Review: Chanel Lash Building Mascara - Cils A' Cils

As I have stated in many reviews before I am not much of a mascara wearer, the reason is because my lashes feel the weight difference and by mid-day I actually form headaches that begin in my eyes due to the strain on the lashes. I have sensitive lids and the added weight just hurts.
However when my uncle arrived at my door with boxes filled with designer beauty and makeup products I of course had to test them all out. In the boxes I found quite a few different name brand mascaras. I planned on giving them away to other relatives and friends because I myself really cannot stand mascara.
When I saw the Chanel logo on a few of the mascaras though, I had second thoughts. I for one knew that Chanel mascaras are way more expensive than the average brand, so I had high hopes that perhaps one of the mascaras would feel light on my lids.
The first one I tried was Cils A Cils, in Noir. Noir is the darkest of Cils A Cils shades, so I of course went for this one first. Any other color on my lashes just don't show up enough, and are not dark enough for my liking.
Packaging:
Cils A Cils comes in a cylinder shaped black tube. On top of the tube is a twist of cap, underneath the cap is a standard mascara wand with an attached brush. There isn't really anything special about the brush I can note. On top of the cap is the Chanel logo.
I dipped the wand into the mascara and pulled up some of the mascara cream. The mascara itself is quite thick, and I like any makeup junkie wondered if this would cause clumping.
I took the plunge, for this reviews sake. I applied the mascara to my lashes, and can say that I noticed a difference right away. I can truly say that my lashes looked thick and full. I liked it, but as I applied more, I noticed that clumping was in fact occurring. I was sort of expecting this to happen, but whatever, my lashes looked fuller than they had ever been with any other mascara.
As time went on I noticed the weight difference though, and my eyes began to hurt. Suffering in the name of beauty has never been one of my hobbies, so I was not too happy with it. It only took about 3 hours into wearing Cils A Cils for me to begin to form eye headaches, so I had to remove the mascara for the sake of an oncoming migraine.
Overall:
Although Cils A Cils caused discomfort, it did the best job I had ever seen a mascara do when it came to giving my lashes a fuller and longer appearance. You see my lashes are nothing to brag about. Due to years of mascara wearing and eye lash curlers they have worn thin, and short. After applying Cils A Cils though it seemed like I had my good ol' teenage lashes back. You know the days when you had thick long lashes? Yep, I can truly say that Cils A Cils found the rewind button when it came to my lashes.
Cils A Cils does clump though, but it is nothing that a lash brush cannot take care of.
Recommendation:
Cils A Cils is perfect for women who want a longer thicker lash. I cannot really recommend it to those who have weight sensitivity when it comes to their lashes. Even one coat will cause strain on your lids, so it is a major bummer for those of us with sensitive lids. For everyone else though, Cils A Cils is a wonderful mascara.
