I am a huge fan of Bath and Body Works line of temptations products. I'm
the first to know when it's coming out, how much it will cost, and
usually I'm at the store the day the shelves are lined with the new
product.
This fall season quite a few new scents were released to the fall
collection of products. One particular fragrance though for some reason
was hidden on another shelf, and not given much lime light. I don't see
why not though, because the scent is new, the scent is sweet, and the
scent deserves lime light.
The new fall scent?
Vanilla Ice Cream. Sadly though this scent is not available as a
3 in 1, or a lotion. It comes in either a body splash or in a new
concept from temptations....body mouse.
The body mouse comes in a gnarly looking can that resembles whipped
cream. It is advertised so sweetly one right away thinks it's edible.
Seeing how I was not into the whole body mouse thing though, I went with the body splash.
Packaging:
The packaging is done up a lot nicer than most Temptation products.
Most items come in dull looking packaging. They really did a number with
Vanilla Ice Cream though, and the sticker on the bottle is pretty yummy
looking. It's a vanilla ice cream sundae, with a cherry on top.
The bottle is a standard stand up spray bottle, with a plastic nozzle
that sprays the scent out when pressed down. The splash itself is clear.
Scent:
This was why I bought the body splash. I'm not a fan of splashes,
because I know they do not ever last long. However this was the first
time I had ever seen a Temptations body splash, so I couldn't really
judge it without trying it.
Vanilla Ice Cream smells just like vanilla bean ice cream. It's pretty
amazing at how realistic it truly smells. The scent though did remind
me of Temptations 'Vanilla Frosting'. The scent was similar to it, but
it was clearly a scent of its own. Similar yes; exact, no.
Price:
Vanilla Ice Cream Body Splash comes to $8.00 for an 8 ounce bottle.
Last:
The reason I love Temptation products is that they have a long lasting
scent (the lotions do anyway). This is why I continue to buy them, and
continue to love them. Vanilla Ice Cream Body Splash however had a
powerful vanilla scent when it first came out of the bottle...when the
spray dried on my skin and clothing though it barely left any scent of
vanilla behind. I got about 10 to 15 minutes of scent, and then needed
to re-apply.
Not good in my opinion; not good.
Overall:
Although Temptations Vanilla Ice Cream is a lovely scent, it sucks as a
body splash. The scent does not last long enough, and for the $8.00
price tag, it should. Most body splashes only cost $4.00 at Walmart, and
they last just as long.
I'm also a wee upset that Vanilla Ice Cream is not available as a
lotion or a 3 in 1. If it were available in a lotion I am sure it would
last much, much longer. They should consider completing the line as they
do with every other scent.
Where To Buy It:
Have you been paying attention? You pick it up at Bath and Body Works, or on the site.
Recommendation:
Nope. I can't say I'd recommend this one. It just does not last long
enough. If they ever release a 3 in 1 or a lotion, then yes, I'm all for
recommending this scent. Till then though, no.
