I have always loved bronzing powders, especially in the summer when
everyone else has a natural sun kissed tan, and I...well I look like
Casper.
I use bronzing powders as blush. I don't really dig the whole
pink/reddish blush look. It looks unnatural, fake, and makes womens
faces look like they tried and applied too much. It just never looks
good, and when a woman does wear blush, if she does not apply it like a
professional it looks ridiculous.
This weekend I came across a brand new line of makeup products from
L'Oreal. Products called HIP which stands for High Intensity Pigments.
Seeing how I had always been a fan of L'Oreal, I figured I would take
the dive into the land of HIP. I bought a few products to add to my case
of makeup, and hoped for the best; because to be honest the new
products were a bit pricey. All makeup is a bit pricey though,
especially good ones.
L'oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Vibrant Shimmer Bronzing Powder -
Thriving caught my eye because it was a light caramel color with a
sparkle shimmer to it. The bronzing powder looked similar to most
bronzers I had used before, so I knew it was a tint/color that would go
well with my skin tone.
The HIP bronzing powder came in a 0.19 ounce black plastic container.
It also comes with a small application brush, and a mirror which is
inside of the compact. The whole thing is pretty nifty and convenient.
At Home:
At home I chucked the small application brush it came with and used my
own. I lightly swiped my brush back and forth and applied to my cheeks
forehead and neck. The HIP Shimmer Bronzing Powder gave my skin a
shimmery touch of golden glow.
I liked it because I could not feel it on my face, and I knew it wouldn't clog my pores or cause breakouts.
The shimmer effect lasted for the entire day, and I enjoyed my fake sun kissed glow.
Overall:
L'oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Vibrant Shimmer Bronzing Powder -
Thriving worked well with my skin tone, and works even better on top of a
foundation. The key to the bronzer looking best though is to apply
extremely lightly. Do not go overboard otherwise you will look too
shimmery. Too much shimmer will actually result in looking greasy and
sweaty.
L'Oreal's Promise:
My favorite part about makeup shopping is the brands promise. This
particular bronzer promised natural color with a golden shimmer. The
promise was exact.
Most products I use promise the world, and deliver nothing. This was
the second HIP product I had tried, and was extremely satisfied with
both products.
Recommendation:
Not only do I recommend the L'oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments
Vibrant Shimmer Bronzing Powder - Thriving, but I also recommend L'Oreal
HIP products in general. The ones I have tried so far have been nothing
but a joy to use.
*Other bronzer colors include radiant, blessed, and glowing.
