not fair, as it is a
wee too dark for pale skin. For light skin though, without a tan this
one works beautifully.
For me, it made my natural skin tone look lighter, and I was forced to
blend it with a darker MAC Foundation I already had. I did however wear
it alone for a day to see how it stood up, and what it did for my skin.
My Use:
I really like the press down applicator on this one, but I worry about
it later on for when the bottle is nearing empty. I will not be able to
shake the left over out seeing that the pump is on there, and it is on
there to stay. You cannot screw it off.
I applied it on a clean face on top of my usual moisturizer and facial
serum. It can be worn in that way, or alone. However if you want a
longer lasting finish, I always suggest a facial moisturizer, or base.
Anyhow, the foundation glides on like silk, and spreads very evenly.
It sinks into the skin, but does not leave it feeling dry, nor is it
overly dewy.
The finish is absolutely superb, where your skin will have a dewy
flow, yet without the oily look. It is absolutely amazing in my opinion.
It does not just feel like an ordinary foundation, but it feels like an
added benefit to the skin as a whole.
Overall:
I never thought I would recommend such an expensive foundation, but
Dolce & Gabbana, The Foundation Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation
is worth every last cent I paid. The finish is long lasting, flawless,
and you get a healthy glow, without any pearly dusting added. It is
natural looking, yet provides great cover for flaws and imperfections.
It also does not highlight wrinkles, or sink into fine lines making
them look larger. It is, in my opinion one of the best foundations on
the market.
