I love applying makeup; it's fun, it's creative, and I can work with so
many different looks. There are times when I purchase new products that I
will try the product on in many different ways to find new looks that
suit my face.
Experimenting with eye makeup is always the funnest for me. I can be
subtle or bold, I can use a lot or a little. However when experimenting
with new looks with eye makeup things can become difficult, and at times
even painful when it comes to removing eye makeup.
I have in my time tried a slew of different eye makeup removal
products. It seems that the products with oil in them work best, but
leaves your skin feeling nasty. Then you have the circular pads that are
so tiny you have to use 10 of them just to remove all traces of makeup.
Honestly there are tons of different approaches to removing eye makeup. My favorite though has always been in pads.
Recently I got my hands on a huge box of makeup products. Products
from companies I have never even heard of. One of those products was Dr.
Andrew Weil For Origins: Plantidote Mega Mushroom Eye Makeup Removal
Pads With Therapeutic Benefits! Phew, say that 3 times fast!
What interested me in the pads was the large plastic jug the pads
came in. I had never in my life seen such a large jug of makeup removal
pads. Usually the jugs are tiny and only come with itty pads for the
eyes.
Appearance:
Look at the photo to the left. That is exactly what Dr. Andrew Weil
For Origins: Plantidote Mega Mushroom Eye Makeup Removal Pads With
Therapeutic Benefits looks like. The pads come in a large black plastic
jug with the name of the product on the jug. The top is a screw off cap,
and inside is where the pads reside...uh-duh!
The pads themselves are larger than most eye makeup removal pads. For a
better understanding of their size take a look at a soda or beer can.
They are about that big in diameter.
Scented?
Some makeup removal pads I have used have left behind a sickly scent.
Dr. Andrew Weil For Origins: Plantidote Mega Mushroom Eye Makeup Removal
Pads With Therapeutic Benefits though leaves no scent behind.
My Use:
After a long day at work, I cannot wait to get home to take off my
makeup. I went straight for the jug and straight for my eyes. I rubbed
lightly around the area, and inspected the pad. It had picked up quite a
bit of makeup, but after checking myself out in the mirror, it was
clear that I still had dark circles under my eyes that needed to be
taken care of.
Overall:
I ended up using 2 pads; one for each eye. Dr. Andrew Weil For
Origins: Plantidote Mega Mushroom Eye Makeup Removal Pads With
Therapeutic Benefits works well, but it does not work magic, and it
actually took quite a bit of rough scrubbing to get the eyeliner off
completely.
I have used eye makeup removal pads that did a much better and faster job at removing all of my makeup.
Issue:
The next morning, my eyes had dark circles. It was obvious that I had
thought I removed all of the makeup with the pads, but it was obvious
that I thought wrong. It turned out there was some traces of mascara
still on my lashes that the pads had missed.
It was very hard to remove the dark circles left behind because the makeup was dry and cracked now.
Dr. Andrew Weil For Origins: Plantidote Mega Mushroom Eye Makeup
Removal Pads With Therapeutic Benefits failed for me. I can't say I am a
fan, and I can definitely say that I would never purchase this on my
own.
Price:
Dr. Andrew Weil For Origins: Plantidote Mega Mushroom Eye Makeup
Removal Pads With Therapeutic Benefits comes to $20.00 for a jug of 60
pads. $20.00 for makeup removal pads that don't do a very good job is a
huge rip-off in my opinion.
